Sooty & Co - Birthday Boy (1998)

It's Sooty's birthday! But everyone seems to have forgotten....or have they? This was the final edition to be filmed with Matthew Corbett who retired after being Sooty's right hand man since 1976.

Found this amongst a batch of VHS tapes I picked up from a car boot sale recently. A VHS containing a promo for Telewest Cable Television. Giving you an insight in to what you can watch with Telewest. Unfortunately, the first 30 seconds or so are missing, as the beginning of the video had been taped over.

The 90s was the cross over stage from the 80s to the new generation. The Bee Gees were still having hits, and the music was still fantastic. great era.
Ryan Day scored 8 on red hot. 8th red went in just before the buzzer
He scored 7. The buzzer sounded before the ball even hit much less went anywhere near the pocket.

This is soo good, VHS quality in the 90s. But the music was amazing, you just don't get this quality of artist these days. Some absolute classics in there from all genres of music.

I do think dom was a better host for this show but the set deffently looked better in the later seasons
I absolutely remember this episode of TOTP like it was yesterday! Every one of the featured songs bring back so many memories i could cry. At the time i was 16 (almost 17) and at college and without knowing that i was about to embark one of the darkest periods of my life. The early part of 1997 was the last of the greatness for me for the best part of 10 years. This music always makes me feel happy and warm inside.

Apparently Stephen Lee was approached by the BBC to appear on the show.... The contract said "you will be expected to run around the table" he read this.... had a mini heart attack and decided it wasn't for him!
