Different ages - different activities! #aupairinamerica #aifsabroad
Hey y'all and welcome back to a new video!
In todays video I want to give you an idea on what you can do with your host children. Different ages require different activities and attention towards the children.
It is also important to ALWAYS speak with your host parents about the ideas you have! Never just take them somewhere without them knowing and agreeing to it!
Let me know if you have any questions, I'm always happy to answer and help!

Hlo dia i applied through an agency and i was told that i have to pay program fee is it true?
Hi Anna, im new on your page but im sad because you've not made any videos in almost a year😢
I m live in Bangladesh
Hello mem
Where are you from Anna?
Hi, where were you an au pair?
I think it is in America different then in other countries, because Americans tend to be very superficial and don't come across to me as very thoughtful, so it depends where you become an au pair in the world?
How to apply aupair
Hello anyws I have meet a host family on Facebook from USAthey give their email to talk more and finally they aren giving me their what's up number so I don't what do to next , can I go ahead to look forward an agency Iam in Rwanda??plss this time help me
if you want to be an aupair in America you need to go through an agency. I would not recommend just finding families on Facebook without you having an agency in the back. They will tell you everything you need (paperwork wise) and will connect you with families who are in the same agency as you are.
Thank you for your insight about aupair. I want to join this program.
you should do it!
what agency did you sign up with to be an au pair?
I went with AIFS/ Aupair in America :)
How do I hire you?!
It’s such a great video! I am au pair also.
Is the host family provide the visa?
Thank you so much for this video! I honestly prefer reality checks to those romanticized videos. I want to become an au pair but I have such a hard time finding videos that show the downsides or what I should be prepared for. I just want to make sure to see all aspects and this video really helped with my attitude and mindset towards being an au pair. Thank you so much for this insight💞
I’m so happy to hear that! Good luck for your future ❤️
Hii, what do you think about being an aupair as 18 girl ? I really wanna go, but I'm opened mind... I know all the responsibility. My target doing a aupair program is improve my English as much as possible and get out of my comfort zone
Hello, can I ask a question? If we ask our parents to enroll us in the school when we go and then pay for it by working ourselves, would they accept it? I heard it from a girl. And do they enroll us in the language course the first year we come? And do we have days off? Let's say we want to go to a concert. Do they allow?
Do you mean your host parents or your actual parents? You chose your own classes through the organization or you local college depending what works best for your schedule and your host families situation. You can choose to do a language class or do that in your free time if you want. And yes you’re allowed to work 45 hours per week 10 hours a day. You’ll have time off to do your own thing/ go to concerts etc. I’m sure your host family will be excited to share their American culture with you!
@@annawilhelm5937 Oh yes, my au pair family gives me 210 dollars a month. Do they send me to this okey plus language course? Or is there no need? If the family speaks full English, can you learn it yourself in 1-2 years? I want to reach the C2 level because I want to live there. And I have another question, if I go back to my university. Can I study the remaining courses at a university there? Can I pay the fee with a scholarship or on my own? I guess I need to convert to a student visa to stay permanently, right?
Thank u Anna!iam a Chinese girl who want to be an aupair i wonder wether there is an age limitation?cuz iam 20 now
Yes it’s 18-26 y/o with aupair in America :)
Hola buenas noches
Hola buenas noches
That’s great ! I want my niece to experience that and become mature learn how to be responsible. I think people from beginning are like you said than they learn the life which they wouldn’t in most own families especially today kids don’t help parents like you said they eat and leave dishes behind i talk about teenagers around 16 y old they don’t do anything the parents do all the home responsibilities. I was aupair in England in London and then New York and California. I see my 19 y old niece struggling with life like find a job or have own room her whole life because her useless dad never worked 23 years she had hard life . Id like her to come to USA where actual I live past 20 years and I can help her out if there is any language or other problems even there is coordinator which helped me when there were problems with my host family and their 16 y ild son was ordering drugs and marijuana pipes on my name . Yeah I had some interesting family that’s why communication with your coordinator is important that’s why they transferred me to other family in California before Id get in very bad legal situation. I had 3 host families as aupair. Maybe I should make a video as well. My 3 th family was great but my second the kid was trouble maker and dad was Jewish and wanted me to do work on their 15 bedroom 7 bathroom house ! Gardening etc for free !!! My first family fed me only frozen bag of veggies I lost 20 kg and I was just Muscle I did bodybuilding prior my year in England 🏴 my coordinator saw me after 6 months and told my host family which was single father very poor and cheap , told him to feed me meat and get me gym membership because I lost the 20 kg it was actually in 6 months i lost that much weight, than it was better. So you need to talk to your coordinator some families try anything to use you , but others were more lucky Rich families and not so cheap they travel and get gifts like laptops etc . I was only one of 3 males 2 were gay so basically I was only one real man out of 80 of us Aupairs in New York .
I agree with you in everything you said
Anna, ur simply amazing! Wow! Thank u so much for being such an inspiration! Btw, where did you learn english, girl? It's just perfect!
Aww girl thank you so much, you just made my day 🥹 I learned it when I first moved here!
Is it possible to study online while au pairing like will i get the chance to study
You’ll have so so 6 credits while you’re doing your aupair year. If you sign up to be an Educare you need more credits and you work less hours nevertheless it does not count as an official college class/ degree. If you want to study study you’d need a student visa and enroll into a university/ college in the USA.
watching from philippines and thank you for your wonderful message much appreciate it, more videos upload being aupair and God bless😚🤗😊😇❣
Aww hey to the Philippines! I’m planning on filming a new video soon! Thanks for being here xoxo
how did you know for you that you had found the right host family
It sounds weird but honestly my gut feeling told me it was right. I tried to not have big expectations but my host family met every expectation. The way they spoke with me about their goals, expectations towards me regarding their children etc aligned with mine as well. I felt I can trust them and feel safe which is one of the biggest things! It was easy to communicate and I was smiling every time I spoke about them (kind of like when you find YOUR spouse lol)
I want to be your friend
Does anybody have recommendations of good and reliable Au Pair agencies to work in the USA? I’ve been an au pair for over four years and am looking for a reliable company that someone has experience with 🙌🏻Many thanks!
I went with aupair in America and I had amazing three years with this agency!
@@annawilhelm5937 oh awesome thank you🙏🏻🙏🏻
If you have like 2 kids and they are fighting for that one toys how do you solve that? How do you deal with a baby with tantrums?
I always true to observe on who had it first and if they can share it or offer an alternative. Tantrums are totally normal and I always try to be calm and speak in a calm voice, I ensure the child that it’s safe and hear and loved and that I’m here. Sometimes I pick them up and just walk around with them or get a book to distract them. Sometimes they just need to cry it out like we adults do too. I always try to validate their feelings and try to figure out why he/ she is upset. I hope that helps 😘

I used this and i wanted to know if they are not scarmers and i was asked to pay program fee enlight me about that dia@@annawilhelm5937
Just a question, im in the process of finding a host family/becoming an au pair. If you plan the afternoon when the kids are back and want to go to the kids museum does that come out of your own pocket?
no, I had a credit card that my host family gave me to do activities with the kids, buy them food or get groceries. If I did pay for something child related they always venomed me the money after. Good luck finding your host family and let me know if you need any support.
I have big experienced to being scammed because here so many host families who are not real that they still collecting money
I am so sorry to hear that!
Did you get that cowboy hat from the weekend class?
No my host dad bought me that one.
Is it bad to send pictures of you and your family during your day to your gosh family ? I’m in the talking stage with my family and we’ve had a few calls and the mom usually sends me pictures of her kids so i decided to send some today and I haven’t gotten a response from her so I’m feeling nervous that I did the wrong thing 🙈
Am currently studying for mine because i have one for back home but i need one for my state. Am so scared😅
You’ve got this! In which state do you live?
@@annawilhelm5937 Thank you. Am in New Jersey.
This is such a fresh new perspective and it made me think of alot of things. Thank you so much❤
Thank you for watching!
this is beyond relatable and im going through the exact same thing now

Hi darling thanks so much I work as house keeper I want to work as aupair in USA can you please help me
hey, where do you life? Try to look for an agency and you do need to have 200h of childcare and a prove of that additional to a valid drivers license and a Highschool diploma. (these are things you need if you're from Germany, not sure how it is in other countries)
hey anna! im considering myself as au pair as well so my question is how much does aifs charge for their service & yes i know it might be different for each country but can you give me an insight of your case thanks
hey, so AIFS offers three different programs: Classic 1.390 Euro, Professionals 690 Euro and EduCare 1.590 Euro. I hope that answers your question.
I loooove it, so touching😍
Thank you ❤️

Great video Anna 😍
Thank you!
Hey Anna, I'm curious did you au pair all the host families who reached out to you ? Say now you have set requirements that you prefer to work with kids over the age of 2, but a family with 4 kids( 2 under the age of 2 and the other 2 under age of 4), would you still do an interview or rather be honest with yourself because you know what you can handle ?
I the beginning I wanted to Au Pair for younger children due my English knowledge, so yes if I’d have gotten a request from a family with only teenagers I would’ve definitely spoken with them to hear their expectations but I would have been honest about my concerns! If they wouldn’t have matched I would’ve said no to be fair to myself AND the host family.
@@annawilhelm5937 so did you interview ALL the families that reached out to you, or did you send some families rejections notes ?
You’re the sweetest with the kids! We are interested in maybe hosting an au pair. I hope we could get someone like you in the future 😊
thank you! Let me know f you have any questions and good luck 🍀❤️
Where can I find an au pair like you? I'm a mama to a toddler and expecting another and I'd love to find an au pair who's so genuine and kind like you!
