Parkour Races | Devlog #6
I have added parkour races to my game to let players experience all the movement mechanics. There are five races in total, each one harder than the precious one. Your time is tracked, and you’ll earn a gold, silver, or bronze star depending on how fast you complete the course.

The parkour system has come a long way, smoother animations, and much more fluid gameplay!     I think the menu looks good in general. But it would maybe look better if you changed the buttons a little bit

    inparkour cilization theres is a fornidden art called parkour reces, that was sealed by a previous parkour champion for the wellbeing of parkour civilizatoin, but, what if parkour races were discovered again today?

    I love the grapple hook concept, something I feel is undermined in the gaming community. Also as a suggestion, think about adding maybe a wingsuit (later craftable) that you can combine with the grapple for added movement like just cause 3. Keep up the great work!

      @@gamingcrater102 Thanks! The grapple hook is one of my favourite mechanics in games. The wingsuit is a nice idea, I have also thought about ziplines and such, but I don't want to make the traversal too easy. I think those additions will come later, once I have an idea of the scale and shape of the game's map. I will definitely keep it in mind!

      @@ruvenrey786 Unreal's blueprint system makes it easier to understand if you have no coding experience, and there are really good tutorials out there for beginners!

    This looks really fun. Personally I would look at the wall running some more, currently its like the player sticks to the wall like a spider and glides across in a way that feels unnatural. I would like to see a slightly more realistic approach, where your falling speed is reduced (eg 1/2 of the normal fall speed but should be fine tuned) and that modifier is proportional to your horizontal speed, which of course should reduce faster than if you were free falling. In my opinion, pulling off trick jumps would feel far more rewarding that way.
