GU PATROL UTE RUNDOWN (New Setup)
this video just covers the new setup of the patrol, my last rundown was filmed at the same time as this setup was being built so I wanted to showcase what you could build on a budget. This build was the dream setup of what I wanted on a patrol so a bit more time/money/effort put into it but couldnt be happier. Any questions feel free to ask cheers for watching :)

The human-sounding “Yiew-yiew” call is from a native animal called in the Noongar language Wudatji (woodarchie) in the Perth hills, Bulyit in southern coastal plain, and called Mumari in the Eastern Hills and Wheatbelt. They are about four or five foot tall, bipedal or quadrupedal. They can gallop as fast as a horse and are stronger than a man. More information on these animals is found on Noongar websites. Noongar people have a lot of folklore about these animals, and are watchful of their children because of them. You were very lucky to hear the calls. The feeling of dread is a sure indication they (usually more than one) were watching you. The other Wudatji that you didn’t hear would have been watching you from a completely different direction.
My Aunties used to scare the shit out of us kids at night when they'd start talking about woodarchies and feather foots.
That yew noise I'm 90% was a boobook owl. Other possibility is an owlet night jar
What happened to the 80
Hey mate, awesome video. Is there any chance of getting the location?
Fantastic Spot! Best you don't tell anyone where it is, too many dickheads will leave rubbish behind.
That noise you heard is not unusual in these secluded places. What you heard was the call of the native drop bear, you're just lucky what you heard was the acceptance call of a single drop bear enjoying the same view. One drop bear wont hurt you, but if you hear multiple bears making that sound that means they are hungry so best stay quiet and get out when the sun comes up.
Hey mate any chance on getting the location of this spot would love to be able to take the young bloke out there
Would love to know the location
wish someone made commercial 1900mm wide canopies :/, sick build dude
MRT does a 1900mm wide canopy mate! That's what mine is 😁 straight off the shelf if you go into their build my canopy section online you'll see 1900 wide is an option 👍
Anyone know where this is?
Anyone have any tips to find this place? Been searching for ages !
nice setup, am 17 and hoping to buy a crd zd30 ute soon and you have inspired me! cheers
That's awesome to hear man! Really good rigs these patrol Ute's 😉
@@isaacplace9093 yeah bloody oath, Ik it’s a zd but from research they can go well as long as you sort of the egr and boost, more or less I plan to borrow some of ur 💡 ideas but make it suit my future apprenticeship needs cheers
@notmkr-busta2937 You should be fine mate! From what I've heard the CRDs don't have as many issues as the di models did. Still take your precautions and change what's necessary but apart from that they're still a bloody good motor!
@@isaacplace9093 cheers dude yeah so far I’m thinking bigger intercooler, egr block/delete and a manual boost controller should be right from there. Gotta also figure out if I wanna go coil or leaf, Ik coils r always better for 4wd but I don’t know if the 10k difference is really worth it especially if it’s going to be a work Ute well
@notmkr-busta2937 Honestly I don't think the coil rear is all that important. That 10k can be used in so many ways so I wouldn't stress about tryna get one. Plus leafs have a higher gvm and spread the load across the rear of the chassis much better. You can also coil convert them for not that much in the future if you find yourself really wanting it. Turns out a lot stronger than the factory coil setup is!
Brother, can you pm me this place. It looks amazing. If not I understand
Hey mate! Any chance to get the location! I'm near Perth Hills and would love to try this one out! Will be respectful as always.
Where’d you get the sun visor storage from. Cheers
Hey mate, they're from a Perth based company called custom outdoor and marine!
Any dramas with the Po-lice with those LED headlights so far Isaac?
Hey mate, for the time I had the car had zero issues with cops hey! I'd say if your 80 isn't too crazily modified it should be okay :)
Finally found it! Will keep it how we found it, if not better!
Ive been trying for ages please any tips and promise to look after it
same here been looking for age@@jessb4535
Never Mind I found it 😁
@@jessb4535 Hey! can you share me the location please? :D
@@jessb4535 where was it in the end?
Finally found it! Will keep it how we found it, if not better!
Do you think you could tell me aswell and I’ll do the same
love to know where this is
did the dx come out with factory coils in the rear? I thought it was just the ST model
Hey mate, yeah the dx/st is more to do with interior and stuff. ST models just have a nicer more fancy interior like electric windows, individual more comfy seats, centre console e.t.c. but both coiled and leafs came out in dx and ST
nice Go the Patrol ! 🏞️🛻📹🤙😎
Great build mate. Well done with the fb marketplace deals! JRP gauges are great value for sure. Just wondering where u plumbed the water temp sender? Nothing compares to a coil cab td42, with a few mods. Once u get her tuned it’ll be a different rig again. My next mission is reduction gears. I’m saving up now 🤣. Cheers 👍🎯🍻
Thank you man! Appreciate the comment! I plumbed It into one of the ports on the passenger side of the engine just below the thermostat housing. There's ports on the housing itself but from memory it's important to go below it as that gives a more accurate reading. Hope that helps
Location please?
Spending some time driving around the Mt Dale area in hope of finding the spot. It'd be awesome if you could give me a hint - is there a hectic climb to get to this spot, or is it relatively achievable?
Could be out Red Hill way?
@@stevecam724 Watch out for the Owl Rock near Red Hill. Recently rediscovered. Near the mining tenement. Overlooking a small valley. Owl is sacred animal. If you search long enough online you’ll find it. Guarded by Wudatji. So be careful and respectful… or “Yiew-yiew”.
Location? Looks wicked mate 🤙🏻
Good little spot & nice cruisey vid 🤙 I would 100% be installing a rear facing floodlight & dash switch immediately. Stuff trying to reverse around the bush with stock reverse lights.
Yeah mate definitely, I've actually sold that 80 now and have a GU ute, have done exactly this! So much better for bush driving
@@isaacplace9093 A light & brand upgrade 😂 Good stuff
Hi, mate. Any chance you can share the location details. Will be much appreciated.
Took us a bit but found the spot. Thankyou for sharing an we promise to look after it mate.
Do you mind sending the spot mate. Cheers
Love to find this spot can you please give me a hint where it is
Some hits and pointers would be nice as well looks like a real epic camp site
Love your work - we are fledglings and are learning lots by watching experts like you :) Mark n Mandy
Thank you so much! 😄really appreciate it
Looks amazing, loved the spot, definitely love to solo camping, would you mind sending me location please. TA
Nice brother
That animal noise was most likely a fox.
Great video pal. Just moved to Perth with my family! I love fucking off into the bush on my own but. Good for the soul
Absolutely man, there's nothing like being in the bush with a fire, good food and relaxing. Drains all the negativity of the world away 👌
Hey Issac, is there any chance you can PM the coordinates. I really need a place like that for myself to get away. Sick video.
Great vid mate! 🤙🏼
Cheers mate! Appreciate that 😁
Would love to know the spot mate… need somewhere like that I can head away by myself.
Hey dude did you sort the 80 out? What was wrong with it Also love your mates old paj. my old boss had one I remember it was so comfy as a work car
I ended up changing the starter battery and it fixed it temporarily but still had the issue not long after, I actually sold the car not long after man so don't have it anymore unfortunately. Now driving a GU patrol coil cab ute 🙂 And yes his paj is wicked! That thing has so much character and is a bloody reliable little old thing very impressive what it could do!
@@isaacplace9093 cool man
Yowies paid you a visit in the night by the sound of it.
Wouldn't be surprised! Never heard anything like it while camping in the bush before
Looks like an epic spot! Would love to know where it is!
Looks to be near Mt. Dale, in Pickering Brooke. One of the smaller tracks in that area, all have great views
Where is this!?
Out around Mount Dale area mate
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew where you were camped!
It's a killer spot hey!
Any chance of sharing the location? I know it's around Mt Dale but can't quite find it.
Nice man. Love seeing young blokes getting around the solo camping!
Cheers man! It's definitely a different experience doing it solo compared to with others hey.
I really really want to know exactly where this is. I know its a hidden spot and you might wanna keep it private and I respect that.
If he wanted to actually keep it private, he wouldn’t of made a brag video lol.
Awesome spot mate
Cheers man! Hopefully we can all continue to get access to spots like these if everyone looks after them
Any tips on where that place is Isaac??
Its a hard to find spot located not too far from mount dale lookout, you get access to it if you drive through the pines area and take a few different back tracks
Any chance i could get a couple more clues? Im going there in 2 days by myself so im not going to trash the place nor will i let anyone know. Ill understand if you do tell me. @@isaacplace9093
Nice vid and nice car, mate!!
Cheers man! I appreciate it 😁
came across your video researching Jurien Bay, awesome video btw 👍🏾 that dirt road looked sketchy as in the dark
