    I was surprised that one of your cons was not the high property taxes. Looking at the State's veteran benefits, it is hard to determine what they are.

      @geesamanhomes 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Property tax rates in Carmel are the same as everywhere else; it's the high property values that cause the property taxes to be perceived has "higher" than surrounding areas. Generally speaking your annual property taxes are around 1% of your property's assessed value if you live in the home (owner-occupied), or closer to 2% if you rent out your property (non-owner occupied).

    The only happy people in Indy are those who commute from Hamilton County, assuming they can afford it. Small town living in Indiana is great. Towns like Greenfield, Frankfort, Tipton, and others are the places to be.

Indpls has no major public transportation system, but most drive cars and, if necessary, you can easily drive from one end to the other. Indiana just changed to daylight savings time. It was not like that when I was a kid. The roads are absolutely terrible. The crime rate in Indianapolis is off the rails. Do not live there. Get out before it gets dark. All of us who grew up there and had the means to get out, got out by 2010. And if you do commute there for work, you better install a swivel where your neck is. @@geesamanhomes yup, I wish you guys were in Colorado. Custom project here may die cause that’s our remaining budget and now we’re being told that 1.2 won’t even get 1750 sq ft with same size unfinished basement. And I doubt it will look this nice. You guys did amazing!

    What IF, the cost of custom homes is lower in one State than Another ? For example, TEXAS has nice custom homes from 300k. what would I need to do to build the same type of home in my State ? NM. or would I need to buy the Material from one builder have another construct it ? ANY IDEAS ?

    • @geesamanhomes
      @geesamanhomes หลายเดือนก่อน

      The price of a custom home depends on a lot of factors, including the price of materials, costs of subcontractors, the knowledge and connections of the builder themselves, and several other factors. While it’s true that you may be able to build the “same” custom home for different prices in different states, there is no guarantee it’ll be the exact same finished product for the same price because of the factors I previously listed. If you’re wanting to build a house you saw in TX in NM you’ll have to own a piece of land where you can legally build the home, buy the blueprints for the home, have a custom builder agree to build it for you, then get a quote for what it would cost. The custom builder would then source the materials and labor for the build of the home. Or if you are savvy enough to buy materials and source your own labor you could do it all yourself. Just depends on your comfort level for that kind of a project.

    This woman is an idiot!! She is bassing her opinion upon the way she wants to live. Indiana is a wonderful place to live!!! We have music, culture, art, & wonderful dining. Plus we have nature!!! Lots of rivers, lakes, agriculture & beautiful state parks!!! An abundance of friendly people. Weather can be temperamental, but we can celebrate all 4 seasons!!

      Did you actually watch the video, or are you commenting just because you read the title? I love living in Indiana, but Indiana isn't for everyone, which is the point of the video.
