Is AI A Demonic Illusion? (and More Weird Questions) - Jimmy Akin's Mysterious World
🤣🤣
Cosmos 1999😂
Oppenheimer sucked.
Nice. Peace to all.
AI itself is not. Like anything it’s the user who wields it and how they use it. Nuclear power is not demonic, but how people use nuclear power can be. The devil and god is in humans.
If Enterprise hadn’t been cancelled I think it would’ve been the best series.
I somewhat disagree with the assertion that a character like Kira, due to her actions during the occupation, would be harder to sympathize with and hold as one of the good guys in the present day. The younger generations (younger millennials, gen z, gen alpha) have little to no memory of 9/11 and therefore are unlikely to have biased emotional reactions against the character for her background. I also think that morality gray characters and characters with dark backgrounds are popular with younger audiences. while I do agree that those that lived through September 11 would have views colored by it, for those that haven’t, a character like Kira may very well be popular.
Another interesting episode.
Boring beats bad.
To watch, definitely, but it makes it harder on the podcast hosts! 😂
Best movie ever made
Plus under the constitution, only gold snd silver is to be money. Article 1 section 10
Father Mulcahy had many good moments on “MASH.” Sometimes the simplest ones are among the funniest. The main characters are playing poker, and it’s Father’s turn to shuffle. Trapper John tells him, “No outside help, Father!” Father replies, “Oh, no, certainly not, my son!” He then discreetly looks upward. He shares everyone’s lack of enthusiasm for the food: “Our daily bread is stale again!” Whether in comedic or dramatic scenes, Father Mulcahy was treated respectfully by the other characters. He and his faith were never mocked or ridiculed. You both cited some good examples. As a Catholic and a “MASH” fan (particularly the earliest years), I enjoyed your presentation, thank you!
Oh dear... I wrote you a thorough review of the Period points of this story (and where peopel get that wrong nowadays, after 45-odd years have opassed) and the misunderstanding of what 'Tax' is and how that utterly mislweads people on what this story is about (clue: The Company - the very pibnaccle of Capitalism - is the Baddie - NOT 'Socialism'). Alas... this system posted it ... then edeleted it. I wonder why and how.
I s tgere no limit to Jimmy's knowledge?
The show is doing terrible in the ratings... are you guys paid by paramount to say this?
Great work guys. As a fellow Catholic nerd it does my heart good to have this content available.
Wow, I'm glad someone liked it! (though personally I found all the characters to be silly and poorly written and it was clear they tried to add some energy in post production by adding about 3 dozen snap-zooms.)
Daily reminder to pray for Holy Souls in purgatory. God bless you all.
Blessed be God forever.

Thank you for a positive and light hearted review. So many have been distinctly negative.
Great episode. Like Jimmy I had watched the Drinker’s review. It had made me not want to watch it but maybe now I will (although frantic action is a big no no for me). I think a section 31 series would have been best in the Enterprise era (not yet called section 31) and next best in the DS9 era. Oh well.
I enjoyed watching it. There just wasn't enough.
Court in space is exactly right. And definitely boring. At least the King Arthur episodes had some kind of sense of adventure etc.
i dont get why he would ruin hsi reputation doing this
❤
This guy has got to be a saint! And God made him successful here on Earth! Look how good our God is. Today for the 2nd time in recent times his name and tune “Calcutta” randomly popped in my head. (I actually saw and ad for Lawrence of Arabia today and that name immediately reminded me of Welk). And lo and behold I was curious and just looked up his name on google and the first thing I saw is that he was a devout Catholic and communicant. Wow. I am a musician too and wish to be like this man. Now in terms of my career, I do not know. But I definitely want faith and wisdom and perseverance like him, to be faithful to God always in the duties of the world and live out virtue to affect the world in a way that inspires truth and wholesomeness. May he rest in peace!
Speaking of one-off episodes and Seasons 9-10 needing better villains than the Ori, I can't wait for those few glorious Baal episodes!
Did they name baden springs after him
I have unfortunately seen the movie The Beast Of Yucca Flats and Jimmy is right about how bad it is.
So good to find a podcast explaining Vatican II
I have a book that reads different then this called " The First And Second Books Of Adam And Eve " Translated by Dr Joseph Lumpkin what's your take on this one
"Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." Mk 10:15. Don't you see why now?
I’ve heard that Martin Luther said, regarding the hopelessness of concupiscence, to ‘sin on bravely.’ I think this is where they get the idea that believing in Jesus is enough.
Pseudepigrapha, Hagiographa and outright frauds. No wonder these bogus tales never made it into the canon. But ''lost''? No.. they were never lost. They were just rejected for being the garbage that they are.
(Headcannon) I think Ronan was being purposefully rude with how he ate to make everyone else uncomfortable.
That does make sense. In his next episode he also makes people uncomfortable with food!
Sounds like a tale of when there were plently of hunt and fruits to gather, and then we transitioned to work intensive agriculture life style, followed by surplus and the start of trade and empires
Such a fun episode! I think the only flaw, and it's a minor one, is that we never saw Cadman before this and only see her once after this. A slightly more established recurring character might've been more fun. But it's still such a great comedy!
I agree! She would have been so much fun to have around.
That was a good video on Resurrection of the Daleks. When I was a kid, I was like this is the best Dalek story from the classic series and now looking back on it as a grownup it's the most depressing Doctor Who story I had ever watched. I will tell you I did not like Tegan's departure and when she said it is no longer fun, it's like she is saying the show is no longer fun. I had visited the warehouse where they filmed the story, and it is near the River Tames and it is close to the London bridge and if you do visit that site there is a restaurant under the London bridge called the Vault and it has a great view of the River Tames.
Oh thanks for the shoutout. I've gone to a couple of the Autistic Catholics zoom meetings.
Thanks for another great episode! Lots of thoughts. First the best Boba Fett is in Shadows of the Empire (but idk how many video games you play). It’s interesting that you mention you guys are on Tick Tock (for the first time?) right before it gets banned. And finally, although the British police force was unarmed at the time of the episode is that still the case? I think they are regularly armed now but I could be wrong. Anyway keep up the good work.
The power of the Holy Rosary from others brought him the grace of a happy death AMDG
Great discussion, as always. This is when the Silmarillion really picks up for a first time reader, IMO. It's more of a narrative than a list of people and places. Also, the Middle-earth depiction of the Fall is in Morgoth's Ring - it's an appendix of the Athrabeth Finrod ah Andreth (itself very much worth a look, especially from a Catholic perspective).
Just went today it was so cool
Love Padre Pop!!!
Great program. Excellent.
No Rings of Power needs to end. It is an abomination of Tolkien’s work.
