I took half a box of baking soda and half a bottle of cleaning vinegar on my NEW, 6 month old washer and the scum that rose up from under the Empellor, was crazy.... and after it drained the mix it smelled better!! Cleaning the drains, empellor, etc is a must!! Or it'll clog and release a gross smell!!
I've used baking soda and vinegar to clean it as well and yes it works so well! 😁
