I saw them in New Orleans in 97 right after they fired Jimmy and they sounded awesome.

I am so glad that Jimmy got clean, and the band gave him a 2nd chance.

They're so awkward and closed off... It's funny to look back and think this was considered a cool way to present yourself to the world. They just come across as traumatised and awkward now. D'arcy is missed.

Billy is really thoughtful and well spoken. And when you listen to interviews with Jimmy, that's also what immediately strikes you about him. I can see why they got along and made such great music together.

Fast forward 28 years, and on last night's gig in Dublin (10.6.24) Jimmy was blowing out birthday candles onstage with the band in the midst of a majestic performance. Despite everything, it's a beautiful conclusion to a tragic story. Such a shame about sweet Darcy and especially that poor guy Jonathan.

The irony that Darcy was probably just getting into her drug phase at this time. I've never heard her talk so much in an interview where she is not only eager to answer questions but giving all kinds of extra information on the topic.

I had tickets for the show at Kiel Center in St. Louis and Garbage was supposed to headline. They were my absolute favorite band and it was a huge bummer when they paused the tour. I was super excited to see them that fall when they got back on the road.

Man, that must have been frustrating for D'arcy when Billy played her bass parts on the album. Especially since she COULD FRIGGIN PLAY. I am OBSESSED with this mix. You can really HEAR her. She played on MCATIS, but a lot of the bass on that album was this sort of intentionally muddy super low-end sound that kind of just rides in the mix almost like a synth or something, if that makes sense. I'm maybe not explaining it well, but the bass is mixed on a lot of the Mellon Collie stuff so it's more like a hum. Like, you don't really hear any pick attack on a lot of it. The live stuff is your best option for hearing a real bass LINE from her. And I'm always floored by how much ass she kicked. I could understand Billy recording her parts if she couldn't play, but she could! Wtf.
