I do not build any C.A.M.P. for cosmetics. I build it for ME to use. Especially since the 'building' blocks are not user friendly...i.e., not being able to place a foundation in a location where in the REAL world, a builder could either excavate, form up and pour concrete ( against a rock wall for example), etc. I gave up trying because the grind just takes too much time. Not to mention managing weight!

the worst camps imo are the ones with everything scattered on the grounds outside their prefab or house.

I'm glad you're taking this interest in camps. Mine are not great but you should watch for my friend, Blueice & talk to him about his camps as they are really something. He will likely be very willing to show you them. You won't believe some of the stuff he does! I find with my camps that once I put in the basics to help my character with buffs etc., I have very little budget left & can't believe some camps I see & how they managed their budgets. "All the best camps look alike" - maybe on XBOX?

Yep, some players, (probably quite a few actually), simply do not care. A camp for them is only a place for workbenches, storage and resource generators. One big square box or prefab, one door, no windows, workbenches and beds plopped around the walls in that one big room. I'm not sure I would even call those "bad camps", for a camp to be bad I would say some effort to make a good camp was attempted but failed miserably. These are simply "no effort whatsoever camps", they are utilitarian and nothing else.

Hard to pick, all were very good but all very different. Im a sucker for clean modern builds however. I have one I just finished that turned out pretty darn good if I say so myself. Another great video Wolfy!

If you really like building so much, go play Fallout 4. No bad camps of others to see plus 20+ settlements to build. Limitations in F76 are so severe you can hardly build anything sensible. My own camp is pure function of the vendors and workbenches and I like it that way.

Most of these bad camps are noob camps. Those guys don't own any good stuff from the atomic shop, score board or seasonal events. You all should keep that in mind. If you want to challenge yourself, build a nice camp with the basic stuff only. 😊 But you're right. Every time I see another flat platform build on Seneca Rocks that's blocking my camp, I'd like to burn down the whole thing and ban the builder for 6 months straight. 😅

I think what bothers me the most is where someone does a best camp to be judged, That's nothing but pre fabs. I don't consider that a considerable vote. And I love building. Thank you for sharing.

That's one of my very few complaints about FO76 the build area is too small, and the build budget is also too small, for a game as big as it is, I think we should have larger areas to build in.

I really liked how you built your military base! I've never done one, but incorporating the watchtower the way you did was really cute.

I like visiting other camps and shelters just to see what other people have done and sometimes it inspires my own builds - the 'I didn't know you could do that' or "Oh, that's a different way of using that item" Some camps you can tell they just put things down in response to challenges that have come up. I prefer camps have a theme or that tell a story about who lives/lived there.

I've been seeing soo many bad camps lately, like they just vomit everything they have all over the lawn and I'm standing there for ten minutes trying to find the damn vending machine. lol

I built a mechanic's shop at/around that red building in the Cranberry Bog - didn't like it as I didn't get what I had originally envisioned. It was a bit finicky putting things inside at time and they'd end up on the roof but blueprinting the item then building the blueprint fixed the issues I had with it. Now if I could find a place to build using the destroyed highway set I'd be happy - too many things get in the way or it doesn't look immersive (telephone poles or hills in the way.) All the roads where I wanted to build it had some sort of blocker that made the set unusable or unimpressive.

I’ve constructed and torn down a few CAMPS, part of it because I had new ideas. Other times because I wanted to keep from having to jump into a different world. First one was in the abandoned house near Slocums Joe/wayward. Second, near the second Flatwoods welcome sign, then near Tyler County Fairgrounds, the Mad Hatter table, then a Whitesprings golf course bathroom, the Raider tower near the Whitespring station, and also by Alpine River Cabins. The last one is beautifully spooky, the Cabin area is haunted by ghosts, there are screams, ghouls forested area with dead trees and seismic activity. It’s weirdly invigorating at night in the game to run out to the cabin area without your pipboy light knowing you’ll be jump scared by ghouls 😂☺️ next to the events, building is my next favorite thing to do.

I am almost sorry you suggested the location with the standing stones around 3:07; I am currently working on my fourth camp in that spot!

Always cool when people do camps with themes. How I fake out my budget is to build in an area with static objects. My Raider themed moonshine shack CAMP is by the Whitesprings station with the Raider looking tower, ended up looking like a Raider castle. And at the campground overlook by Tyler County fairgrounds, I built my Fasnacht clown/jester mask museum, the picnic tables there are part of a little eatery where my food resources are. My third house was built on top of a Whitesprings golf course bathroom so it looks like a 3 story house, a break in the collapsed wall is my ‘gate’ leading down to my workbenches ☺️ we don’t do normal here

My favorite 'shelter', so far, is actually a cave you can only get to by going under water. Very small area, so I only have a sleeping bag and a guitar there. Above, I have my workshop stuff, and a couple vendors in the 'seedy shack', with some turrets, to keep the 'baddies' at bay. Low-profile.

the other day i seen a wild camp someone made, they had a cave with a boat, and a small coastal town then a medieval castle and moat and a medieval village inside

I'm on Xbox, and as soon as I finish my other two shelters, I will let you know. All my shelters go from one to the other, starting with the utility. I tried to make it so that people would find the next shelter door.🤔 in one of my shelters, I got an idea from I think it was Nuka violet. It was a cityscape in the server room shelter, so I kind of did a variation of that, but I changed it, so the shelter is from the movie aliens. I also did the Bada Bing from The Sopranos, and in the suburb area, I did it from the TV show "From" the campground one I actually was going to do Friday the 13th but then I changed it to just being a camp that was overrun by werewolves. I really like building it's a lot of fun but I don't do a heck of a lot of merges. I don't have the patience for it😂 that Jurassic Park shelter in the suburb one was fantastic idea. It's so hard thinking of different ideas to put in certain specific shelters. The casino one is driving me insane LOL I did a zombie apocalypse thing in there. I'm still thinking of changing it not sure but I really just don't want to do a casino

From a creativity standpoint, I get the appeal of shelters, but between the relatively cumbersome nature of accessing them, and the inability to place many objects, makes them unappealing to use beyond daily or weekly challenges. Maybe if we could fast travel directly to our shelters...

Yay, more love for shelters! I have a vault complex I've been working on for years. When they finally shut down the servers I'll still be trying to line up that last bit of junk on a chessboard merge 😅

Just an idea.... but if you ever want to showcase just one awesome camp in order to do it full justice, I'd be happy to watch that. It may ease any pressure to "have" to find 5. Speaking for myself, it can be feast/famine when it comes to finding/looking at nice camps.

I lock the doors of shelters I haven't built in yet as I have most of them - why have someone waste time going to other shelters that have nothing in them yet. I gave up building floors and walls in the lobby shelter. Now I just role play my character is a member of the Enclave and that the camp is built over a vault they've repurposed. I have a mannequin dressed in an Enclave uniform at a barricade when you spawn in, shelves with items on them and miscellaneous junk and stash boxes, PA display chassis. That is where all items collected by the members are processed before being taken in for reuse. I used the vault stairs to put an upper floor which has an office, jail cells, interrogation room etc. A lab is set up in the small room and that leads to another shelter - I've tried to make it so that my shelter directions make sense so there is both the default exit and a door leading to the previous shelter. Some shelters retain the original vault look and I've just plonked things down for the theme in different rooms while others I do start building floors and walls.

I LOVE finding cool shelters with doors to other shelters and its all set up sooo cool PC camps use mods and REALLY IMPRESS me! Wish you had PC my friend Ashimar has a great casino build by the mall lol. I hate its not cross platform but don't see Bethesda ever being able to accomplish something like that without making a whole new engine and a whole new code. It feels like they are just riding this one out as long as possible and I just started playing a year ago after owning it since the beginning cause I'm lame and don't enjoy PVP I give everyone I see stuff lol.

I wish we can change the lighting in the shelters. I have the town square shelter and want it to be nighttime so the lights can look good.
