Bird came in his rookie year and took a 29-33 team to 61-21 and the ECF final. They got McHale, a rookie, who didnt even start and Parish, a three year vet, for a couple of draft picks. The Celtics won the title. Birds second season. Jordan? Lebron?

@@georgemccormick4786 Yeah, I've always said Bird did more in that rookie season which shows how he's so great, took him just 2 years to win a title but that first rookie year by Bird, he lost to Dr. J. in the Eastern Conference Finals, so Bird was too great and he didn't have the type of athleticism that Jordan and LeBron had so how did he do it? He knew how to play basketball, he understood how to use his teammates, create angles, played the full court and half court game while rebounding and being able to play both inside and outside while being great at the line -- Bird knew how to win. Bird and Magic are guys the league will NEVER see again.

Dunking does occur in the WNBA, for instance Britney Griner has dunked many times and dunked a lot in college. She didn't do this this year due to an ankle injury. But part of the lack of dunking can be blamed on high school and college coaches. My own high school in the mid 80's for two years had girls who were 6'6 and 6'4 girl who both dunked in a few games, but the coach didn't really want his players to dunk. The shorter of the two ended up playing for the Indiana Hoosiers in the early 90's and not once dunked in college.

@@deansouthwick1906 Perversely, Swoopes has been an outstanding publicist for Clark. Every stupid and/or flat out wrong thing she said provoked fans and commentators to push back. Likewise, her glaring omissions of Clark brought her rebukes for ignoring gameplay that was setting the league on its ear.

FOR me, I would have likely picked up on my interest for the Rest of the WNBA and would have likely tuned in on the rest of the playoffs--at least for a few minutes here and there, if not for the hate and racism and violence and mental attacks on Caitlin Clark. Had Caitlin been treated neutrally or unbiasedly, non-prejudice, I would be okay watching other players or teams. But due to my moral values, there is No Way No How I can support all the racism and hate towards Caitlin from The WNBA/Refs, NBA (they pay the WNBA), and most of the media (BSPN, ABC, Disney, etc), that is the reason. I feel many other CC fans would have also watched at least a little more of the other teams. The Fever WOULD have won their first series vs The Sun and from there maybe have even won the whole thing. But, The WNBA/Refs and the media mentioned above were not having any of it and instead resorted to hate, racism and prejudice, attacking Caitlin's greatness at every turn, which is why they ROBBED her of at least a CO-MVP, and they tried to rob her of the ROTY, too. Now, those evil and wicked BSPN ladies (they know who they are) and others are praising Caitlin and appear happy she won the ROTY ONLY because they robbed her of the MVP award AND because Reese was "injured." These are the reasons why many of us feel vomiting when thing of the WNBA when Caitlin is not playing. PLEASE TUNE IN (IF ABLE) TO WATCH CAITLIN PLAY GOLF THIS SUMMER!!!

Quit with the 62 bs. That list is full of fake manufactured records. She had the best rookie year ever in the wnba. But she did not break 62 records. They do not even record 62 statistical categories.

The fastest to 300 pt and whatever assists and whatever rebounds is not a record. Being the best in a standard recirded statistical catergory is a record. She is the best rookie ever. He numbers for this season put her as one ofthe best players in the wnba. No need to embellish her performance in any way.

In fact I think there's a video of one of her HS games in which fans of the opposing team chanted "OVERRATED" in unison. That was at the beginning. By the end they were quiet, because Caitlin Clark had scored 60 pts on them.

@@imChriss2 Can add in the 76ers, the Hawks and the Bucks back then. It was the Celtics, 6ers and the Bucks that played some of the best playoff match ups in basketball. They were all brutal teams to play against. Those guys would kick the crap outa each other. The Hawks and the Celtics too. Was a completely different game back then. Many still feel the Lakers had a cakewalk to the finals those years. The best teams were in the other division kicking the crap out of each other. The game was brutal in the East. It's why the Pistons hired a full hockey team, the Bad Boys. They got sick of the Bucks and the Celtics kicking the crap outa them. There were a lot of punches thrown throughout those years.
