We had a similar gas price war in a small town about 5 minutes from my university, a new gas station opened up and they got the next door station to get into a bidding war basically and got gas all the way down to 1.30/gal when gas everywhere else was I'm the mid $4s in like 21/22 it was pretty great. Nothing bad happened to the station owners though and they bumped prices back up at the end of the weekend, just to do it again the next weekend

This is poor advice. Accountability, responsibility and discipline should start on average around 3-4 yo. Children are capable of comprehending right and wrong. The longer you wait to discipline the harder it will be to effective at it. Patents arent playmates yet parents can be a playmate.
