Santa Monica, California, is a vibrant city with diverse neighborhoods, each offering its own unique character, attractions, and vibe. Here’s a brief overview of the eight main neighborhoods in Santa Monica...
The photo at the 1:34 mark is a general store in June Lake, California (not Los Angeles). That confused me for a moment. Otherwise, great video.
Thank you for watching and after looking through it, you are correct. We pulled a picture in Silver Lake Resort...oops...we appreciate you pointing that out...:)
Excellent video! Best one I've seen on Silverlake (and I've watched several, lol). Very thorough. Thank you.
Thank you for your wonderful compliment. ☺ We love Silver Lake.....what a great area of Los Angeles to live...so much happening up there and a lot of folks are snatching up properties there...lots of Craftsman homes as well...Happy people are renovating them instead of tearing them down.

Lived in LA for 25 years. Santa Monica is a beautiful place but be careful where you park your car. Ticketing and parking citations are a growth industry in SM.

Thanks for watching, it is a most fabulous city to live in.....
Came across this bland and tasteless video. That's what gentrification means for you. For working class people of color that have been there for generations it means an increased cost of living and likely being pushed out. If you've been a long term renter here, that means you're getting priced out and evicted. The biggest con is people like you moving in.
Thank you for sharing! Did you know that the angels rejoice in heaven over every soul that is saved! Life is fragile and each one of us have been given free will to choose right from wrong at any given moment, effecting us and others in a positive or negative way, every life matters and we are very much loved by our Heavenly Father, He cares for each one of us from the womb to the tomb, the body and spirit, but it’s the spirit that lives on for eternity! Jesus our Saviour, will be returning soon and we all will need to give an account of our lives: the thoughts, deeds, actions, words and motives done in the flesh, and who can stand before God? If you did not know, Jesus is our redeemer who came to save us from our fallen and sinful nature. If you don’t know Him yet and how He came to restore our relationship with God in heaven, who loves you and wants you to be reconciled to Him, I say to you today: Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes unto the Father but by Him, Jesus is the only one mediator between God and man, and only God can forgive sins. What is sin? It is knowing the right thing to do and not doing it. Sin includes things like sexual immorality, addictions, drunkenness, drugs, watching porn, lying, stealing, unforgiveness, hate, anger, gossiping, and much more. These separate us from God, who is holy and righteous and just. He weighs the motives of our hearts and all of us have missed the mark. The call to salvation is for everyone. Regardless of your wealth, status, sexual orientation or religious background, Jesus invites you to turn from sin and accept His gift of salvation. No amount of money, social standing, or religious observance can save you. It’s not about comparing yourself to others; the only comparison that matters is with God, and we all fall short, we all have sinned. God doesn’t want our religion; He wants a relationship with us. Good works cannot save you; there is nothing you can do to earn salvation. It’s by grace alone, so no one can boast. Our works are like filthy rags to a holy God. The Bible says the wages of sin is death, eternal separation from God in hell-a fate you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy. We are created with a God-shaped vacuum that nothing else can fill but Him. Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins on the Cross so we can be restored to God, our heavenly Father. There needed to be a sacrifice, and God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, who was sinless, to take our place. It’s like a mother giving away her new-born baby or you giving away your only child to pay someone else’s debt, someone who couldn’t care less about you or love you back. God was willing to do that for you and me. Jesus Christ was crucified, with nails driven through His hands and feet and a crown of thorns pressed onto His head. He was whipped until His skin was torn off, becoming unrecognizable. As He hung on that Cross, He did it for your sins. He took our sins upon Himself, including the very sins that have destroyed our lives. He was destroyed for those sins on that Cross. He bled and died for our sins, which were buried with Him in the grave. Three days later, Jesus Christ was raised from the dead. Jesus is alive! Now is the time to respond. Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” This declaration and belief bring salvation. John 3:36 warns, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.” Embrace this good news today and pray: “Dear God, thank you for loving me. I confess that I have sinned against you. I believe that Jesus, Your Son, died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe that Jesus was raised from the dead. I ask that you forgive all my sins. I confess that Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Thank you for Your gift of eternal life! I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.” Remember, it’s not the prayer that saves you; it’s the heartfelt belief and confession, repentance and choosing to trust in Jesus for a righteous life, from now on. Now is the time for salvation. Turn from darkness to light, from sin to salvation, and follow Jesus. Ask God for forgiveness of the wrong things you have done, repent (turn from them) and leave your old sinful ways behind, and begin a new and righteous life trusting in Christ Jesus, every single day, ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit to help you, and read your Bible and obey it, repent to God daily, connect to God through prayer and ask the Holy Spirit for revelation, guidance, wisdom and discernment.
My sister moved out to Marina del Ray and rented a small house with two other nursing friends. I loved visiting and riding my bike at daybreak all the way to its end. It was beautiful. She recently planned a vacation in California with a goal to revisit Santa Monica. Made it to the Venice area and did a U turn. Did not even get out of her car. Sad.
Bummer....why did she stop in Venice and not go on into SM? It is a great bike ride along the bike path from those points...beautiful ocean and interesting things going on along the path....
@@LIVINGINLOSANGELESCA She had seen the trash and homeless and did not want to risk her rental car from being broken into so she and her husband just turned around and headed back up coast. She lived there from 1980-1990. I used to visit and at daybreak would ride from her cute little Marina bungalow on the bike trail you described. Orange tree in her front yard, lemon in the back. No need for AC, breeze through open windows. It was idyllic and going back for her was a huge sadness
That is a bit of a time to be away....I understand...unfortunate that she did not drive on further to SM as it is nothing like Venice, but I am sure she knew that.....crime is up everywhere and the pandemic did not help that any. With that said, I see many changes when I go back to visit Nashville and as they say, you can never go back. LOL...Hopefully someday you might get a chance to visit. It is not the same and changes daily, but still is such a vibrant town to live in....:):) If you do decide to visit, give us a shout.....

@@LIVINGINLOSANGELESCA I live 2 hours away and you couldn’t pay me enough lol
I can't wait unitl the union breaks up and California becomes its own state. I'm so tired of the all the transplants.
And the LA SUBWAY is designed by the "LA Car-Accident Attorneys Assn" and the contractors are "CA Oil Refineries Assn." - expected to be open by 2099. I can't wait since getting to LAX could take you 2 1/2hr - 3 hr for 16 miles ride coming from the Valley. In many areas in LA you have to literally walk over the 'homeless encampments' to get anywhere. Rents are higher than in Monte Carlo. Traffic is like in Manhattan - the RUSH-HOUR lasts from 5am-10pm.. Parking is almost impossible to find. On the bright side, if you are very rich you can buy a Malibu villa with ocean view and have your staff running all your errands. You can fly out in your own jet from near by Santa Monica Airport - life can be beautiful. So play the lottery - you never know!?!
I love hearing about a city from a non-native transplant. The valley ain't north of the 405; the 405 runs N-S. It is north of the Santa Monica mountains. And the valley absolutely does experience June gloom
Have never seen the gloom in the Valley ….good to know. Was there all last week and no gloom until I drove south on the 405 and hit Sunset Blvd…I guess I should have said The Valley is north on the 405 from the Westside. I do mess up at times. 😵
One should consider moving to LA if you love paying some of the highest taxes in the nation, like having an hour and a half commute to work daily, and don't have a problem with shit on the sidewalks and mentally insane people roaming around. Don't forget the bonuses like going out to your car to discover that your catalytic converter was ripped off. Graffiti everywhere, lawlessness. And if you love drama, go to the gas station for a top off..bonus points for going after 9:00 pm.
Thank you for watching and commenting...Hey get an EV car and then you dont have to even think about the gas station issue...🙃
I moved to Chicago for my current job 3 years ago. Chicago is a beautiful city. But i miss LA so much. Would move bacl in a heartbeat.

It is sad how bad California has gotten since Reagan was governor.
Thank you for watching. Unfortunately I did not live here then so I have nothing to compare it to, but I know it is a city with a lot to offer...I have been fortunate to live in other cities and have found wonderful people to include in my circle of friends who have become family...What is your favorite thing about Los Angeles? Please share so if we have not done it, we will check it out....🤩
yes, please stay away, we are already full
Get out Karen
Thank you for watching our videos...it is hard to stay away since LA offers so many benefits...it is the city of plenty for sure....😄
Anyone reading these comments while watching this video, please, know that anywhere is what you make it. I left California for Florida, and five years later I decided to move back. California has more opportunities and money in it than most states combined. The problems you will find in California can be found in any other state. We are just a lot bigger, so it seems more exaggerated. Don’t believe the hype and certain media/people with a political bent. You decide and make your life. If it’s California great! If it’s not also great! Don’t listen to a bunch of people who need someone else to blame their problems on.
Thank you very much for your kinds words...Yes one must find the good wherever they live in order to survive or pick another place to live. I have lived in several cities and have found so many great things CA offers. They outweigh the negative for me. Most of my friends are actually from LA and still live here they because they love it..and those that are not from here, like myself chose to move it .As you state, anywhere you go you will find issues....When you find the positive in life and the negative becomes small...What are your top three things about CA you love? 🙌🌞🕶
@drew1913 -I agree with your sentiment but your facts could not be more wrong. Good for you if you love LA. I liked it very much for the good things it has but that was the early 1990's. LA is very different now because of mostly negative things. The city I live in now has over 5 million people and is geographically about half the size of Greater Los Angeles. There are no slums here, yes really. There are no encampments of tens of thousands of homeless. There might be a gun crime a couple of times a year and most of them - nobody dies. There is no water shortage or brownouts. We don't have many dozens of other dystopian nightmare problems that LA has in abundance. We do have other problems but I tried real hard to think of things that are worse here and I can only think of one. Our local state and federal governments are like overbearing nanny's intruding unnecessarily, far more than most developed places. Just a week ago the state government appointed a minister for mens behaviour - I find that very disturbing. LA has many good things that we do not have. Much better beaches and freer lifestyles. More opportunity for wealth creation. etc. Weather is not one of them. Not sure why anyone would want to have the same weather nearly every day. We have four seasons here but no snow. One thing is true for everywhere, we can all act to make our communities better and we are all richer for that effort.
@@warpeace8891 Thank you for viewing and your comments. Yes, we all can act to make our communities better wherever we live...Curious, what facts are you stating are incorrect? There really are over 900 coffee shops in LA. LOL
CALIFORNIAS FULL SORRY
Thank you! LA is great and has a bit of room since so many people did move during/after the Pandemic..,What is your favorite thing about living here? 💯
The weather is the ONLY reason to move here. Calif. politics suck , crime, living costs, ie. rent, gas, insurance, utilities, etc, are the highest in the nation. Traffic sucks everyday. There are a lot more reasons NOT to move here.
Thank you for previewing our video and yes the weather is fabulous!!! And the plathera of food preferences is unlimited….…..🌮🥗🍕🍱🍣🍤
It's not even nice to visit anymore
Thank you for watching..I am sorry to hear you do not enjoy visiting anymore...what was your favorite thing to visit before and you miss?😞
Great insights!
I love this shirt!
Hey, love your content! Just a few general suggestions for how to improve your content (from a woman who used to shoot real estate content): 1. Try moving the came back a bit so your head and torso are in the frame - in many of your videos it’s just your head and its slightly jarring (head & torso looks more professional - you also wear super cool top, show them off!) 2. Use a tripod or stand where possible, again, it’d make the videos look more professional. I’m looking forward to watching your channel grow
