And our sun is staying less and less each day - sets only after 7am and it's dark as night at around 5pm. In the winter it will be even at 4. Not completely like the far north but something similar ✨

@@rada_dobi Thank you for your kindness and dedication to write such a profound comment! 😊 Since we are still pretty 'fresh' villagers I'm not aware of all the tricks yet 😁 BUT just by thinking it through- wouldn't the leaves still be there in the spring and we would need to rake it anyway- all rotten and much harder to remove? 🍂 Because the grass will start growing again and we will need to cut it 😊🌲

@@egleya I understand your concern and I myself am quite new to leaving the leaves. Moved to my new place last year in december and before that it was my dad who decided the leaves have to be raked. On our property we do not have as many trees as you have but after winter I do not remember any leaves being left. The Earth takes it back as much needed nutrition. 🌱 I just read it everywhere, that one should avoid raking leaves as it is meant for them to stay there, nature doesn't rake, she decomposes. I suggest try it yourself, leave them in some places, rake them in others and see what happens. 🍁 I guess it depends on the kind of tree/leaves and also how long and cold is the winter. That's what I love about finally having my own place, I can experiment and see the results for myself 😍 One rule to follow is to do as little work as possible, we humans have learned to do so many unnecessary jobs when working in garden that most often harm the biodiversity and our backs too. Try doing less and see what happens. 😊 No dig method, not mowing (some parts of) the grass, leaving the leaves. Just watch nature do it's thing, she knows best how things should be done. 🌱 I am so passionate about permaculture methods and all natural procceses, that's why this comment is so long 😀🍁 I wish you calm start of the winter ❄️ (At least here in Sweden winter is almost here.)

@ happy to hear that you are now also in this amazing situation of living in your own space and being able to experiment however you want, that's magical! 💚 Yes, I totally agree with this approach of living WITH nature and not trying to control it totally. For others it seems that maybe we are very untidy or lazy but we just don't see a point to do so much unnecessary work only because someone says so. We have left parts of our garden unmowed (you can see it even in this vlog where I walk through the frost towards our little 'hill' in the garden 😃), raked the leaves only once this autumn, cut the grass I guess two times less often than our neighbours but for that we had plenty of time to simply enjoy life and for example film vlogs like this 🥰 Grow your passion for permaculture, this is very beautiful and I believe helps not only nature to return to its natural rhythms and processes- but us as well, since we can truly observe and learn from it then 🌲💚

The most important part I feel is to be in peace with that and know that even this 'falling down' was from the Bigger Plan. And there was more than one 😅 I also react to it quite sensitively as home is my safe space and it's a first time encountering such things. But now we're having a fly invasion! I'll show it in my next vlog, how living in nature requires to share this life with nature as well 😃
