Safari Mack Explores North America: Puffins Part 1 #safarimack #alaskawildlife #puffins
Hey Safari Mack Fans! Wow, I personally can't believe we're done with January and that we're almost done with our time in North America, so don't forget to place your vote for either Asia or Austrailia as our next destination spot.

While I wish we could stay longer, we've been touring around North America since October of 2023! So It's definitely time to move on with our worldly travels.

I hope everyone's enjoyed my touring of North America and has had fun along the way. But for today let's continue on with the last few animals in Alaska, and then go out on a high note, so sit back, relax, and enjoy today's episode.

Till next week's part 2 episode, I'll see you all out there!

Safari Mack Explores North America: Sea Otter Part 2

Hello Safari Mack fans! Here we are with part 2 of the Sea Otter! Who would've guessed that this small and (somewhat) cute critter would play an important role in their environment. Well, we almost lost them and nearly saw the consequences for ourselves. Of course, one of the worst environmental disasters caused by us took a severe toll on the population and even after years of work, we're stil...

Hey Everyone! We're getting quite the Winter Punch! Hope everyone's well prepared and are getting through this Arctic Chill with flying colors. Speaking of cold weather, how well can you handle the cold waters of Alaska's Bristol Bay? Cause today we're going to hang out with the species that has the thickest amount of hair in the animal kingdom, the Sea Otter! An animal that to most might be re...

Hello Safari Mack fans! Hope everyone's off to a fantastic start and everyone's staying warm and healthy. Just like last year, I wanted to start off this year with a bird, and while not as big, or as majestic as the Bald Eagle that we used to start 2024, not only was this specific bird requested by one of my subscribers but also, since this is a bird that's associated mostly with Winter, I said...

Nachusa Grasslands Prairie part 2
มุมมอง 19หลายเดือนก่อน
Here's part 2! Well I had to take a long path to find a more efficient viewing point to try and see the bison I mentioned in part 1. Taking awhile but as I sought one thing, I found something that I wasn't looking for, a feeling of peace and connection. If anything else, I felt as if I had stepped back in time, to the 1800s when our American ancestors and settlers set out to find a place of the...

Hello Safari Mack fans! I'd like to consider this set of videos as a Christmas gift to all. Earlier this year, during my trip to Illinois to see my family, we took a small side trip to a special place, set aside by The Nature Conservancy of Illinois called Nachusa Grasslands Prairie. In this slice of Midwestern paradise, it's deemed as a model for habitat restoration and science, making it as o...

Great question and answer!
Beautiful bird. Thank you. Would love to get your opinion of the Avian flu causing the demise of the two Ft. Myers eaglets. How wide spread is this disease and what species is it affecting?
Thanks for the comment, as for my thoughts on the Avian Flu I see as this. While i feel sadness for the death of the Ft. Myers Eaglets, we all have to remember that this is nature, and we humans seem to think that pandemics happen to us, it can also happen for wildlife that we might be fortunate enough to not have it affect us. For Example, sea turtles have been experiencing a disease called Fibropapillomatosis, which causes these massive cauliflower like tumors to appear and if it gets inside their bodies can sadly kill them. At rescue and rehabilitation facilities for wildlife, it's been observed that while we cant get this virus, we can accidentally transfer the virus from one sea turtle to another. A few years back, I served an Internship at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and it was there that I learned about this situation from caregivers, and the rule was for volunteers or staff that worked with sick turtles and then be assigned to work with the institutions' permanent resident sea turtles, they themselves were required to quarantine for a period of time till they were allowed to come back, so as to ensure the health and safety of the animals. Hopefully for other bald eagle nests across the country, they'll have a more successful breeding season and the chicks will survive. However, I feel that because this may have originated from mass poultry farms, we as a species have to really rethink the way we're producing food for ourselves and become more reliant on local farms or small scale to avoid these situations.
@@Safari_Mac EXCELLENT response Mac. Thank you
Grazie a l'autore per interesante informazione .Con gratulazione 🎉

Beautiful animal
Great stuff, Mack. Still a little confused on the ferret gland! Ewwww!
For real!!!! 😂
Here's what i'm referring to.... Sea Otters don't have this, but as for everyone else... Mustelids have anal scent glands that produce a strong-smelling secretion the animals use for sexual signalling and marking territory.
GREAT segment on the sea otter. That is incredible that they eat 25% of their body weight each day! Wow! I can’t wait for part 2. Thanks Mack!
Thank you SO much for this informative series on the Northern Cardinal, especially on how to attract them. They are such beautiful birds with a song like no other. Thank you again.

Hello! Thanks for the video. Sumatran orangutans remain mostly in the trees to protect themselves from predators, particularly tigers.
