Toyota 22R gets GM ignition (kinda)
มุมมอง 3K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Today I installed a 4 pin Gm ignition system on my 22r. As usual everything went poorly, and it didn’t work like it was supposed to. There will be a follow up soon where I will get this working right (hopefully). Ratchet Carnage!
มุมมอง 273 ปีที่แล้ว
I was doing a bit of mechanic work the other day when I broke some ratchets. I want to go ahead and put this in the Comments I was not able to get it in the video but I did email Tekton and they sent me an email about five minutes after I asked for a replacement on that breaker bar. They are sending me a new head for the breaker bar. I highly recommend if you were looking for affordable tools ...
Nilight 12 inch light bar

This is a short demo of a nilight 12 inch light bar from Amazon. This particular unit has been on my ATV for about 2.5 years and has held up wonderfully for a $22 unit. The link for this light bar is below. Nilight 12 Inch 72w LED Light Bar... www.amazon.com/dp/B00WE46ZWC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The output is from 30v. How have you guys fed them 30v? I know a second battery in series would get 28v, but seems like overkill. 2 capacitors in series would work. What do you recommend?
Good idea to stuff a rag in the intake. To keep debris or dropped screws/bolts out if u drop them.
Did you mess those bulbs up being a clown and hitting trees or did they actually fail on their own
How wide are the individual tire cradles ? I have a Grizzly SE with the square tire set up, so the front tires are wider than usual. I’m wondering if the tire will fit in the cradle (I know overall width isn’t a problem). I looked online and they don’t say how wide the individual cradles are
Thanks, all the videos I saw on this jack, people are lifting lawn mowers. I bought it to lift my Honda Rancher ATV so I can install skid plates. The method you used to lift your ATV is exactly what I was planning to do. Good to see someone do it with success now I know that I bought the right lift. I do have a zero turn too so I can use it to change blades but that was not my main reason for buying the jack.
Im glad it helped you choose which lift to buy. I don’t use mine as often as i thought i would. But it is handy for all kinds of things.
use blu-rite
by the way you need to clean that atv up a tad lol pretty dirty to be working on
The sad thing is. That was clean lol
normally when 700 starts stalling so on its injector or fuel pump dirty air filter you did all that and still stalled just the injector my friend
on the grizzly 07 to 14 after the miles you put on it just change the injector with new oem 8 or 12 sprayer and it will be fine..... buy the way if you dont hear ticking in the motor leave the valves alone..... use closed end wrench on valve nut and smaller open end wrench on top use them together hold top one in place while you tighten nut
I will look into the injector. Thanks for the info. The grizzly has sat for a while. Between buying a SxS and having a kid. I haven’t had time to ride it. It is showing symptoms of an electrical issue now. When it get wet she dies.
Thank you 😅
This was helpful. Thank you!
Pto fluid? Hydraulic fluid 😂

How those whips holding up
They are doing great! I have had no problems with them. All the LEDs are still lit, which is a problem I have had with other cheap LED lights. The remote system has been underwater several times and has not given me any issues. I do have some problems with the quick couplers at the base of the whips. Your supposed to be able to take them off like an air chuck, but i do a lot of gravel road riding and it seems like they jam up really easy and its har to take them on and off.

Was it difficult to install on a quad? And what’s the highest watts you recommend? I was looking at the 300w 12 inch one and i have a 150cc quad
Difficult to install, that ll depends on your abilities and tools available but generally they are very easy to install and require few tools. The thing about small quads is how they charge the battery. Some small engines don’t have a large enough charging system to charge the battery and supply ignition voltage and have enough left over to run accessories. I would check and see how capable your charging system is and then buy the biggest light bar you have enough power to handle.
@@fromrusttodust1174 how many watts is this one?
You ever get this to fire?
Yes. But I blew The ignition coil out. And I have been really busy with life and family matter lately. But I have intentions to get back to work on this soon.
does it work now? lol @@fromrusttodust1174
People shouldn’t post instructional videos when they don’t have a clue what they’re doing 🤷
Thank you.
NICE VIDEO
Yamaha wolverine will compete with your grizzly
My buddy has a wolverine and they are nice machines! My only gripe about a wolverine is the small engine size. If it had a bigger engine and could support people my size I would rather have the wolverine for trail riding. However the utility quads suit my needs better. I like having the racks and wider body to help me when cutting wood and hauling lumber.
It’s not the best if you have to fix thing lol
Well to be fair the machine was perfect when I bought it but I am really hard on it. I have flipped it twice and I routinely ride at high rpms, so this units problems is definitely user error.
Does it come with the wire. Can you use a 16 awg DT connector.
The light bar only comes with a small pigtail attached to it. In my opinion 16 gauge would be more than sufficient to power this. The Light does not seem to take that much power or produce too much heat.
@@fromrusttodust1174 what did you do sotter, connect 2 ports???
@@fromrusttodust1174 basically what cord/port I’m new to electric stuff and thank you so much for your help
I prefer a crimp connect on high vibration applications. I use closed barrel crimp connectors and marine grade adhesive lined heat shrink. I used ring connectors to make the connection to the battery. I feel that soldering is better suited for low vibration or connections to a circuit board. There is also a school of thought that does a solder and crimp but I feel that is unnecessary. There is a lot more information from High Performance Academy here on youtube and I also have some documents covering military spec if you want to dive into some deeper reading on the subject. Electrical is a never ending subject and I thoroughly enjoy talking about it any chance I get. I am in the process of setting up a video about what I feel are good practices in accordance with military standards and current auto sport practices. A bit overkill for most of the stuff we do, but I enjoy doing things correctly. Good luck and if there is anything I can do to help let me know I will do what I can.
Seems very Honda boy ricer of you.
Ben Osmon if Honda ricer bois have nothing else going for them, the lights make them look better than they are.
Yikes man, pliers!!!
Oh man the little clip at the end of you burning the coil/ignitor up is brutal lol, been there. Hey do u think you can make a video of you doing the chevy conversion?? I've gotta either replace the ignitor or the module/ignitor combo or do the conversion you are talking about instead. Thanks!
Of course. I actually just did the conversion and recorded it about a week ago. I made some mistakes and messed up a bit. Im considering releasing a part 1 and showing the working version.
Flat blade screw driver 9n top of the valve to tighteno losen the valve
Too bad people don’t care enough to actually complete a comprehensive sentence
I love the 07 grizz 700 but sometimes taking the spark plug out sucks
I agree! Especially while hot and out on the trail. I have started keeping a u joint and a extension on the bike, so if I have to do anything with the plug I wont burn myself. Happy Riding!
You can get a ngk ignition coil off rockauto for 30 dollars
Thank you. I actually had not looked into replacing the coil because the distributor is a little broken. The mounting flange for the vacuum advance cylinder is cracked and lets the cylinder flop about. I have been looking into the Davis Unified Ignition. Its a full distributor with all the brain bits built in, and inly requires power and ground. Before I buy the DUI system, I will look at Rock Auto thank you for the advice.
Nothing wrong with your compression tester. Yamahas have auto decompression on cam for easy starting as you point out in video. Only way to test compression is a leak down test where u add compressed air to cylinder.
Yes. Thank you. I have recently done some tests on my $20 dollar compression tester and to be nice I will say the results were less than ideal. In the future I will do some tests with a better grade tester........maybe.
Great video bud!
Thank you!
