Using a homemade wall lift

Testing out a homemade wall lift. We couldn't move the wall at all without it. It was very cold outside. -16.

Testing Bryan's new Sawmill | 100 Acre Homestead

Bryan bought this a year or so ago. Finally got it put together and testing it out for the first time. A few kinks to get worked out (bigger motor?) but a cool machine.
Pulling the excavators out before more snow comes! | 100 Acre Homestead

Left the excavators in the forest a few days too long. Got them out before we started getting more snow!
Creating an incredible view | 100 Acre Homestead

Lots of tree cutting. Don't worry, almost all the trees were dead\dying. Going to save whatever logs I can. The hemlocks were the most dangerous to cut as every single one was rotten/hollow on the inside, some completely dead outside too.

Growing grapes in zone 4b - Edge of Northern Ontario Canada
มุมมอง 733 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've had this plant for 7 years. Transplanted it here roughly 4 years ago. This is the first time it's produced grapes. I've done absolutely nothing to it besides letting it grow undisturbed. Roughly 1kg of grapes once we removed them from the vine.
Draining the pond I inadvertently created | 100 Acre Homestead
มุมมอง 4.4K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Had to get rid of the "pond" before we could finish creating the driveway. Left is as long as possible as Kate likes the frogs and tadpoles. Made sure they had somewhere to drain to so they could still live. She spent a few hours afterwards making sure all the tadpoles made it out okay.
Buying a 20 ton excavator (Komatsu PC200-7) | 100 Acre Homestead
มุมมอง 1.1K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Been tired of getting nothing done with the 8ton and overworking it in the process. Found this machine not listed online from a friend who told me about it. Lucked out. Seems like a great machine so far! Roughly 14k hours on it.
I broke the skidsteer.. again! | 100 Acre Homestead

It's cursed! At least it didn't break down in the pond this time.
Building a shipping container shop: pt. 3 - Moving Containers | 100 Acre Homestead
มุมมอง 5364 หลายเดือนก่อน
Finally moved the containers out of the driveway so I can park closer to the machines. Moved them to the future shop location. Thanks Connor for your help! I've had trouble moving containers around before even with the 8ton, but took my bucket off (because I broke it anyways) and they moved easily!!

Did ANYONE find this REMOTELY interesting? What a waste of time.
Lol what do you want to see videos of?
That’s a crap ton of rock 😳
Lots more to come this year!!
Glad I'm not the only one milling in the snow!!! Lol subscribed
Love the snow. Means a break from the mud for awhile!
Looks cool. Where is it ?
Think 🤔
?
At the border of northern Ontario
@@GrownLocally thanks . Beautiful land. I'm looking to do the same thing in Maine. Good luck and best wishes to you.
I,d buy that for a $ 😅
Hah! I haven't touched it since I've got it.. it's now buried in snow!
What exactly is that material called, it looks more like road base, which is crushed rock and gravel and rock dust. That is what is used when building actual roads under the pavement. It’s cheaper than straight gravel and the compacted rock dust gives the surface a smoother solid finish. I pay about $800 per load in the states, hate to know what that driveway is costing you.
It's 2" crusher run, aka road base. $500-550 a load delivered. Roughly 23 ton a load. Sadly it's just begun, still have to build a parking area/lay down yard. I don't want to think of the $ it's going to cost.
Where are you located. I have a very similar view and large lot like yours in Nova Scotia
Awesome. Whereabouts in Nova Scotia? I'm in Muskoka, Ontario
Grapes! Awesome!! ✌️🇨🇦💕
Made some grape juice with them!
👋👍looking good!
Thanks!
Thats awesome Good price too i paied 15000 for a old jcb backhoe to build my roads wish i could have found a deal on a excavator like you did
I lucked out and knew the right guy! How are you liking the jcb? They make pretty good backhoes
@GrownLocally its good lots of power even though it probably has 30000 hours on it I have already fixed 3kms of road with it when my logger is finnished ill make some new roads so i already got my moneys worth out it
Nice machine mate! But I think you got the series wrong there bud, that’s a dash 6. They’ve added the newer stickers to it and a respray and listed it off a dash 7
Thank you! The guy I got it from never said what series it is/what year it was. I found a tag on it that said manufactured in 2003. What makes you say it's a 6 vs 7?
@@GrownLocally with the dash 6 the cab has a different shaped cab. On the dash 6 they’re a bit more rounded compared to a dash 7/8 which is more square shaped. On the door of the dash 6’s will say Komatsu on it, the series 7/8 will normally say galeo on it. The back of the cab on the old series 6’s have always been yellow compared to the series 7 where the roof is yellow and around the back window is all black/greyed out. For the old sticker kit above the numbers they’d say avance on them instead of the series 7 sticker kit on your machine. If you have a search on google of a pc200-7 and pc200-6 you’ll be able to see more of the difference
Removing trees with an excavator is dangerous, you have to constantly be looking for the next accident. Dead trees are probably the worst, but they do push over easy. The trees are dangerous, the limbs are dangerous, the holes left by the root ball are dangerous, you can't be too careful. I am clearing trees for two farm ponds currently, using a rented Volvo 220. I will finish the ponds with a D6 Cat. Be careful but you know that..
Yes it was stupid of me. I've since bought a Komatsu PC200. Will post a video on it soon. The volvo 220 probably worked great for you. I keep my head on a swivel now and don't push them over when I'm alone.
idiods and machines come to mind
I have the same problem 😂😂 Nothing but bedrock i dug all over until i found low spots in the rock, then drained everything to those spots. Good luck
Adirondacks?
Muskoka, Ontario, Canada
@@GrownLocally great around there. I was wondering where you got these great hemlocks
@@vincentmartineau232 The property was logged 15 years ago and they didn't touch the hemlocks for some reason
Nice work. I've been recently adding snad/dirt to my driveway build and unsure how well it's going to hold up. Water management is my main concern right now. Any wet area turn into a mud pit after driving the tractor over them a few times.
Make sure to crown the driveway and have ditches. That's on my list of things to do to mine. It's been raining for 3 days so far..
Nice work. I can appreciate what involved in building a road/driveway. Working on that myself now as well.
Right on!
Nice job.
Thanks!
You're going to get yourself stuck.
I'm surprised I haven't yet. Give me time..
That would ruin a day.
This is awesome...never a dull moment eh?! Keep at it! 💪✌️🇨🇦
Little red walking girl in the woods has the best balance...
Yes
I've been getting all my drinking water from a spring for years, Only thing is if it rains alot it can get contaminated. What a great find!
That's awesome. Do you put it through any sort of treatment? Do you have any sort of reservoir to hold it? I've been thinking of putting a tank underground and treating it as a well. Just stick a pump in the tank
I think that's a great idea. So in 4 year i got sick once because a deer drank and shit in my spring all winter. After that i put a small fence around were the spring come out to stop the deer and no issues since. So no treatment, but i protect the spring from animals now.
Hemlock is great wood. Does not rot just like cedar and makes great posts. You can use it green if you want to be able to put a nail threw it easily. I have lots of Hemlock too.
Good luck!
Thank you!
Cat is not rat to eat cheese,
We tried anyways!
Dairy gives them an upset stomach. If you’re ignorant to what cats should and should not eat a quick click on the smart phone will help.
Yes we learned that as well. Cat food in the future.
my cat will eat a little cream cheese and a little cottage cheese , but wont touch any other kinds of cheese. Leave 2 bowls outside the door , out of the way of foot traffic , one for food and the other for water. eventually you will a Cat, or as the Ancient Egyptians knew a God, telling you what to do. 😎
Awesome thank you
nice of the cat to allow you in his home, guess he didn't tell you yet.
Haha yes
You guys are hilarious! Buy some cat food and get a litter box.
We did get him food and made him a place to sleep outside!
this is one of the most wholesome videos I've ever come across on youtube
The cat is making the adoption process...
Yes!
Well now you have a cat good job the cat is going to visit you every night or day
Haha he did
Just let him in whatever 😂
yup!
Its not wild cat, he’s fat and confident
Patricia Sanchzbarb he’s not fat! He’s stocky
🤣🤣🤣😍😍😍😍
Our neighbor was feeding him
Idiots, you freaked it out. Should have sit quietly for a long time. Let it explore as much as it liked. Then he would have returned again.
@ToysForyou Because they deliberately let it in, Einstein! So stop blaming some fictional cat for that shit on your bed that you know was only your fault. : )
Yes we didn't make good decisions
I was searching for wild cats like lions not like this tiny one.
Sorry about that
Where are you xD
Hiding from you! :P
awee he so cute my cat did the same thing
