arma 3 Artillery Strike and Inf clearing. Insertion via Chopper Danger Close.
Messing around with Arma 3's new map and the Insurgency mode :)
Still think Arma 2 is better for now due to ACE and ACRE but this will do.

Empire: Total War Stakes don't work.
มุมมอง 5K15 ปีที่แล้ว
I was using stakes for the very first time in the full game. Using the newest patch to date (1.2). Using A Proper Empire (APE) Mod 1.2.2. I remember using stakes in the demo and they were freaking deadly! So I thought to use them for the first time in the full game. So I don't know why they don't work. What happened is the enemy completely ignored them.. Just another bug in a completely bugged ...
Empire Total War volley of death.

Just playing around checking out how different units handle each other. So the latest was 2 units of elephants (Melee) against 4 line from Austria. Results? not pretty.. You'd think the elephants can take a beating..

And I thought the British response to that was funny. For context, the Germans offered a British unit holding a bridge a chance to surrender. The Brits replied saying, "We don't have the proper facilities to take all of you prisoner. Sorry."

I read that he did not really say, "Nuts"; rather it was "F"_____ off, or some other such epithet, so they changed it to "nuts" for release to the public and the press.

"When the legend becomes fact, always print the legend!" 'Aw Nuts!' clearly verified by 🎗Lt. Gen. Harry W.O Kennard Ret. was 🎗 Brigadear Gen. Anthony C. McAuliffe's second response after he heard the nazis surrender request. Tony first "whispered" BS to his close friend, unofficial body guard and post war pen pal 🎗Sgt. Bernard Doyle 'Willie' MaClean. I think I was picked by him to relate his seldom told story to me at sunrise in the mid 80's. After chatting over coffee he went straight to showing his perfectly preserved B & W photo of him in his battle helmet, fatigues while holding his Thompson .45 cal across his waist. Willie said, "I was in the Battle of the Bulge!" and then he asked me, "What did the General say to the surrender demand from the Germans?" I quickly said, "Nuts!" With a half smile he leaned over our local pool rooms table and whispered that "explicative" to me inside a local uptown business very accustomed to cursing. Willie said, "On that day the 101st was very aware of the POWs shot at Malmedy." He concluded, "Those words could not be used in the National Press back home or the US Army news' ''Stars and Stripes". Lastly he told me, "Nobody ever believes me when I tell them!" and he had a quizzical look on his face with that claim. That morning I will never forget his "other reports" on surviving the cold, snowy days and nights in the terrible Battle of the Bulge inside Bastogne with his close friend, 🎗Tony.

NUTS! Indeed. It was during 1944 near Christmas when Adolf Hitler began to realize the Western Allies were unstoppable. The German Youngbloods and Hitler Youth urinated their pants when the hardened American 101st Airborne unit were charging against the brutal 1st SS Waffen division and death around the corner. ☠️

A couple of comments here about Doc Rowe and Winters keeping an eye on him, but no-one commenting on why it's this specific scene in particular: the Bastards of Bastogne have all seen carnage and their bravery for holding the line should obviously be commended... but this small scene is about Rowe knowing, more than anyone in the company, about the horrors that warfare can do to a human body. Rowe has seen it all, been there first hand while people scream for their mothers as their guts hang out- and Winters, being as smart as he is, knows this and knows that the colonel's speech has a very different affect on him than the rest of the men. So on the one hand you have this cool scene of stubborn bravery we can get all gung-ho about in this comments section, but this subtly is countered by a message about the futility and savagery of war. Rowe knows more about that than anyone else in the scene. And that's why he's sat apart, that's why he's not cheering and that's why Winters is keeping an eye on him during the speech.

When I see soldiers shivering in the cold, I always wish I could take in some blankets, and hot Hungarian goulash with crusty bread. My mum was Hungarian, Dad was British, I was raised there. I got a unique perspective of the war from opposing sides! But, make no mistake, mum and the Hungarian people hated Hitler! RIP to all those poor souls who suffered so terribly during WW2.
