You must have gotten very unlucky with where your quest spawn cause I had this dungeon and my target was in the room with the chairs and the potion that you couldn't grab. There's a few spots in every dungeon quest targets can randomly appear in, and some are far more annoying than others. Shame about dying when you finally did find them, too...that's Daggerfall for ya. PS: The statue in the room with the cells opens all the doors at once if you click on it before opening them yourself. Probably for the best you didn't do that. Also, you did leave the dungeon in your last episode, so you're having deja vu because the enemies do respawn if you exit (they can even change to a new set if you go up in level).
