Getting married in today's climate is definitely a risk for men and a complete joke, especially given the fact that women initiate divorce more often than men on average. Numerous studies have shown this. In fact, nearly 70 percent of divorces are initiated by women (not for infidelity). In addition, the court systems tend to favor the women when it comes to divorces, meaning they get alimony, etc. Men have very few rights in divorce court.

U look fabulous for 50 yrs. Congratulations and best to you in your future. Ppl don't do it much anymore, but I married my bride when I was 22, she was 19. Gave birth to our first b4 she was 22 and had our 3rd and last b4 she was 30. Here we are 54 yrs later and it's still great. But like I said, ppl don't do it that way anymore and that is a DIRECT result of 3rd Wave Militant Feminism and the men are considered bad baggage now bcuz of all the baseless complaints against Patriarchy and esp white patriarchy. But wymn still do not understand, in spite of themselves, that LITERALLY everything they have and use (with the exception of make-up maybe) comes to then thru men. Listen to Charlie Kirk on that bit of info. Girls (young wymn) are taught by their peers and older wymn to hate and despise men and to use them and that's what they do and after 10 or 20 yrs of that mindset they wonder why men are so unreachable - DUHHH.

Ms. Quinlan, don't sweat the passage of time when searching for your special someone: When I was in my mid-twenties I was introduced to the young lady who would.....eventually, become my spouse. My girlfriend grew-up in a family of four brothers. She became tougher than her brothers. The entire family practices the martial arts. My 23 year old girlfriend was a black belt in Karate, Tia Kwan Do, Jujitsu, and Judo. Somehow, she expected me to also be a practitioner of the martial arts. I learned how to box and that's about it. One day, when when we were walking back to my car, she uses some kind of take-down on me, which not only fractured my skull (on the concrete walkway), but also broke my right arm. I tried to stand up but couldn't due to multiple momentary syncope. I asked her to please find a phone and call for transportation to the nearest hospital (unfortunately for me, the closest hospital to us was County U.S.C., where I was a 3rd year resident). I awoke two-days after surgery. My parents told me that my car is now evidence, and can't be released until after the arraignment of the thief. I remained off-from work for two-weeks. L.A. County Sheriffs office called my parents and told them that the thief would be arraigned the following Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. My parents drove me to the L.A. courthouse and we waited to see the person who stole my car. Sure-enough at 1: P.M., the court was called to order, the case was announced and the perpetrator's name was announced. It was my GF. The day she incapacitated me, my GF went back to the Bobs Big Boy to retrieve my car, and (no big surprise), she used it as her single mode of transportation for the next three-days. The LAPD pulled-her over and arrested her for grand theft auto (GTA). To this day, forty-two years later, she refuses to play GTA with me. OH, to this day, I still carry a loaded 45 acp handgun in holster around the house with me, just in case.
