Can you wheelie up on roll ons when giving it some good throttle?
@@Repsol000 definitely can, though I’m absolute shite when it comes to wheels 😆
i got the 19 SP, with full titanium akro tuned by Chris Moore. It's my fav bike
@@CrusaderGeneral nice. Mines a full akrapovic setup. I just had it dyno’d at 186.4 whp. Curious to hear what your numbers are if you got a dyno done
@@Treizez34 I only got 170, your numbers are unexpected.. I thought the SC77 is maxed around 170+.. Gives me opportunities. One thing I didnt do is the airbox mod, that restriction alone is probably stealing 5+HP
@@CrusaderGeneralah sounds like it’s a basic flash with the stock euro tables. That is usually what gets most SC77’s up to the 170 mark (as the U.S. tuning is way more restrictive). My tune goes much farther. I’m a huge advocate of KCS tuning. If you’re ever interested, the guy’s name is Paul Kingsburg. For some reason, he only operates on Facebook but is based in Texas. He knows these bikes inside and out. In fact I’m planning on sending my ECU back to him to fine tune it for the full akrapovic setup I now have (to account for the headers)

Great review, bro. Love my SP as well.
Hey love your videos, just bought a 17 base model with 2k miles, any idea on how i can reach Paul to flash my bike
For whatever reason he seems to use Facebook as his main contact. Look up Paul KCS kingsburgh (i think that’s how you spell his name). I think you can also try and find him on Instagram too, but I don’t know how often he checks it. Rcfourfive is his IG account. He’ll talk to you about what you’re looking for and send a build sheet. He takes payment from PayPal so it’s secure. At least he did when I flashed mine.

Hey man I have the ecu and stacks came in. Can’t wait to test it, been raining in NY lately. Question is your mode 1 to 3 still works after the flashed. ? Thanks
Yup. Everything works but they’re mapped differently and will feel different. They’re better and more useful now, you just to have to relearn how the power is delivered.
@Treizez34 Thanks bro
Love the Tails! been there last year with my car this year with my 22 RR after flash I wanna go there Did you try check out the foothills parkway It has a smoother pavement and longer sweepers
Foothills parkway is the BEST! That and the cherahola
Honestly the foothills parkway is like my go to. It's so nice to have the smooth roads and long sweepers. It's nice to be able to see what's in front of you for a good ways.
Hey man did you get the euro stacks as well from KCS?
Yeah, a definite must have purchase without a doubt. I'm conviced my bike wouldn't be pulling as hard as it does now without them (also, you should remove the restrictors on the intake funnels on both sides)
@Treizez34 Thanks Man im working on sending my ECU to Paul. I Already removed the restriction plate. Ride Safe Brother.
@@mr2dsp awesome man. Let me know what you think when you get it back, but I’m sure you’ll love it
Hey man how's the bike . Been looking to get a tune also. Bought a used 22 cbr1000rr do you have to send the ecu out ? How much is it. Thanks
Bike’s been good, still no issues. Yes you have to send out the ECU so budget a little for priority shipping to cut on the down time. It’ll transform the machine and is totally worth it!
@@Treizez34 just noticed that this bike likes to ping detonation. On abrupt throttle even on 93 octane. Messaged RCfourtyfive already. What's the cost of tuning. Do you have to take it to dyno. ? Thanks man
Hey Ahole. In Miami we enter into the intersection and not stay at the line when making a left. That way more than 1 car can go at a time.
Mine went bad around 12k (none sp 19 abs). Seems like if you get a cbr, get a cct for later. You’re going to need it. I also went oem.
It's the best option IMO; manual cam chain tensioners are great if you're racing, but if not then it's another thing you have to keep paying attention to to constantly adjust. Not worth it in my opion (also, OEM is cheap and simple)
The best move is a manual cam chain tensioner. Fire and forget.
Question for anyone with KCS tune. Did you remove your o2 sensor and if you did. What process did you take. For example did you plug ecu back in then let bike run for 5 min and then go and remove what the flash disabled
Negative on removing the O2 sensors. Everything on the bike itself was left as is and functioning. No check engine lights of any kind in almost a full year of being tuned
thank you good sir. I get my ECU back in couple days and can't wait!!@@Treizez34
@@thrasherdeej you’ll love it man. It’s a night and day difference
@@Treizez34 just got it all put together and you weren’t kidding. It’s amazing! Lol. I got one more question for ya, I did my first recording today on my GoPro hero 10 and had a lot of wind noise. I have the media mod so do I need to put the sock over the mic to help with that or is there something else I need to do?
@@thrasherdeej I’m not really sure what would be the best approach as I’m still using the GoPro hero 7 black lol. It’s all about just making sure your mic is tucked somewhere where it will really prevent the wind from hitting it directly. I have mine tucked in the cheek pad and a little away from my mouth. The windsock is a must
Where is the Honda reliability when we still have this problem in the newer models? We have problems with cam chain tensioners for more than 20 years.
cct are problem in all brand, almost all sporty bike. But honda have reliable engines, mine cbr is 20 years old and don't consume oil
The NC Mountains are amazing! Really enjoy it.
They really are. It’s incredible up there

Hello I test this bike too and is my first sport bike test bike and just was amazing , now I want to buy this or the new 2022 cbr 1000 rr basic, so what you recommended about the feelings between both bikes, i don’t test the 2022 so Iam not sure what I should do, don’t want to buy the 2022 and have not the same feelings lol
I think we just connected on this on another Social Media site but the current new RR (not Triple R) is the same bike as mine so a lot of it is going to apply to the newer 2022 and up models (as long as it's the same SC77 and not the SC82 which is the Triple R). So it really just comes down to if you want a slightly older bike but with better suspension, or something a bit newer. If you don't track the bike much, the standard Showa will probably be the better bet as it's slightly more comfortable (I'm assuming it's like my old 2016 CBR1000rr that had the showas) and it's still a great setup to attack the corners with. BUTTT....nothing beats Ohlins and I love the adjustability you can get out of the system (but I'm biased because I track the bike as well and I can definitely feel the difference).
might reupload this: I don't know why this looks so horrible
i think the resolution is the problem
How did you get the top bolt out? I'm having the same issed with that noise.
It’s been a while but I believe we used an angled head to get in there
Hey, what do you think of the akra slip on, does it sound louder than stock?
So I have both Akra slip-ons (the short pipe and the long one). The short pipe really does make the best tone, but for the way I ride my bike (sometimes I like to cruise around the city and not really be high in the RPM range), I found the short pipe got a little annoying as it drones when you're not on it at full speed. The Long Pipe is not as loud (still wayy louder than stock) but it's a really good compromise in noise between the stock exhaust and the short akra pipe. It's what I run all the time now. I thought I'd switch back to the short pipe for track days, but I honestly don't really have a need to anymore. The only thing to keep in mind is that the short pipe really messes with the fueling (a lot of bad flat spots in the Rev range), so you need to flash your ECU to balance everything out.
@@Treizez34 Thanks for the answer. I also had the short akra gp can once, but it really was way too loud.. also unfortenuately here where I live, we can get fined up to 10'000$ if they catch you so I put back the stock can. So you think it's worth it to just get the slipon?
@@zand89 100% man. It also comes with the controls for the baffles so if noise ordinances are a thing for you, you can have it get real quiet under 5k rpms which would really help. Overall, I love the long Akra slip-on and have no intentions of changing it out for anything different. It's the perfect tone IMHO
How does the quick shifter work? Do you only use clutch when coming to stop? Can u shift up and down without clutch engagement
It works amazing! The bike has multiple configurations for how much pressure you need to activate it so it's really nice. It's really smooth all the way through (up and down). I don't think I could ever go back to a normal shifter after having this now.
How are you enjoying the kcs tuning ecu flash? I have the Akra shorty slip on mine at the moment but don’t wanna spend more on the long Akra 😢
I love it! I’m sure he can tune it to run well with the short pipe. Most tuners can. I just use the long one as a matter of preference for sound when at cruising speeds (it’s a little quieter than the short pipe)
That wasnt Eleanor. Jus another 1965 gt500. Clean but not Eleanor
Oh well, I’ll take one either way 😂
love this, i sold mine in 2020 when i got laid off, but going to look at a used on today and im stoked.
Awesome. Good luck, I hope it works out. These are fantastic bikes
What is your average range on a full tank??
Well….I mean it depends…. Sometimes I’m beating on it nonstop and getting less than 90 lol… other times (more when I’m in the mountains and never high up in the rpm’s) I can get 150 give or take. It really depends how you ride it. Keep in mind it’s a sportsbike so fuel economy isn’t this thing’s strong point😬
@@Treizez34 thanks man im trying to get this bike as my first bike
How much hp did the ecu flash make?
Tbh I don’t know; haven’t dyno’d it yet. But the butt dyno makes me believe it’s got to be at least 165 at the wheel now if not more.
Don't be nervous , it will only do what you want or let it do. Have fun be safe.
I have the same bike I did a flash and tune and I bought graves headers with my slip on yoshi pipe no velocity stacks yet but the headers make it shoot flames now
I have the stage 3 with velocity stacks, mwr filter, full system, 620 chain and 2 up in the rear. My 2019 is a beast with the kcs tune. I had Moore mad and slr tune it previously and those tunes didn't come close to his tune. I mostly use power one with all tc off because i like wheelies. Snd i can do them in every single gear but i usually use 3rd or fourth gear and first and second for power wheelies. in tight corners I use power 2 with traction 2.
I plan to have Paul do my 2018 fireblade soon. Looking forward to it.
@utuber4u1 you absolutely should. I've tried a couple of different tunes on my cbr. All were inadequate. The euro version pushes 175hp to the rear wheel without a tune, and for some reason, all of these big name tuners only get 165hp to the rear with a tune. That literally makes no sense? Well, actually, it mean they don't have the knowledge to tune this specific bike. It's much different than the gsxr, Yamaha, and zx10r. Paul took the time to learn how, and it shows! My bike is a beast, and I'm no stranger to fast bikes. Even after owning this bike for almost 2 years there is not a time I get on it and am thourly impressed 😎
@@jeremybly 100% agree. Paul is the most knowledgeable person on the planet besides Honda engineers on how this bike operates. If you get it flashed by him you won’t be disappointed. You have to find him on Facebook as he doesn’t have a website. Paul KCS Kingsburgh. Don’t worry, he’s legit and if you search around, everyone will tell you he’s excellent to work with
I have a Moore Mafia dyno tune with smith dimpled volocity stack,P08f1-85 filter and full ackro racing exhaust , air restrictions remove and only made 165 hp I felt sad with those numbers. So I will have Paul do his thing with a mail and see how much better I gets
Hi I had replied here 6 months back regarding the rattle which got fixed by changing the tensioner.. unfortunately the rattle is still there… what I have figured now is tht it’s not the chain tensioner… the Honda guys here say it’s the after market air filter ( Bmc ) .. so gonna try this too .. switching to stock oem filter.. as I just have a slip on akrapovic and ecu is not flashed…
Well if it’s a rattle I’m not sure; could be anything. The noise here was more of a grinding type sound. Hope you get it sorted out soon
Can I ask how did u fix urs
@@themusclebiker2023 well my issue was the cam chain tensioner. I replaced it with the OEM one and it went away. This might not be what’s happening to your machine though, I’d get it properly diagnosed by a tech
You need to buy high qualitiy gas especially in low rpms with new exhaust and airfilter your bike is running way to lean. With good qualitiy gas it should fix your problem.
Nice days to ride, otherwise with full gear melt city. Proud of your for wearing gear at all. Great job 👍
Thank you. I take Riding seriously and always gear up no matter what. I’ve been down enough to know better 😂
What windscreen are you using?
Zero Gravity Corsa. Needed as much wind deflection as I can get on this bike since I'm 6ft.
So was the Metallic sound your cam chain tensor or water pump. I have the same hike same year and ha e the noise around 4k-5k rpm. A rattling Metallic
Ah you totally reminded me lol.... Yeah it was the Cam Chain Tensioner. I got a new OEM one for 60 bucks and replaced it and everything was fixed. The bike also ran smoother as well
@@Treizez34 I figured that what it is. One last thing, did you do it yourself or the shop and the $. And the CCT on the outside of the block or inside?
@@rocket25071 I did it myself. It's on the outside of the block. Just pull up the tank and you'll see it on the right side. You might need a swivel ratchet extension to get to it, but it's pretty easy and straightforward. Don't waste the money at a shop for it.
Do yourself a favor, also, and buy an extendable magnet just in case you drop a bolt trying to get it out of the bike (the space isn't super tight, but one side can be a little challenging)
@@Treizez34 Outstanding! Much appreciated brotha
This video makes me miss riding.. and want to move to Florida.. lol Happy New Year
There’s always time to get back on twos! Happy New years my man, here’s to you and the family for 2023!
As dumb as it sounds, I’m having a hard time deciding between a sp2 and a 2022 busa in my area.
Ha, well they’re two completely different bikes. The Busa is more of a Hypersport “tourer” than superbike. It was built to eat up miles at high speed and be comfortable doing it. The SP, on the other hand, is a focused track bike meant to hit the race track. It’s more nimble and sharper handling than the Busa, but of course the Busa has insane top end power that you’d need to put money into the CBR to match (but is not that far off in stock trim). All depends on what you want. Personally I’m a sucker for styling and the CBR wins for me on that front. But the Busa is definitely more comfortable
@@Treizez34 I’m aware they’re different; I wanted something comfortable, sporty, fast, exciting, and can take out in the country and to work from time to time. I decided on these two because I believe they fit the bill. I loathe naked bikes so I’m at an impasse.
@@pauly1k Yeah i feel you on the naked bikes. I've ridden them and they are great to ride, but I just can't get over the styling. Not my cup of tea
@@Treizez34 I feel like if I got an sp2, I’d be wasting its potential just using it as a street bike, no matter how sexy it looks.
@@pauly1k hogwash! I waste it’s potential every day on the street and have never once regretted it lol
So I thought I'd give everyone an update to this video: I ended up replacing the cam chain tensioner (kept it OEM straight from Honda) and it has fixed the issue. Surprisingly, the old cam chain tensioner seemed fine, per all the inspection points listed in the service manual. I guess it just needed X amount of pounds of tension from the unit and it just wasn't giving it anymore. FYI: the part is dirt cheap (like $65 bucks) and you can easily do this job yourself, no reason to spend hundreds at a shop.
Did you set it to TDC or use a tensioner tool??? I replaced mine with a manual cct but am thinking of going back oem
@@nicskeptic you don’t need to worry about that if your just replacing the tensioner. The OEM part comes with a tool that holds the tensioner piston in place so it’s literally installing the new part and pulling the pin out when your ready to restore tension. Very straightforward and simple. You will definitely need an angled extension, however, to get one of the bolts out (and back in).
Change cam chain? I was changed. But The symptoms haven't been resolved
@@Treizez34 Got my oem out and manual cct in with a stubby open end wrench. My rattle is more of a chain saw clatter. I hear it in yamahas but subtle, my cbr is a lot louder rattle. On acceleration and on let off, worst around 5000rpm. Thanks for the info bro!!!
@@nicskeptic good luck, hope it got fixed!
I had the same issue and it’s solved now .. lucky it wasn’t tht bad so only thing I had to change was the timing tensioner
Thanks for commenting this; I’ve been considering the timing chain tensioner also. This might be what I needed to give it a shot. Did you just buy the tensioner or any other parts on top of it?
How long have you had the bike? Is it a 21 or 22 model?
It’s a 2018 SP
leaky head gasket
Quite certain it’s not; once I replaced the water pump, the coolant leak was resolved. I think the noise I’m hearing is the cam chain tensioner as it’s starting to rattle more these days
@@Treizez34 sucks they don't have gear driven cams anymore like my RC-51. I had a similar sound at a similar rpm on my old rsv4 that turned out to be my front carbon fiber hugger. At a certain rpm it would sing. I actually liked it. Kinda harmonized with the exhaust note. Maybe try adjusting the torque on those screws.
U think ill be ok using this as my first bike if I just stay careful until I feel it out ?
If you've never ridden a bike ever, I wouldn't start on a 1000. There's so much more to riding a bike than just understanding how it accelerates; with that much power (even on the lowest power level) if you don't know how to control it all in you could make a costly mistake. I really would recommend starting on like a 500 or some parallel twin based 650cc bike (definitely not an inline 4). It's a much easier power delivery and wayyyy more forgiving if/when you make a mistake (because you will, it's inevitable for every rider...I still make mistakes but i've trained a lot between race instruction and regular track days so I am better prepared for how to recover if I do)
6:32 "ergh, so much traffic here" Me from where it would be 10 times worse: *laughs
Ha, guess I've been living in Florida too long now. I grew up in New York and learned how to hate every driver in the world lol
