Giving is a virtue recognized and encouraged in all cultures. In the old testament God mentioned 1. Widows 2. Orphans 3. Strangers 4. The Poor. 5. Priests as receivers of our giving. The same is applicable in the New Testament. The issue of tithe borders on the specification of the amount, the volumes a church can accumulate based on the size of the congregation. On the part of the clergy, their eagerness and emphasis on payment, the egoism associated and the utilization of the holy fund. The fact however remains :- 1. Christ taught giving with the promise of receiving Luke 6:38, 2. Paul wrote extensively on the right of the preacher's in 1 Cor. 9:1-15. 3. Experience has shown that when you give cheerfully, simply and humbly, you witness open doors and windows of blessings. 4. Tithe is a way of financial discipline and responsibility to God. So the Clergy owe God and the Laity the responsibility of transparency and accountability in the use of the money whether tithes, offering, vows, donation etc. No one needs to be discouraged about giving, let God direct you to faithful servant of His as you partner with God in His soul saving program and your business activities. More grace.

God does not judge grace, but judges work. God does not reward grace. He rewards works.

This is too much theology devoid of the Holy Spirit. This man is teaching the old covenant in the new covenant. Malachi 3 says we should tithe so that there is food on God’s house. We don’t tithe so that you and fellow pastors should become rich. These flamboyant professional preachers are modern day Pharisees and hypocrites who have studied more theology than building a relationship with God. Theirs is the kingdom of this world. God doesn’t need money! He owns everything. Let’s use our money to help the needy

This sermon is in accurate about tithes. Jesus never spent hours trying to convince people to pay tithes to pastors. This is a justification for turning churches into businesses. You will be held accountable in heaven for trying to mislead many people. Tithes and offerings shouldn’t be by force but out of love. Jesus was the Melchizedek that’s why He received the tithes. Trying to deceive people that giving money to false teachers will attract blessings is a lie because God’s blessings are unconditional. God gave us two laws and they are strictly about Love ❤️

Without the Revelation we cannot know God and without knowing God we cannot serve God the way God want us to serve Him Therefore, believers need the spirit of Revelation and the spirit of Revelation is still there, we have to ask for it. Christianity in Histroy is a religion. James 1 says Pure religion is to keep yourself from pollution. This is different from the puritan teaching declaring one revelation. Luke says in Acts 1 that what Jesus began to do.... this implies that for 3 years he was introducing something. Even in Physics don't people come up with new theorems some of which supercede previous known knowledge. Revelation is progressive. This is the nature of God. We know Jesus is the same Yesterday today and tomorrow but his coming to the earth's not a closing event so as to make the body like a bride who has already been decided for the groom. Where is the joy of salvation. This teaching kills.

Popularity doesn’t qualify godliness. There are teachings that were discarded not because they didn’t qualify Biblical understanding but that the teachers were manipulated to teach lostness! No new revelation, but God continually reveals to us to confirm what is written already.

Living for God is the best life, the most satisfying, the most peaceful, and the most loving and serving others and Worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth.

What I don’t understand is, this man, Mensah Otabil, is a false teacher himself. The fact that he mentions a few good points does not exonerate him. He’s guilty of false teaching too! His catalogue speaks for itself. He’s a typical motivational speaker. He only attacks where he thinks he’s not guilty and so he’s in denial. Go and check most of his messages-complete sermons of purely motivational and human-centered lacking proper exegesis. What a heavy deception we’re dealing with.

Read acts 15. If tithing is for new testament saints then Christ died in vain. We should go back to slaughter of bulls etc for our sins. Besides we are priests before the LORD with access to the most holy place. Those with access to the most holy place didn't pay tithes under the law. Giving offering is okay. The apostles practiced this but not tithing. In addition those who reference Malachi on tithing should study Deuteronomy 14 verse 22-29 and Deuteronomy 26 verse 12. Ministers should put their trust in God for the support of the work He has given them. If they can't trust God for daily bread then their sermons are not worth any attention.

Humbly, I disagree (at least in part) with Dr. Otabil. Of course, there is a lot of heretical and erroneous teachings today, which must be shunned and exposed, but that is not necessarily a claim to 'revelation'. We need to get things right. For instance, in this particular case, Mensa MUST qualify what he means by "there is no longer revelation", this is still ambiguous and potentially misleading. If he means there is no longer new general knowledge of God that is not already written in the Bible, I would agree with him fully--even then the Bible does show that not all knowledge has been revealed (e.g. Deut 29:29), thus we know in part only, "until the perfect has come". Having said that, what is revealed is sufficient for faith, profitable for reproof, correction, teaching and training. However, we are ever in need of new insight (revelation) of the old knowledge already written, this is exactly what the church absolutely needs today. In fact, it is the absence of revelation that makes the contemporary church so inferior compared to the early apostolic church... We have an inferior and superficial understanding of God and His message. We cannot grow in grace and knowledge of God, unless and until we have revelation--of the old, already written. A preacher MUST bring revelation, knowledge, prophecy, or doctrine (1Co 14:6) otherwise he does not profit his hearers. We say, sing, teach about things that we don't actually have a true grasp of, this is the main weakness of the church today; actually prophesied that latter generations will have "a form without the essence". Notwithstanding that fact, scripture actually teaches the need of revelation for all believers of every generations, including saying that when we come together some of us need to bring revelation as their gifting. Just because something is written of old, and can be read by all, doesn't at all mean it is understood by all. We always need to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal God in new or deeeper ways. Jesus had to open the minds of the early disciples, so that they can understand the ancient writtings of Moses, the prophets and psalms, exactly what we need today!!! Pr 29:18 ¶ Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law. 1Co 14:6 ¶ But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either by revelation, by knowledge, by prophesying, or by teaching? 1Co 14:26 ¶ How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. Eph 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him

Revelation & illumination can be used interchangeably.Revelation should not contradict what is already revealed.Only by debating can we know the truth.gifts of the spirit as per cor 12 are often referred as revelation.You could say I got a revelation that if I go to a certain person I will get money& indeed you got.Anyway you have to interpret the scriptures your way not gulp everything even if it is Mensa.
