I remember that scramble over the Riverside Rocks on the upper section after High Force, now try to imagine that with a 30kg backpack and a 5kg front pack with my camera gear in it, I did that section as part of my Darlington to Richmond Hike a few years ago aged 60, 4 very wet days in the rain walking from Darlington to High Force then over the hills to High Cup Nick before progrssing to Kirkby Stephens, Keld then finishing in Richmond, before catching a local bus back to Darlington, luckily for me my hiking pole can double up as a monopod to attach a camera Canon plus a 18 to 35mm and a 600mm lens to it, a vast improvement on my first Digital Camera way back in the early 1990s which was no bigger than a pack of 20 Marlboro and the images no bigger than a box of matches.
