Hi, we're a husband and wife motorcycling couple from SW Scotland. We started this channel as a way to look back at things we do but thought we'd share our trips out and moto camping exploits with you guys.
Hopefully the channel grows and please subscribe to follow us on our travels.

A Windy Motorcycle Ride Across Scotlands Border & On To Kielder
มุมมอง 1134 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our first go at doing a video, we have the bikes, we have the cameras but have no idea what to do, say or how to edit lol. It`s just a local run out for us, across the border into England then around via Kielder. Just for good measure we picked the windiest day possible to debut our video production (lack of) skills.
can u tell me your camera set up, I E what camera in what position wanna do some riding vlogs
@JustKipper hi, gopro 11 on a chin mount, gopro 10 on the bars and sometimes another 11 on either Lizzies chin or rear facing on my top box. For audio we have a purple panda lav mic in each helmet coupled to a dji wireless mic, the receiver for the mics mounts on the gopro 10 and records to that one via a gopro mic adapter. Then to make it easier to sync everything a gopro remote on my master cylinder to start all the cameras together
@@LizAndRichGo thank you good sir!!! Much appreciated
Two quid 🤣🤣 Stereotypically tight ? nice video very enjoyable.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, yeah, I come across as a full on miser 😂😂
I would like to do it again and take more time, enjoyed watching it from your perspective :)
@RidingThroughGrief thanks for watching. We will definitely be doing it again, maybe the other way round? Not sure yet.
i was in Torridon last Wednesday looking for Callum.. Gutted about his demise.. i had bought carrots from the Tesco in Ullapool for him .. :(((.. my west coast tour .. keep safe you two. look out for passing place blindness . I am pretty sure all SUV drivers suffer from this, but it must have mutated to small family runabouts.. :))🤓🤓💯
@tartanblackcountrytourist it's pretty sad, poor guy. I don't quite get why you'd even be tempted to feed him anything for humans. Apparently, his teeth became really rotten, so he couldn't graze, there was no option but to PTS. Passing place blindness🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well done on apple cross , Have watched your whole trip so far and its been really entertaining with some pretty good camera work . Plus the two of you have good banter as well .
@user-cg7oy2dm5u Thanks very much, appreciate you watching. Glad your enjoying the trip. Applecross isn't as daunting as the hype suggests, but you still need to have your wits about you. The weather definitely makes or breaks it too.
I live in Aberdeen so have done it in all weather . It is much better when the sun shines .@@LizAndRichGo
We've fell lucky with the weather the times we've done it as a holiday. I've been all round the north coast working and certainly wouldn't want to do it as a holiday in some of the weather I've seen up there 😂
Brilliant video, what are the bikes ?
@@ianroberts7195 hi, thanks. They are both triumph tiger 800 xc. Best bikes we've ever had from a point of getting out on them. Done more miles on these than any other bikes we've had.
@@LizAndRichGo ok good, i have had 3 tiger 800’s cracking engine, keep up the good work
@ianroberts7195 will do, hopefully will get some more videos done if it ever stops raining 🌧
Great vid magic to see someone doing wee mad road
@@johncarmichael8367 it's a crazy little road. Just wish the go pro picked up how steap it is in places, those that's never been don't get any indication as to the ups and downs, twists and turns. Thanks 😁
@@LizAndRichGo definitely one of the best roads I have driven
Many great roads, enjoyed the video, everyone seems to miss out the famous pie shop/cafe in Lochinver. The roads are very busy now, I lived in Inverness until 91 and apart from the town centre it was all very quiet around the highlands. Last time I visited I couldn’t believe the increase in traffic. What’s really annoying and can be a bit more dangerous especially for bikers are drivers who have no idea how to drive on single track roads and take the barging through city attitude with them. When poor driving skill is put together with a camper van that doesn’t fit the road it can be a recipe for disaster.
I must admit I didn't know about the pie shop otherwise we'd have been straight in there 😂😂 We've been going up there since the late 90s/early 2000s and have also noticed a huge increase in traffic. Don't get me started on some of the campers/motorhomes, last year one came belting down a single track road, we'd stopped and pulled over yet he still managed to hit my pannier, fortunately there was no damage other than a white paint mark on it but could have been so much worse. Although we have a camper and have done that route before, there's no way we'd do it again due to the stigma attached to them and bad driving that tars everyone with the same brush. Plus it much better on the bikes😊
@@LizAndRichGo We had an incident with a camper back in 2018. We followed it with three or four cars between us down miles of single track, they pulled over letting the cars pass. I kept well back then when the single track ended I went to overtake. He pulled over onto the other side blocking the road, I thought it was just an error not watching what he was doing but then he repeated this another four times before we managed to pass.
Hi` just started following you guys , d one the 500 in both directions and its interesting to see it from another perspective . You two have great banter .
@user-cg7oy2dm5u funnily enough, we said after this trip we should try it the other way. We've gone this way a few times now. I'd imagine it seems a completely different trip. Many thanks for subscribing...Liz and Rich 😁
Nice doing it next week for first time 🙂
@AdrianBrooks-bi4dv hope you get some half decent weather. Probably be a bit busier now but enjoy it and have your smidge ready 😉
@@LizAndRichGo not to fussed about weather it always rains in the UK booked full week to take time to do it just ride and have fun 😊
@AdrianBrooks-bi4dv you will love it, the roads are perfect for it. Smile from ear to ear with views to match.
What an interesting scenic ride without covering huge miles. Who knew. Thanks.
Thanks, glad you liked it. It was only about 115 miles, though I could easily have made it a 3hr video with all the spectacular scenery.
Nice video, Durness has Cocoa Mountain chocolate shop and cafe just a little out of town on a craft estate, think it’s an old army camp.
We did think about going there, but Rich only likes crap Mollys chocolate from Tesco...45p 😂
Hawick (pronounced Hoik) was a mill town like most border towns making woollens for export and local markets, my mother worked there in the 50’s.
@SouthWest-jj8yu awww so we were on the right track. We are near Langholm, which is or was the same. Thanks 😊
@@LizAndRichGo should have said you surprised me at the end coming down the Grey Mares Tail road towards Moffat then said welcome to Lockerbie👍
Loving this you two! Great fun! 😊
Cheers Jon
Wait for part 2 😂😂😂
@@LizAndRichGo bring it on! It’s looks great!
Liked and subscribed my friend .. I love how you really really love each other ..😅😅💯 . Me and my Paulina are the same .I regularly tell her to jump or get out and push to up my miles to the gallon and get some of the flak off her arse 😅😅😅. The banter is just about petfect ❤❤❤💯 🤓😆😆
Thankyou, got to have some good banter, we are best mates enjoying the ride, how it should be. Good to hear you've got the same going on. Makes life so much easier.😊
Episode 2 should cause some giggles 😂
@@LizAndRichGo large fish and chips involved😆😁📽🎬 I hope :))))))))))
