Wilderness and Road Adventures...
I pretty much grew up in Utah, was born in California, folks moved to Nevada when I was 1 or 2 years old. We lived in a lot of out of the way places, in California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Idaho and Colorado. That gave me the greatest opportunity to gain the desire to explore, along with the fact that we were kind of Nomads in a sense. Dad followed mining and construction. Anyway, I've been running around in what I call my Backyard "Utah" for most of my life. I returned back Stateside in '73 and started exploring Utah extensively and have been doing it since. I've seen a lot, found a lot and experienced a great State. In which I'm very grateful and appreciative of Life and Mother Nature. I just thought that after a half of a century and thousands of pics later, that maybe it was time to share. Most of my adventures take place west of the Continental Divide, in the US, but not all. Utah is not my only playground.

A View from above Picket Fork

This is a set of ruins in the southern cliffs of Cedar Mesa in Utah. I can't really say what canyon/canyons they are, but the fork of them is Picket Fork. An early alone morn in October, is beeauutiffulll. "Bagged my Fall colors". Was a wonderfully spent early morning stroll that took until about mid-day to complete, that's for me anyway... I started about 8:45ish. A lot of photog time.

This outing starts out on the Last Chance Loop Road and back around to Cathedral Valley, Capitol Reef NP and heads Southeast from Hanksville, Utah on US 95 to Cedar Mesa. From Cedar Mesa to Comb Wash then up over the Bears Ears on to Elk Ridge. Then on to Moab and Green River areas. I ended up in the San Rafael Swell and Cane Wash areas.

Down to White House Ruins, Canyon De Chelly

White House is the only open hike in the canyon: "Correction, The White House Trail was closed in the fall of 2022". I guess the overlook was closed down as well. One needs to be escorted by a Guide anywhere else in the canyon. Canyon De Chelly (D'Shay) is located in northeastern Arizona, It is on the Navajo Reservation. Access is located on the South Rim between the Sliding House Overlook and ...
