Being powerful was such a big advantage in the 90s. Being powerful and athletic was like a cheat code, but from the 2000s onwards it became the basic necessity to become a top player. Camilla Giorgi was very powerful, yet didn't achieve much. Venus won a lot more because there was much more to her game than power.

Prime Venus had the best court coverage in the history of women's tennis. Only few players could match her foot speed, but none had her reach. The few who had her reach didn't have her foot speed. She had a very complete game. She's just incredible.

I seem to remember her 2005 final with Davenport had some long rallies too

2017 Venus was something special. Most of the tourneys she played she lost to the eventual champion. It broke my heart when she lost that Wimbledon. Her Indian wells run that year was also something to see!! The WTA finals that year was also some of the best fighting I’ve seen from Venus whom I’ve watched since I was 10 years old. Incredible.

She moved like a panther in this tournament. Nobody else can pounce on the net like her. The Ivanovic match is the perfect combo of power and grace.

In the 90s her rally tolerance was incredible too.

The only thing I wish is that you'd shown the years. Unlike Serena, Venus is NOT interested, and never has been, in long rallies. Serena doesn't like them either, but she'll grind. Venus... only if she absolutely has to, especially later in her career.
