Nice. My weighing videos are a PSA to show people to steer clear of loose packs because these methods exist. Do you have anything showing that they work to help people understand the dangers?

@gmPoke001 I do. I filmed it a few months ago, but have been filming new ones for the newest sets. The new ones are extremely detailed and may be boring as I delve into statistics. I’ve been going back and forth on this for a while as to whether I should release it. I go through how to know what’s in swsh packs, and then I share predictions before I open. Same with many S&V sets. I’d like to release without methodology, but I think I’d need to predict x amount of packs then have different camera angles otherwise ppl will just think I’m editing it

@ I still have some final editing and filming to do, then I just need to record the computer screen part. Let me think about it. I’m hesitant to share it with anyone. I either want nobody to see it or everyone to see it. I’ll let you know when I’ve finished it. The good thing is that Pokemon should be able to easily fix the issues if they change their manufacturing techniques and randomize pack order.

@@gmPoke001Cool, I’ll take a look. It’s possible to predict what kind of card(Vmax, sir, ir, v, alt v)cards are in a pack without a scale entirely for swsh. For S&V, it’s possible using the same methods, but statistical modelling is needed in some instances

@@nathanthorn1023I have a very detailed video I’ve made. I just don’t know whether I should release it. It would expose scammers, but could destroy or at least severely damage the loose pack market, especially if I were to release the video without redactions to methodology. I just don’t know if anyone else has gone through the lengths I’ve gone through for this, so I also don’t want to give a heads up to anyone either if the scamming isn’t as prevalent as it could potentially be. Certain sealed products are not immune to this either. SWSH needs very little analysis to know if it contains a Vmax or alt v for example. But… certain S&V sets need statistical modeling, which I don’t expect many are doing, but even then, there are simple ways to exclude the least likely packs to contain hits.

After opening LOTS of this set my pull rate on Glaceon was low compared to even gold cards.

Yes, sorry WNBA and Modern cards through off so my game was way off. Apologies, but I have about 15 more modern videos shot and in the can which keep improving. Excited to understand modern cards and finally comfortable with basics. Appreciate the views.

Thank you for the advice. Since I have some other recent modern breaks I definitely leaning towards grading. My fear is that by the time I get it back the graded card won't be worth the $300 it is raw currently.

Ya, I don't understand modern parallels. In 1987 you could ride your bike to gas station with $1.00 get 2 packs, and then sell the rookies to card store and come out ahead.

Mystery slabs boxes are like the lottery. The total value of the cards divided by the numbers is the buy price. If you bought all of them your make out even. But there a whole lot of people who love the gambling aspect. Watch the line of people draining money into pull tab boxes. To each there own.

Agreed, this video is almost 2 years old. Card was sold LONG ago.

How do you know there are more than 12k graded as PSA 10? Pokedata says 6k. Regardless, for the next couple years it'll be *relatively* cheap, however its still going up in price even after the sams club restock sooooo

Check active prices for it on priceCharting.com to see what you're risk reward is on grading if you're trying to sell. If you're putting in your personal collection them whatever makes you happy.

I have done that. There are small variants between card / card types / code cards / packs. But ultimately if someone knows what they're doing they can scam people. The purpose is provide a PSA about buying loose packs. But the data is fun when you have it.

I have never tried to see if they can. I believe that that variance in the cardboard and glue in the sleeved boosters would make it much harder to be consistent in weigh sleeved packs.

Not exactly. Older sets that was the rule, except a couple sets from SWSH had less weight was hits.

This is a 100% of why I make the videos just to help educate a little bit for entertainment.But as far as the slaved boosters go generally speaking, I've never really tried to do it with them.I think the cardboard itself would throw the weights off enough.Where it wouldn't be something.I guess I could try but since I don't actually use the technique for any profit.Besides putting on the show , I think I'll probably pass for now.

I just started collecting again not long ago and got burned by a guy on marketplace when I stupidly bought loose packs 😂 I don’t know too much but something about the holographic/textures and extra printing layers makes that rare card ever so slightly heavier, been that way since the beginning

@@NoahJVic thank you for the reply. I’m basically sticking to sealed products. But I’m also wondering if the solo boosters the sleeve are OK.

@@corranhands5 I think gmPoke001 is right about the cardboard making weighing tricky, as far as I know sleeved products are generally a safer and more reliable product if you’re worried about weighting. I would still be careful about people online selling either a ridiculous amount (could be weighed) or a very little amount (someone pulls the hits out a box and then knows the rest of the packs won’t be as good)

​@@corranhands5 even sealed isn't safe. People buy cases and will open the booster boxes. There's usually only 1 SIR in a case. 2 is possible but rare. So if they pulled the SIR already, they'll sell the rest of the boxes. Sealed but most likely no chance at a SIR

Why would they weigh when they can scan and see exactly what card it is
