Just wanted to point out the view you had from fushimi inari is actually just the mid point from the hike, from there its another hour and half to the actual top where's they have the last temple in the grounds of fushimi inari.

No we didn't, we used international data from our phone carrier.

Thanks! There's no ticket needed for the Basilica in the Vatican, but if you don't want to wait in line I think it's probably possible to get in with a tour group or something like that.
