Im curious if now after the game looking back, given that the turn timer was unusually long, you think that selling the golden doubloon grifter at 12:35 (strike oil machine) was possibly not better than just dropping the non golden gunpowder couriour. I definitely think that in a normal game (normal turn times) selling the doubloon grifter is always right but given hindsight and the benefit of not having the pressure of being in game it seems like it mightve been ok to keep it.

I had a duo's game with a buddy where we got his gems up to 97-203, but he struggled to actually get any gems played out on his board. though admittedly at our rating we didn't need to play many gems to win the lobby.
