Book 2 reads like steaming bowl of hot turds. The American super hero who beats everyone in the inferior world.

Book one reads like Ayan Rand, Atlas Shrugged. One little thing leads to another with catastrophic consequences compiling over time. Many years ago I warned my Egyptian Coptic friends against secession with Upper Egypt for the same reasons explained by the book.

Extraordinary

It is an interesting story but after about 10 hours in,have yet to see collapse of society. Thank God,no zombies. Like the movies but with few exceptions,the audiobooks are tiring."The Ghoul's jaws snapped as he lunged toward X's throat. The smell of rot filled his nostrils" Very predictable. This is more of a political/crime story,though.

Is there zombies in this book ? Not interested if there is.

Interesting, well written and narrated, but united we stand, divided we fall. The only part I found really disturbing is these rangers give rangers a bad rep of stupid, cutting/igniting a gas line and crawling in the basement????? A gas line would produce continued gas after igniting, possibly igniting the source such as a butane tank, burning evidence and leaving a crime scene. Thanks for the upload.

One thing i like about this story is how accurate the female president is aka Hillary. The woman would have doomed the American people in real life this is a fact.

Why did the narrator change for book 3?

Just a heads up to any listening to this book this is not a apocalyptic novel. Its more of what if conspiracy story and division the country its not bad its actually pretty good reminds me alot of the stuff happening right now yes even assassination attempts pretty accurate.

That sure looks like a old red brick or terracotta tile factory ,that makes more sense than a castle

ya the whole talking in the head thing ruins it for me sorry

The musical accompaniment is like "the Dukes of Hazzard"

The narrator s ( inner monolog ) voice is great 😂

To be certain, some of the Hollywood Clichés in this adventure are eyerollingly painful to endure: the nasty Irishman Drill Sergeant.. the misfits who turn into heroes.. the wily veteran Corporal who takes over from weak leadership.. the naive young Privates who discover who they are through the crucible of battle.. Luckily, Daniel Greene informs his authentic-sounding tale of frontline combat with exhaustively researched Civil War battle history (and the actual tactics employed) and paints a realistic picture with excellent combat description. Yes, the dialogue is somewhat sophomoric and definitely formulaic, but the microcosmic story is plausible and easy to follow. Once I was able to set aside reservations (expecting logical motivations or 3-dimensional characters, for example), this is a pretty fun romp of a story. Unfortunately, Bradford Hastings turns in a performance that makes suspension of disbelief more difficult. Don't get me wrong.. his diction, timbre, cadence, and tone are commendable and the technical support from Blackstone Publishing is admirably professional - but Hastings reads much too slowly (set playback speed at 1.15X), and his voice-acting is notably inferior (the Irish, German, and Polish accents among the Union forces are often laughable and the Confederate drawls are sometimes straight-up cartoonish). Taken altogether, 'Northern Wolf' rates a respectable 7 stars out of 10. Do not download it looking for edifying insight into life for soldiers in the Civil War or a thought-provoking interpretation of the role of cavalry at Gettysburg, but if your expectations are realistic, you'll get a fun diversion for a couple of quiet afternoons. Offering this book as a 'Plus' selection (included with an Audible subscription) is appropriate.. because it wouldn't rate a Credit if they asked. It's good enough to prompt me to give (the also free) Book Two a listen, but if you enjoy this genre in general and they request money - stick to Bernard Cromwell, Steven Pressfield, or Ben Kane.

The person in the blue shirt with glasses makes me nervous watching him. He mostly wants to use the chainsaw on everything no matter what the size is. He is constantly jerking around with the chainsaw and not doing any of the hard work. You other two guys are great.
