Our Hope Is in the Lord
"Regardless of the outcome of any election, our hope in the end is always first and foremost in the Lord, not in political candidates or political parties or political solutions. Our hope remains in the sovereignty and the grace and the power of God. I was incredibly struck at how our lectionary served certainly me-and I hope serves all of us-as a reminder in the middle of this turbulent and divided season that God still is our buckler."
In the wake of the November 5 election, Bishop Alex finds in the Psalm appointed in the daily lectionary a word of comfort to those who are disappointed and a tempering reminder to those feeling excited or triumphant.

Why Do We Celebrate All Saints Day?
มุมมอง 1.2Kวันที่ผ่านมา
"Saints are not saints because they are inherently particularly holy-saints are saints because God has made them holy... It is actually the action of the sanctifying power of God within us that makes us holy, so to acknowledge the saints at all is to acknowledge the saving power of Jesus Christ in the life of an individual." What is All Saints Day and why do we commemorate saints? Bishop Alex e...
The Anatomy of Forgiveness
มุมมอง 31614 วันที่ผ่านมา
"We are living in a culture that feels to me like it doesn’t forgive sins. As soon as somebody makes a misstep, there’s a lot of writing people off and saying, effectively, 'you are dead to me.' That's never a Christian option. There is a real need for us to believe not only that my sins can be forgiven, but that the sins of others are also forgivable." Bishop Alex reflects on the statement in ...
What Is Anglicanism? Our Governance
มุมมอง 13421 วันที่ผ่านมา
"One of the things that is true about Anglicans is that we have retained those orders of clergy that we see written in the New Testament: bishops, priests, and deacons... the church as a whole is led by the clergy, but governed by the councils of the church. This is true on every level. On the local level, we are led by a priest, but governed by a vestry or parish council, which is the voice of...

"This is part of the genius that Archbishop Cranmer had when he put together the original Book of Common Prayer. If you go to an Anglican service anywhere, you’re getting a Book of Common Prayer service. You’re getting something that is recognizable and familiar-and that’s true to this day. If you go to an Anglican service in Kenya or South Africa or somewhere in the Midwest, it is recognizably...
What Is Anglicanism? Our Beliefs

That English Protestant Reformation movement that we call Anglicanism was coming out of a medieval church that had moved to a very works righteousness way of thinking, and the Anglican movement was a recovery of the truth of the gospel... It is a gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is not a gospel of works or self improvement or what we might call Self Help today. We are not saved by t...
What Is Anglicanism? Part 1: Introduction
มุมมอง 394หลายเดือนก่อน
"I think sometimes we think Anglicanism means that you use the Book of Common Prayer to worship, but it actually means quite a bit more than that. Anglicanism is fundamentally about making disciples of all nations. It’s a discipleship reality. It's not just what you do or how you worship on Sunday." In this week's message, Bishop Alex introduces our new series on what it means to be Anglican. S...

John Hervey here: Saranac is, I think, a Young Life property. But I love the concept of having loving adults ready and eager to disciple young people!
Loved Bishop's message from Nehemiah/Ezra and the overall assessment of the Diocese! Also am enthusiastic about youth camps, since I came to Christ at a Young Life youth camp in 1970 that set a whole new course for my life. I was discipled and grown in the following youth camps during high school and college. Very significant!
Im Pentecostal but attend the local Anglican church on Sunday mornings , I'm their organist. They only ever use the Book of Alternative Services but I do have a Book of Common Prayer that I read daily. Friends of mine attend a GAFCON church but use a more modern Book of Common Prayer. I receive the Eucharist and do my best to live as scripture teaches. Maybe I'm more Anglican than I thought.
Thank you for putting that in prospective for me. I wanted to acknowledge saints but being protestant, I was fearful of idolizing them . I still wouldn't pray to them , our mediator being Christ but it's good to have holy men and women to look up to. Sadly we tend to only recognize them as being saints after they've passed into eternity. God grant that some day, after living the best I can in this life that someone would see characteristics in me that line up with sainthood / hero.

One of the hardest acts of forgiveness is of someone who has deeply wounded you and doesn’t ask forgiveness. That is a process that takes time.
Our Anglican Church has Rogation Sunday. The congregation marches around the church grounds following the Cross. Members bring their plants and flowers to be blessed.
An Anglican from East Tennessee, very informative videos.
Thanks for the feedback, Alan! Glad you found them helpful.
Glad you are encouraging visitors to check us out!
Wonderful! We need this. We need to know and learned and be reminded of what we believe. I just wish our church had kept the 1928 prayer book. My layman’s understanding of Anglicanism is that we are an extension of the original Church of England and we have diverted away from the sadly misguided “modern” changes brought about in the Episcopal church. And this is so important in These terrible times. Christians everywhere need to return to church and to traditional Christian teachings.
What is your position on living a continuous, unrepentant, sinful lifestyle? Do you affirm this, like others, or do you tell people the truth, that they must repent?
Thanks for your question! It is our prayer and expectation, as stated in our Book of Common Prayer baptism liturgy, that all Christians "would persevere in resisting evil, and, whenever they fall into sin, repent and return to the Lord." You can find links to all of the creeds and documents that the Bishop mentioned in the video, along with a link to the text of the Book of Common Prayer, here: www.adpgh.org/what-is-anglicanism/.
@adopittsburgh thanks for your reply. To put it a bit more bluntly, would you affirm an LGBT lifestyle or would you require them to repent?
@@ic7481 As Article 8 of the Jerusalem Declaration puts it: "We acknowledge God’s creation of humankind as male and female and the unchangeable standard of Christian marriage between one man and one woman as the proper place for sexual intimacy and the basis of the family. We repent of our failures to maintain this standard and call for a renewed commitment to lifelong fidelity in marriage and abstinence for those who are not married." That said, we believe that all Anglicans, like all people, are sinners in need of God's help and the grace of Jesus Christ. www.adpgh.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Jerusalem-Declaration.pdf
@@adopittsburgh thank you. It isn't about picking on a specific sin, but so many "churches" today affirm this specific sin rather than call for repentance.
oh cool a cult!
Define cult, please
Christ loved me enough to die for me and rose again according to the scriptures. I try my best to patten my life after him..and he's my leader...so if a cult is made up of a leader and followers, I'm in the best cult possible. He's promised me Eternal life.

Yes! Evangelism and Formational Discipleship are the foundational "ordinary" works of the church, not to be delegated to para-church ministries or special "seasons" of evangelism or discipleship. Day-to-day, person-to-person communication of the good news, and loving each other to wholeness. Thanks, Bishop!
Agreed. Thanks for watching!

Im just sad that the Anglican Church has gone in into apostasy. Ordaining women priests, allowing homosexual priests... it has become wordly in opposition to Romans 12:1-2

I always seen the suffering and pain of the cross , I can now also see the beauty of the cross .thank you ❤
You're welcome. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The Romans crucified thousands of their opponents in the day.when they ruled the area. Extremely cruel and barbaric form of death by torture. Even so, Jesus did zero to stop such barbaric conduct and worse, set up his own torture chamber many times worse back in heaven..Can anyone see contradictions ?
May you be richly blessed for this message. Thank you.
Bishop Alex, thanks for the series. This presentation today truly promotes the idea of the 'learning' where biblical literacy, reflected in repeated reading, and being in study groups, fills out and illuminates those passages we hear in the Sunday lectionary. An Anglican with the Bible is the devil's worst enemy!
Amen, Bishop Cameron!
Thank you
To trust God's promises we Christians need to fully understand WHAT THEY ARE! That's where the scriptures take us...and where we are empowered to reclaim the territory the dark side wants to inhabit! Thank you Bishop Cameron for this series. Much Christian survey data (ABS, Barna) tells us that Christian behavior is not transformed by charitable duties, attending church regularly, or other works-related acts, but by encountering the Word of God 4x or more weekly. The fruit emerges from the transformed heart of the Christian.--FHC from St Alban's Anglican Murrysville
Amen ❤️
Keep that powerful message upholding God's Word in the scriptures, Bishop Cameron! From the congregation at Saint Alban's Anglican Murrysville! Anglicans trusting in the scriptures scramble the devil's intentions! Our playbook is the Bible and we have so many great plays in that playbook; the devil's lies have a slim and uncreative playbook that is always defeated by the Lord's Word carried out by His flock!
Preach!
Really looking forward to the conference!
Very few watching the Anglican heretic.
Very few people watching.

Anglican church... Still the best for me. I am proud and extremely grateful to God for being an Anglican faithful 🙏🙏🙏
Bishop Duncan's "awning" eyebrows have outgrown the legendary Andy Rooney's!!! Time for a threading!
How this defrocked phony, Robert Duncan ever got elected a bishop in the Episcopal church in the first place is truly disgusting. He betrayed his ordination vows and did all that he could do to take the actual legitimate Episcopal diocese of Pittsburgh out of the Episcopal church, along with all the assets of course. Indeed a fraud this man is. A sanctimonious hypocrite. The pretend “Anglican Church in North America” is pathetic and will ultimately fizzle out of existence.
That makes a change, a man for bishop!
Who is a ‘lost sheep’? Age takes some to the cliff where we seem forgotten. Too late for me to call out and u-Tube helps connection to prophecy with world change. Bless those in truth.
Thanks for the message. The Bible says that we need to forgive each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Eph 4:32)
Thank you, Bishop Alex.
Thank you so much for this reminder. We have friends on both sides of this conflict who are faithful believers and our hearts grieve with them and you are right, we can turn our fear, anxiety and angst into prayer for them knowing God is still in control of the chaos. Thank you Bishop!
