OZARK MOUNTAIN SPECIAL
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 9 ม.ค. 2024
OZARK MOUNTAIN SPECIAL is dedicated to capturing the essence of our family’s rural Ozark lifestyle. In 2018, with a desire to live a more Intentional, Wholesome, and Sustainable lifestyle, we purchased 40 beautiful wooded acres in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Our family of 7 started off here in a semi-off-grid tiny house in the woods. Since then, we have built a home and have begun to carve out a functional & beautiful homestead on top of our mountain. Every day we continue to improve our homestead and raise our children to love God and love Others. Some of the things you will see on this channel are our endeavors in Homesteading, Cooking amazing Southern Food, and Exploring our beautiful Ozarks. Follow us as we live our dream on Ozark Mountain Special. We hope this channel encourages you and maybe even motivates you to start your own homestead!
METAL DETECTING our FIRST AMERICAN CIVIL WAR BATTLEFIELD
In this video we spend our first day metal detecting our 1st Civil War battle field (Skirmish Site). It was an amazing thought to think of what happened in this area 160 years ago. The area we were detecting was hard to get to and most of the ground cover was quite thorny, but we made progress detecting it and we look forward to going back.

I WAS SURPRISED WHAT WE FOUND UNDER THIS OLD FALLEN OAK TREE IN THE OZARKS
Hi Ozark I just bought my very first crossbow today my question is the length of bolt do you recommend for deer hunting for this bow. My bow came already assembled
Awesome. I have thoroughly enjoyed using mine. I always use 20" bolts with mine. I would refer to the owners manual in regards to other compatible sizes.
Those shelves freezer shelves
hows it holding up?
It worked great this year. I did turn it off a couple of months ago. I am planning on doing a follow up video.
I picked one up. working great so far. thanks for the info.
🤩🇺🇸👍⚖️👁️👁️⚖️👍
Thank you so much for making this video, I can see it's helped others also, at 44 I'm just getting into archery so I thought I'd try this crossbow out and I see I somehow installed it with all the strings on top of the rail, I'm so glad i'm watching video before I do anything with it, thanks again for sharing.
So glad I could help. It has been a blast to use. I'm sure you will enjoy it!
I have this MAX but now I want the cool-looking Jase Robertson Camo Edition. 😊
I was sent your video thanks. I have never seen anyone put the fan on the outside of the building.
I'd imagine you could run the system either direction. Thanks for watching!
Very nice!
Thanks!
Wife and I are doing the same sort of set-up in Northern Nevada!! Thank you for posting your video!
It's a great little system - Super simple, fairly portable, and can be adapted for different water sources and purposes. Thanks for watching & Good luck!
@@ozarkmtnspecial Blessings to you and your Family!
@@rongray4118 Thanks so much!
Does the water get hot in the summer in the black tote? Great vid and thank you for sharing.
We live in a fairly warm climate zone, and the water surprisingly doesn't get very warm, even when the tank is in direct sunlight in the summer. Thanks for watching.
PLEASE PUT A INTERLOCK KIT ON YOUR PANEL BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS IF YOU FORGET TO TURN OFF THE UTILITY BREAKER! THIS SCARES ME!
Thank you. It is on the to do list.
Good job! Simple and effective!
Thanks. Its still running great!
I'm a wild land firefighter and I'd recommend buying a backpack leaf blower or two for just this type of emergency. One person with a leaf blower can put in a lot of fire line in a short time.
Thanks for the tip and for watching!
As a veteran civil war relic hunter I recommend digging all targets, especially when trying to locate the exact place. I saw you were using a Garrett AT series detector so on the VDI a three ring bullet will usually be somewhere between 72-78 depending on depth, a button will usually be a 53-58 but can be a little higher or lower depending on depth. I like to begin searching on the high ground because it's likely one side or the other was on the high ground. If you're looking for a civil war camp check the south and east facing slopes or around a water source. If you can find old maps of the area look for old roads the armies could've used and hunt along them. I've had to hunt areas several times just to find the sites, so don't give up on a spot after one or two times. Relic hunting isn't easy, you gotta be willing to put in a lot of work to locate sites and hours of finding nothing but farm junk, but if you find the right spot it's worth all the effort. Good luck and keep digging.
Thanks for the advice. We are definitely still green to this hobby. Obtaining permissions has been a big difficulty due to the landowner / agricultural leaseholder dynamic, which tends to lead us in circles. This particular land permission is well documented as a battlefield, so I know relics are there . . . just gotta find them. We intend to go back to this sight this winter after the snakes have gone into hibernation and the foliage has died back. Thanks for watching.
We have just subscribed to your channel, regards Anne & Alan youtube.com/@woodbridgehillcottage

Sorry about that. You should find links in the description now.
Heey friend! Nice to see you all having a great time! Happy timez! Big hello from new friends and subscribers.. metaldetecting couple.. from southern Europe! Happy hunting!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome. Glad to have y'all watching!!!
I have seen bulldozers older ones with replaceable tips like that go on the blade
Thank you
That is a point that is interchangeable for farming implements the tips wear down when they replace them some type of plow
Thanks for the input.
any markings on the axe....
Unfortunately there were no markings, Although it was very scuffed where the markings would have been.
One sign of having a good wife is.. When a wife is detecting while holding the baby in the other arm... I Like your channel..
You got that right! Thanks for watching!
I can tell you from experience , that the old time detectorist back in the 60's and 70's or fun they would find something good finish there beer and deposit the can in the hole . heck I no some old timers that used to take anything that was yankee and destroy they would only keep confederate relics ... as some advice try to find old aerials try netr historical aerials find the out skirt of where they stopped tilling most old time farmers used to chuck cannonballs and sword into the woods so it wouldnt damage the farm equipment ... and check for nearby creeks as soldiers would have been there ...
Oh man. Lol. That wouldn't surprise me with as many cans as we found! Lots of bits and pieces too. Thanks for the tips!
Good video.
Thanks!
Deer 🦌 skull for find of the day. Enjoyed as always.
Thanks 👍
Nice video that Sqautch 🚜 saves a lot of work
You got that right!
Chicken litter is a good fertilizer. I know where you can get some for free. 😏

Well done, guys! Bravo! 👏
Thank You!!!
I miss my chickens. Too old for farm life nowadays.
We love them. One of our favorite things about homesteading.
In awe of God’s handiwork
Most Definitely
Bless it.
;o)
Boys being boys. Love it.
That turned out great!
THANKS!!!
🌲 You found an interesting use for a cedar log 🪵
I pulled a couple of them out of a dozer pile (while on fire). Glad to finally put them to use.
❤
Thanks
well done, thanks, you given me the proof i need to make my own ideas work.
Go for it! I've been happy with this setup so far. If anything changes I'll be sure to post a follow up video. Thanks for watching!
Subscribed for that intro solar joke
Lol. Glad to have you subscribed!
Should definitely have that fan powered via a controller, it's only rated for 12 volts and that solar panel in full sun will be putting out somewhere between 15 and 22 volts, the controller should regulate this down to 12 volts.
As mentioned in the video I am doing this as an experiment. If it doesn't work Ill be sure to do an update. Thanks for watching.
A battery or 2 depending on Amp draw from the fan.. would help alot..
totally agree. it would also considerably increase the expense for the project. Worst case, I will go that route, but wanted to see what would happen with a direct wire setup. Thanks for watching. @@johnandrews3049
Built a high velocity fan using automotive blower motor direct connected to 100 watt solar panel in 3rd year testing hasn't burned up yet. Great full sun goes into turbo mode. Nice fan sitting on porch keeps you cool.
