I see you finally got to the advance trout fishing set up. I've said it since day one 😂. Split shot only. Powerbait. 2 lb test line. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to get a bite. If that's the case you're fishing a spot that has no trout. Also with the 2 lb test line. The even more advance set up is to get a high quality tested brand. Trilene is fair. But there are better ones that cast smoother, further, and are a much stronger line. I wouldn't recommend trilene

2 pound is perfect for jigs and spoons. Although I have personally lost many bigger trout on bait n wait, they seem to have sharper teeth when bigger and always swallow the hook so the line stays exposed. Good times!
