Seems the folks that hunt there have to buy a wildlife management area permit just to be able to drive on the roads. Seems only fair if everyone else could do the same. I do think a warning instead of a citation would work for you. But hey you took one for the team.

Some people forget it’s like driving, it’s a privy not a right. If you don’t like the rules, go elsewhere. The way I see it, fees are there to help keep the park open.

You need to hit close to a 30° breakover angle as a point of reference. To do that , unfortunately it usually takes 37s and a 3 inch lift or so on a gladiator. You might have already done it but I can put the numbers in here anyway. These are roughly the stock numbers. The stock breakover angle is basically a Subaru Forester , unfortunately. Approach angle of 43.6 degrees, breakover angle of 20.3 degrees, departure angle of 26 degrees and ground clearance of 11.1 inches. The stock mid vehicle clearance is actually 12.3 inches to achieve that stock angle, based on the math. Going up 6 inches from tires and lift (tires count for this) youd be at 30°. Just to beat a stock 2 door wrangler Rubicon, you need to be 17.3 inches off the ground to hit 28.3° breakover. Thats up 5 inches. To hit 29.9 ° (basically 30) , youd have to go up 6 inches from a combination of wheels and tires. Question people should ask when they are modifying their off-road vehicle, is how do I get to or pass like 27° break over. If you have a stock two-door Rubicon you're pretty much there... If you want to just have a little bit more I would say just do it 2-in spacer lift and you're good or even just go up on the tires a little bit. You don't need to really do anything to a two-door (unless you're doing rock buggy type activities). But anyway if you look at the top off-road vehicles in stock form they're close to 30° breakover so that's the number to hit. If you pass that you're getting into pretty insane capabilities.
Now that is some impressive details to share. Thanks for the breakdown. I am so glad I went with the 37's, and not the 35's, and with the 4" lift, feel it works great, but we hopefully can push the limits in 2024, with the roof top tent, we shall explore a hell of alot more. Richloam wildlife management area* known as richloam WMA. You should come back now that wet season is coming up. One more month and richloam should be very wet!
Oh I'm definitely going back soon. Haven't been offorading during hurricane season. Lol. If you know the trails i'd be happy to meet up. The last trip was so tight i got so many scatches and one branch through the rear wheelwell. Cant keep doing that without wrapping the truck.
I live about a half mile way from richloam. I could definitely show you some good trails to go on. Me and the wife have been out every weekend lately in our wrangler. Raining here again now. It will be nice out there soon.
@@theoffroadfamily sounds good man, we can def plan something. Im live in Citrus, 20 min from Citrus WMA, so same thing if you want to come around here, but think Richloam has more challenges.
Nice! I know exactly where citrus is just haven’t done much riding up there. We mainly stick to richloam. Haven’t recorded much yet but I’d love to start.

Was driving through a parking lot last weekend and got flagged down about a jeep club meet. They showed me where to park before I even got a name. Never met them before might not ever a again but jeepers are always welcoming.

@Trail Stompin You did turn it down alittle. I appreciate that. Pretty dried out trails in Richloam right now but just wait a couple months even the grade roads will be flooded. You guys found some good spots though.

Jeeps Unlimited just opened up in Polk City. Great people if you are looking for accessories. Becareful in Richloam can get bad quick. Never trust a puddle even if you were there last week. Love riding there and it be close to me makes me happy.
Thanks for the heads up. Yeah, thought there would be water, and was dry as a desert. Lol. We did have 2 months of no rain. Sunset made it worth it.
Just trade it in for a 4 door or 2 door. That long wheel base is a killer on trails.
You are correct my friend, it does make it harder also my clearence, which will improve, but was a wifey requirment. Lol. Also i didnt know how great the Jeep life/ Offroading life is. ;)
