This really depends on how badly you get fleeced on electricity where you live. Here in BC geo thermal and solar pay for themselves especially in huge buildings or off grid. There are a lot of high end off grid homes here and electric heating on grid is insanely expensive. If you live in russia and your gas bill is 5 dollars a month then of course it's stupid to spend 40 grand on a geo thermal setup or solar arrays and battery banks

Where I live a framer is expected to do the foundation forms and help with the pour too. A lot of guys do everything from foundation to finishing but sub out roofers, electricians and plumbers. They're still expected to be able to do a little bit of plumbing etc. In trades carpenters work the hardest for the lowest pay but it's the most enjoyable imo
