Thank you!!!
Nice video, but throw the scissor lift/jack in the bin and buy yourself a proper workshop jack, those Scissor jacks are too dangerous! and are only meant to be used in emergency road side situations.
Thank you, rear pads on and tested. And had time to do a oil and oil filter change
Excellent job.
Would disconnecting the battery be Best to keep the park brake off ? Any one know if the 2020 and 2019 the same brakes ?
No do not disconnect battery or you’ll have to reprogram everything.
@@bartman22x1 No, when you purchase your brake pads, the dealer or local auto parts store will check compatibility.
Any one know if the 2020 and 2019 the same brakes ?
Check with dealer
Thanks for the video You save me $$ Dealer wanted $1000. I figured, I can do it myself if I’ve changed other vehicle brakes. 👍🏽
Awesome tutorial!
Wtf is it with the music??
The music gotta go
Very helpful video. But the music makes it hard to hear and follow the instructions. As it drowns out his voice.
Had the worst luck doing this the caliper wouldn't compress and then when i put the caliper back on the mounting bracket bolt stripped
@@maebe7668 this is not a caliper you compress, it’s a rotary one and you need the rotary tool.
What size Allen wrench did you use?
@@MisterMister5893 7mm
great vid, ty.
Well done! Great video 🎉
Thank you 🤗
Very helpful instructions with details. A shame you had music & low voice audio, as we could not hear you well some of the time especially at the beginning & middle of the video.
Well made video. I'm a mechanic being lazy and instead of figuring it out I thought I'll look it up. Gooood explanation.
I am doing my first brake job kn my Subaru Outback 2020. Can you also make a video regarding re0lacing rotor? Or is it very straightforward? Similarly, can you make a video for the front axle as well?
Sorry my rotors aren’t due for replacing but I may make one for the front brake pads.
How hard is it to replace rotors in addition to this?
@@NagarjunBhat I don’t think so, you can look at my other video when I replaced my RAV 4 rotors. I would recommend buying it from Subaru if you do, I tried after market and they warped after a year.
Replacing rotors is just one extra step of removing two bolts from the caliper bracket to the car. You'll see the two bolts on the rear. Once the bracket is free, the rotor should come right off. If it's rusty, you may need to hit the rotor with a sledgehammer a few times to break it loose. Some manufacturers like Honda use a screw to secure the rotor to the hub which should be obvious to see. When you install the new rotor, try to brush off the hub face of any rust and dirt, and use brake clean on the two sides of the new rotor that make contact with the pad as they are often coated with oil as a rust proofing measure while they sit in a warehouse waiting to be used. Torque the caliper bracket bolts back on to spec - the bracket often is a much higher torque spec than the smaller caliper bolts that go into the slider pins.
Thank you, Glenn

WOW!! EXCELLENT JOB, Andrew. I feel like I can fix mine. And I'm 78 years old. 😊😊 9:20
Thank you damama, that’s a compliment that made my day. This is the reason why I do it step by step. Good luck and I hope you do try!
Thanks for the great video!! This was perfect for my 2022 subaru legacy!! My rear tires loose traction so often that the rear pads burn out sooner with the LSD system using the breaks to move the power around!! lol
very detailed video. will bookmark for future need
😘🥰😚👍💎🥇🥺🙏
I love my maltese ❤
I can hear you fine … thanks for a detailed video!
Loose the music!
You put the white wire on backwards, the wire always gets wrapped around the screw clockwise, the same way the screw is turning to tighten.
Thank you.
First pin please?
Thank you very much Andrew.
This video was PAINFUL

Fantastically well explained, very educational💯
Speak up ! Dump the music !
I thought the electric parking brake needed to be removed.
All I had to do was make sure the electronic parking brake was off. I believe that if it is engaged, you will not be able to turn to compress the pistons. I mentioned if you have resistance while turning them, stop as you are fighting with the actuators and may cause damage.
You can remove the parking brake component with two allen key bolts. Once it is removed the caliper piston turns MUCH EASIER. No need for the brake service mode.
Thank you!!
Get rid of the music!
What size allen wrench is that
7mm.
So are there no sliding pins for a Subaru? Does it slide on the hex bolts themselves, should it be lubed?
anyone know if another piston compressor adaptor other than “E” works from the kit? That’s the ONE adapter I’m missing from my kit LOL
Could you turn the background music up a bit? Wasn't loud enough.
Excellent clear explanation, thank you.
Music on,can't hear anything
Very well done video with just the right amount of detail. Thank you!
The music is louder than your voice in parts of the video.
Just got done with my 2020 rears and thank you for this video. Job went just as you explained in this video. Thank you 😊
Great to hear! Nice work!
Thank you sir!
You are really good at teaching us. Thanks for the video.
Wonder how long that 7mm Allen socket and where you got it. Checking auto zone and O’Reilly and neither have it.

Great video Andrew. Thanks!
You didn't mention using the silicone lubricant on the pins. The caliper moves on them as the pads wear.
awesome video helped me out a lot
