I have a Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster with the 75th Anniversary tag that is the same as yours which is an earlier iteration of your guitar. The differences between the two are a tapered neck joint instead of a belly cut and Vintage Noiseless pickups in place of the Player Noiseless. I bought it used and was in new condition with plastic on the neck plate, no marks on the scratch plate and saved myself approximately $400 USD compared to the brand new ones they were selling.

I don’t like the carve on the SE PRS and I don’t like the price of the PRS core guitars 😐 if they manufacture modern guitars with a CNC machine why not duplicate the carve of the core guitars ? The SE looks like a cheap guitar even if it’s not 🫤 PRS SE quality has dropped dramatically since moving the manufacturing to Indonesia 😟

That was an amazing review Duke! I appreciate that you clearly showed the shortcomings. Definitely things to watch out for, and why I prefer to play guitars before buying them. I used to only buy black guitars, then stopped being so prejudiced. On line purchasing is convenient, and eyes often are betrayed by the set-up, fit and sound - they are everything regardless of color, I have found. "That's comfy... yep" was what I said about my SG. Probably should not have sold on my American tele some years back - it was classic tele sound with modern improvements and sounded great - alas. The 6 saddle bridge is definitely better than the historically accurate brass model, but we're not 1955 anymore. Your playing demo was excellent - you are creamy smooth! I should also mention that I listened to the playing demo at .75 speed to see your fretwork, which was really nice then again on 1.25 speed to hear the "shred" - very very nice. "Marmite" finish and "belly cut" - LOL. Thanks, I'm very sold on this model and feel that you've helped inform my search.

The paisley Nashville telecaster is much better looking.

I've watched a few of your reviews and kudos to you for 'Telling it as it is". I did own a PRS Custom 24, tobacco, great finish, loved the neck, the bird inlays, sounded great but you couldn't play it sitting down to practice or jam, it was just awkward, couldn't play it on right leg, or on left, it just didn't fit. I realise most playing would be standing up but I ended up selling it. I'll stick to the Strat and the Tele. But great reviews, thank you.

Ooh! you lucky so and so. I haven't had a PRS yet, I have played a friends PRS Mcarty 594 and was very impressed with it, it played buttery smooth and was set up perfectly, I think the retailer did this though.

It's funny how few people understand why Prince was the best. But if you imagine that guitar being Michael Jordans Shoes, putting them on means nothing. Only Prince could have done with it what we saw. That was Princes way of saying; "There you go, if you think you can do better, try it!"To this day have you ever seen it done better than Prince?

I had one. The biggest problem it had....it didn't sound anything like a Telecaster. I was going to have the bridge and neck pickup wired to position #2 but instead I traded it for a G&L. No regrets.

Where can I find this guitar?

One thing to try with the 1st string being too close to the edge: Loosen the strings, loosen the neck screws, gently pull the neck toward the 6th string. Look and see if the strings are more centered on the neck. Once achieved, retighten the neck screws and tune it up.

In my experience the issue you mention with the top string sliding off is an effect of rolling off the action when the outside bridge screw on the string is lower than the inside. If you adjust them to be the same height it should help. I'd probably return a brand new guitar where I had to do cut a spring to intonate and there was an obvious flaw like the crooked electronics. It does look like it's all off a touch and I would be concerned that it won't age well.

I found that the truss rod tool did not quite fit well, I had to wiggle and force it into the spoke wheel. I too was confused about the saddles, whoever thought that method was a good design choice was IMO deluded, the whole point is that you can make micro adjustments and having to manually move the saddles back is not a micro adjustment, I found I had to use the screws to move the saddles forward after manually moving them back, no matter how careful I was I moved them back far too much. I had to dampen the trem springs as they were vibrating horribly. The action on mine was far too low and was hitting the frets on a couple of strings, only slightly though and only noticeable when playing without it plugged in, I like a low action but this guitar was as low as possible. The fretboard was completely flat with no relief at all and so I put I little bit of relief in it. The flaming on my neck was outrageous, in fact it was so well flamed it roasted itself I had to make some EQ adjustments as the pickups are too warm IMO. Overall I really like this guitar, the only thing I don't like is the fretboard width at the top, I like a wider fretboard as my hands are like shovels and I have sausage fingers, however, it is not so bad that I mute the strings next to one I am fretting which has happened with some guitars I have auditioned in shops in the past.

Can I get the time back that I wasted on this thing?

I bought the same guitar in October '23 and the 3 issues you mention (Intonation, high E string 'roll off' and wonky control switch plate) aren't a problem on mine. Not meaning to show off or anything. Guess I just got lucky. Really love this guitar. I swapped out the black scratch plate for a white/cream with black trim. Looks lovely. Thanks for reviewing it.

Showing pictures of the actual guitar you're going to buy in a photo gallery is nice so you know exactly what you're getting instead of just going off the manufacturer's generic picture, that's one of the reasons why I buy from Sweetwater (as long as you don't buy when they're backordered). However, respectfully I think you're being just a little bit picky about the wood grain on the body and neck. As consistent as PRS's sound, they're kind of known for having inconsistent and unique wood grain pattern on each individual guitar. You just have to expect it with them imo. If that's an issue then I would recommend buying from places like Sweetwater or other places exclusively so you can be assured you're viewing an actual photo of your guitar, serial number and all. That's why I buy from them, because I really don't like getting something different than what the picture shows. They also send you an email with those high res photos of your guitar when it ships too. However, I took a chance and ordered a PRS SE SAS in Iris Blue while it was backordered and was worried I'd get a weird looking one, but luckily I got a really nice one. I ordered it on 2/16 and received it on 5/16. It was well worth the wait, but not knowing what it was going to look like sucked!

@10:17 looking at my Squire tele. that bridge does look like its 1mm to 2mm closer to the neck (based on the pickguard which isnt really a good metric) but judging by the intonation issue you got, that might be the case.

After adjusting the truss rod on my American Vintage II '57 Strat, which requires removing the neck, the high E string was like yours. I loosened the bolts and pushed the neck to the side while retightening the neck, and it fixed the problem. It's a neck pocket + neck heel "problem". It is wood afterall, and there's also supposed to be some give there.

love Capt Lees signature blues lick in the best, most sexiest of all the keys (sorry Nigel Tufnul!), the key of A! but for real it's insane to see how much Lee has changed over the years! i guess we all have, boy does time fly! and going to Andertons is like my only reason for going to the UK. that and checking out proper pubs, which might not exist anymore. idk about anti-smoking laws over there but in the States it's as dystopian as you'd expect. I seen a video by the 'top man' (American ) at Cort,PRS.He said the original prototype DGT se guitars were sent to the prs factory in America to make sure everything was up to spec.....but they obviously dont do that to ALL prs se guitars.... wouldn't make financial sense.

4:00 I am so jealous of your left thumb! I have spent my musical life wishing I could put my thumb over top of the neck and still play cleanly on the bottom.

I have the exact same issue with the high E string slipping off the side on my only Strat. It's a little bit odd since my Strat is a custom shop one. But I'll try to finally ask a luthier to place a new nut on my Strat to fix that. But it is exactly the same issue, low E has tons of space while the high E has barely any and it gets worse the higher up the neck I play. But my player plus telecaster, I have the jade green one that is almost like your's but with no middle pickup. That tele has the strings fortunately perfectly in the middle and for whatever reason I also don't have the same intonation issue. But I did have a very similar intonation issue with my Performer Fender Mustang. But after correcting the intonation, it's now been fine ever since, but there's no more space to make adjustments. But yeah, looks like you need a new nut to fix your Nashville tele. But no idea why the intonation was like that, but hopefully you never need to touch that again.

@marmadukewinterbotham: Would you happen to know the diameter of the tuners? I'd like to upgrade mine, but got no idea what stock tuners are installed...

Can't see you bonding with this guitar either. Those flaws will probably just annoy you. Pity.

I work with cnc machinery and unfortunately quality issues can arise due to many various reasons. Quality Control is the real issue here....how that has left the factory baffles me! I have just bought one of these guitars today so thank you for this video, i will definitely be looking to see if the guitar has any of these issues...and also, great playing 👍

I think the DGT SEs come standard in 11s

Mine is PERFECT.... No 2 guitars are the same. But that CAN be fixed....but it shouldn't need to be. Ugh...

Great guitar for sure, the only thing I would like would be rolled edges so the frets aren't sticking out as far from the edge of the neck.

The Seymours are no match for the Kinmans.

I'll mention Only one thing. Slow down video and stop at 0.21 and you'll See very important facts that no video about telecaster hade ever mentioned...👉Strings are Off Set to Neck center and E bottom string is almost off the neck. Look at neck pickup where is close to the neck. Youll see String E is on Edge of the neck. That means bridge plat isn't in line with neck center line.
