It’s the fact that you see Caitlyn’s pov of the enforcers continue to sour when Vi starts talking. From the beginning of this scene Cait started posturing and almost overacting as the standup enforcer even pulling out the derogatory “someone like you” before Vi quickly makes her rethink the situation

I'm not usually a big fan of the "enemies to lovers" trope, but this setup with Cait and Vi got me hooked immediately.

Out of the main parent figures of Ambessa, Silco, and Vander, she was the one who understood that and took the measure to "remove" her daughter from herself to do what she felt had to be done.

Something I love about Arcane is how children have an effect on their parents. Vander gave up his ambitions for Vi and Powder. Silco eventually came to the same conclusion and gave up his goal for Jinx. Mel’s mother took the opposite route of these two and cast her daughter out in order to maintain her goals.

what i didnt understand and im still shaky about it is how mel thinks that she could protect piltover from people like her mother who would use brute force to get anything they want her mom was absolutely correct, if mel intended to have WEAPONS as a means of protecting themselves from would be threats, that implies USE of those weapons which circles back to using brute force to keep them protected how is Mel any different from her mother if the end solution she returns to is the threat of annihilation as a means of compliance or peace? mel seems deadset on believing that shes different when it appears that the only thing that sets her apart is a lack of stomach for violence despite relying on it in the end
