Nostalgic Handmade - Firm Hold Review
This is my review of Nostalgic Handmade - Firm Hold.
Nostalgic Grooming has has a major overhaul of all of their products so this product may very well be an older formulation, meaning, the newer stuff is probably even better.
Nostalgic Handmade is a company coming out of Mesa, AZ and is run by the husband & wife duo of Dave and Janelle Leslie.
You can see all of their products at: www.nostalgicgrooming.com/

Muk - Slick Muk Review
มุมมอง 10K10 ปีที่แล้ว
My first water soluble review and it comes from the company of MUK! Music is by Them Crooked Vultures again and I hope you enjoy. P.S The 'Washability' rating goes hand in hand withe the 'Buildup' rating so in this case the build up will be a 0. Thanks guys

reuzel pink pomade vs uppercut monster hold which is better??? Has high hold????
uppercut or muk?
Does it dry out hair hows the hold
I start using this product and I think is the best thanks man...
It is a greasy mess. Hard to wash out. Not sure about holds
This product is harmful for hair?
As a barber i can promise you its better in dry hair.....being oil based water and oil dont mix well....just takes some practice....not saying it wont work in damp or dry hair but once you get used to it dry hair will gove you the best end result
Just used yesterday and I gotta say I really like it. Does it give nutrition to the hair tho?
It is not too bad. Personally, I wouldn't leave it in for too long.
That isn't frankenstein, it's frankensteins monster
Very true. I sincerely apologise
Good to see you posting again Lee-did send a direct message (as I have done in the past) but TH-cam are scrapping that system next month. Anyhow-everything looks good-did you ever grow out the DT/DA at the back?-would be good to see. And-the beard and moustache have come in great-well done-they look the part. M.J.
Thank you very much!
Good video. Man.
cheers dude
have you tried big slick pomade? nice review
Can't say I have yet, mate. I will definitely get around to it!
Cypress I have a sample of it but it's not with me currently, I will do a review of it once I have it back this September.
What a prick!! Like what it says on the tin really matters! It's what the product does! Awful review.
The Groom Raider do you like rainbows?
They're alright, I guess. I don't really understand the science behind them but they're kinda cool, I guess. You?
The Groom Raider yh Same here!! Different colours and shit!! It's weird,I like you now Groom Raider our love of rainbows is something we have in common. :)
I'm glad. In all seriousness, I know these reviews are shit. They're like 3 years old and really shoddily produced. I am going to be making more reviews in the future that will be a lot more in depth and actually have some production value behind it. I shall make sure to talk more about what is inside the tin.
Didn't know euron greyjoy cares about his hair so much
You know what. That's not the worst GoT comparison I have got so I will take it haha
I had one of this product 6 months ago but used it few times, maybe after this video I will use it much more than before!!
You should do, they are great!
The Groom Raider I just had a problem with washing my hair!!
It is a pomade that will stay in your hair for a while. Some like it, some do not. Maybe a water based would be the best for you
The Groom Raider thanks for the reply and the advice bro
My pleasure, bud.
I love MUK, i live in Australia, have used it for almost 10 years now its heaps popular here. Dope product, the pomade is my favourite :) it's probably my favourite pomade all together acrually ey.
Time for a new video! miss you!
Thank you and ...... ;)
hey hotie more video pls
;)

MARTIN DAGREAT 18 USD
MARTIN DAGREAT They sell sample packs
Cost me about £15 mate. Also, thank you very much :D
wowwww
Is this oil based??
yeah
Is it cause hair loss if he stayed for a period of 24 hours or more
No hair loss
Hi good video. Maybe you could answer a question i have. Do you know what stuff a barber sprays on the hair and then uses the hairdryer? Its not pomade as he puts that on last. Thanks
oldskool a heat protector maybe?
I found out. Its grooming tonic
WHERE ARE THE VIDS
This stuff is difficult to wash out. I have to wash my hair in two separate goes i.e. Wash today and again tomorrow for it to wash out completely. I apply it to dry hair. Any suggestions?
auessis three minute miracle conditioner, make sure its the number three hold, not number 4. Takes all the pomade out.
That is unfortunately the down/upside of pomades. On one hand, they do not wash out when you want them to but on the other, if you wake up late and do not have time to do your hair there will be pomade in it still which has come in handy many a time. Trust me lol
Best advice i give my clients when using grease based pomade is instead of washing your hair with shampoo first then conditioner.....throw conditioner it first then without washing it out put the shampoo on top of it and wash it out together...what this does is allows the conditioner to break down the pomade then the shampoo helps it all come out! Best technique ive found so far....you can also use like dawn dish soap too hahaha
Ripped my shit hard. Lol. Spat my tea out 😂
I definitely doesn't feel like puppies kisses ;)
Lol this guy looks a bit like John Bradley from Game of thrones (before wax)
I am John Bradley from Game of thrones (before wax)
I love this product. I was going to try dax or Murray's to see what they were like but you helped me to realize I should just stick to the better product. thanks.
I would still recommend both of them pomades but I am glad I could help mate
This or layrite ?
Only ever used Layrite when my barber puts it in but for the price I would go with this
KB MUK all day
When you say it goes out in about 2 washes, do you mean that you just schampoo your hair twice to be able to wash it out?
Yeah mate, 2-3 washes
The Groom Raider That's pretty much how I wash my hair anyways so that works great for me. Thanks!
No worries, mate
Hi guy, can I use it in wet hair ? Because so many time I try use wax and pomade in dry hair, it's very difficult for me to make a shape for hair. Thank you!
Yes mate, wet hair should do the trick!
Great video i use it alot :D
+Mozwin Noronha Quite a handsome chap too
What's better for hold and shine dax wave and groom or dax short and neat ( blue tin)???
+harki singh Red tin, mate
+LeiAherne7 thx
Blue has great shine and Red has great hold so get both I guess? hahah
+LeiAherne7 lol ok!
Good Joob.. But Should I Make My Hair Wet Before Put It ?!..
Yes mate
Shitty review. Long winded.
Cheers mate.

So happy you had Miles Kane in the background.
Miles is the man!
Does it dry out your hair much?
About as much as water based pomades do really
Uppercut made in Australia bitchez ,,, I'm a user and a lover.
It is good shit
Your pomp with that hair color looks so similar to Eddie Cochran's. Awesome!
Thank you mate. Great person to be told my hair looks like
This stuff is great, it may not wash out well, but who gives a shit if your gonna apply it the following morning! I get tons of compliments on the final product. By the way, your music taste is on point! Them Crooked Vultures, Foo Fighters, and Arctic Monkeys in the other video... You should check my band out Them Evils! We're on iTunes, Spotify, and Soundcloud
Glad to help mate and I sure will check you out
Is it better than Dax Wave and Groom?
Wave and Groom is oil based. They can't be compared because Suavecito is waterbased. I perfer oil based pomades any day over water based. Only time I use water bases is if I don't feel like going through the hassle of degreasing.
^ This guy has it.
Yeah i used both and dax worked better doe.
DAX is better, not gonna lie haha.
Great video, this kind of sealed the deal for me on buying this. Nice music btw Queens of The Stone Age?
No, it's Them Crooked Vultures.
Glad to hear tis video swayed that thought. I am glad to be a service. It's Them Crooked Vultures which is uber close to QOTSA. Amazing band though, check them out.
I've tried Uppercut deluxe, that shit was great but i'm still thinking about trying this on.. its expensive and i dont really known if i should be buying this or stick to the uppercut deluxe.. can you help?
Bro, if you don't mind washing your hair a bit more. It takes like two washes but it's not that bad considering you god solid as hair for the entire length you have it in. I ride my bike so wind rushing ruins every other product, but this stuff truly holds. Maybe a nice touch up, but the hair is intact. My opinion, is try it if you want a really nice hold and you don't mind staying in the shower a bit longer.
Try DAX, it doesn't have as good hold but is a great pomade too
is your hair slightly damp before applying the dax? I have the same length as you but i think my hair was too try as when i tried to put it in, it ripped hard was a bit of a disaster
My hair is actually really quite wet. I do my hair fresh out of the shower but I dry my hair to the point that there's no water dripping off. Definitely wet your hair dude. Hope this helps :D
The Groom Raider Thanks for the tips and for getting back to me! nice one
Akaimayn Not a problem mate! (He says three months later) XD lol
The Groom Raider No problemo!
agree about the hold. where i live it's hot and humid and a lot of pomades don't survive the commute to work, let alone the course of the day. i've played squash for an hour after work and my pomp is still intact when i walk off the court. me, i absolutely love the scent -- the mint with some tea tree ... and there's something else in there i can't identify. it's really clean and fresh and you get wafts of it during the day. i reckon the build up is pretty good ... i usually use this for the first two days of the week, then switch to a lighter pomade wednesday-friday. then takes me the whole 2 days to degrease my hair, ready for monday. my absolute favourite pomade -- introduced to it when i got a cut back in london this summer. personally, i put it in dry -- works better for me in the heat; i find my pomp sets quicker than styling from wet. glad to see a review of this -- thanks.
you seem to share the same concerns that I have when using pomades. I want to ask pomades you use personally for the rest of the week? Cos I thought of buying this one and the Lockhart's Authentic Heavy Hold Hair Pomade (it was recommended given my concerns).
LiqCharles depends ... right now i am going for a slightly looser pomp, not so 'high and tight', but generally, day 3 would be the blue sweet georgia brown or dax green and gold, days 4-5 would be black and white or murray's hair-glo. i found murray's nu-nile to be pretty medium-light -- kind of between the two. if i wasn't too bothered, and if i had a good build-up, i might not add any pomade on day 5 -- just back comb my hair with a wet comb and restyle from scratch. it still holds pretty well. like i said, right now i don't like it too perfect. what i find with the build-up is that as long as i get a good foundation at the start of the week with the monster hold, then i can pretty much play around with it as i like on days 3-5, experiment and see what happens. if i wanted it perfect without a hair out of place, then i would maybe use the sweet georgia brown/dax for days 3-4 and the really light pomade only on day 5. i have really thick hair with a wave -- so i need to get my hair tamed, but i also like a bit of the curl to come through -- i don't want it too slicked. i have used the bee's knee's strong/heavy hold and liked that, but couldn't get a really well-held, high pomp ... lower and looser ... and i have been thinking of maybe trying dax's high and tight in the future as as an alternative to the monster hold (i like coconut), but right now will stick to the uppercut ...
honestly, not hairstyle is on my mind. I really just want my sides and back to stick. they stand out even tho its been weeks since i got my haircut. its so dense and thick. :O i probably need an oil based to prevent sweating the stuff out. :) do you think this one will do the trick? and do you also wash your hair with shampoo every 3 days?
LiqCharles i only wash my hair at the weekends -- so friday night to sunday night. from monday night i don't use shampoo until friday night comes round again. that's where the build-up comes from. your problem could be that your hair is too short, the pomade is too light or maybe the pomade is fine but you don't use enough. i hate water-based pomades. for me they don;t work ... maybe the heat/humidity. they are too like a gel. i use oil- based, except for bee knees, which is 100% natural. maybe try more pomade and see if that helps -- and definitely would suggest you leave it in all week. the longer you leave it in, the better the build up, the better you can control the hair and keep it slicked down. i don't like leaving the pomade in for 2 weeks -- maximum of one
i havent tried a single pomade. my country doesnt readily have them available. ill have to ship from the us first so itll be my first time. it may be too short but ill still try an oil based. i just hope this monster hold does the trick. :)
