Funny, I wasn't watching the screen while this was playing. I knew side 1 ended at Oh Darling but I didn't think about it consciously. But my brain expected the gap from that song to Take the Long Way Home.... and that's what happened! Considering this is how I knew the album sequence from the vinyl I bought in 1979, this performed as expected! =)

This sounded like nothing else in 77 - groundbreaking. I was 13 and listened to this with those yellow foam sennheiser earphones popular at the time. It blew me away

I had this album ,vinyl of course ,friends thought I was a hippy ,and weird ,where's the lyrics they said ,

What happened to the music I used to listen to? I would put this album on and listen to it with my headphones. At the age of 17 years old. Still love this album.

When I was introduced to Kraftwerk, I forgot all about Oxygene til recently. I read a quote from Jarre that he found Kraftwerk boring and confused as to why they were still a thing. Maybe he was pissed that the intro to the single RADIOACTIVITY was lifted from the intro to Oxygene III?

CBC Radio used Oxygene as a musical interlude in the 1970s on their weekday morning shows and on Quirks and Quarks...

That threaded clasp holding the LP onto the turntable means you're serious about your vinyl. Respect!

Beautiful track and album. Along with Equinox. This was the theme tune to a program called tomorrow’s world that was on after top of the pops on a Thursday night throughout the 80’s. Mum said once that she it on vinyl in the cabinet. If she told me she had the album with the track on from the neurofen advert ( great gig in the sky) I would have discovered Floyd a couple of years earlier but I forgive her lol. I raided that collection in my youth one night on a visit back home . Mum still try’s to mockingly steal them back from my house if she sees the odd album around. “Hey…. that’s MINE!” 😂😂 It’s been a long running joke we shared over the years and provides great banter. Those were the first few vinyl’s I listened to. I do believe she’s chuffed I enjoyed her style of music from her youth. This was the start of a heavy but healthy addiction to vinyl . 35 years later after spending 30 of them as a dj, I have nearly 70,000 records. No time for tv. Got albums to listen to. I play most my tracks on my old technics dj decks but in my retirement I hope to be listening to them on a beautiful deck like your own. It’s stunning 👌 I’ll never sell vinyl. Don’t care how much they’re worth. Take care 👍
