He is a great guy. it has been a while since I have talked to him. I used to do the check in every Saturday but didn't hear him for many months. So it was great to get him in my radio.

Nice. it is fun when you can do that. I was on AM most of the day today. SSB wasn't to good after the morning.

And I thought he was done doing that LOL.

He was great we had a long QSO. this was just the short part after I asked if he wanted to hear a video gate.888 has a great sounding station.

yes I just got it a few months ago. I hate phones and never need one. So I figured cheap flip phone I can pop the battery out of. So it cant listen and spy like the fancy ones

That day conditions were all over the place. I would hear 498 hitting me in the red and within a minute or two drop out a few minutes later back in the red.

I got lucky the regular channels were so crazy I decided to scan across free band and I hear Soldier Boy so I had to stop and say Hello. I was not expecting to hear any stations i knew up there and Bam it was a great QSO.

That is my main Grant XL it has open clarifier and all the funny channels. and variable power switch for AM. and other mods i can't remember. Somewhere i have the paper that shows everything. I bought it from my buddy's father early 90's who was a cross-country trucker. The first one is bone stock but needs a tune up. # 2 is stock power but has echo and a noise toy in it. I want to take the echo out and put the S/RF, CAL, SWR pots back. They are in the radio all hooked up just need to pull out the Echo board. I was always an AM talker in the 80's and 90's so I focused the radios as AM talkers. The Grant LT Has 1.5 watt dead key with 6 watt average AM PEP 23 watts and ssb 25 watts PEP so a little work done to it. The only one that is bone stock is the Camo face one. The one with Echo would be easy to put back to stock.

I never figured out how to play the spoons. I had a friend whose wife could play the spoons really good.

The Nikon works best outdoors. Its not bad inside. My brother has a nice Cannon a real expensive one. Yes Nikon glass is nice. I search out the Pawn shops and antique places to find Nikon Glass. I can use old stuff but it becomes manual only but that is ok. My Sony Handy cam is just fast and easy to use so I do most of my home stuff with it and Kitties at work. The new iPhone Cameras are insane how good they look. My wife has iPhone and her videos come out super nice.

I had to dial it in with my MFJ antenna analyzer and play with the angle. I am happy where it is and it is only 10 foot up. No one can see it around me. It is not visible from street or to the neighbors.

@@OperatorGoldenGate That would be cool. I still want to drive to the top of the mountains out here and try my Dipole or my A99 and see how I do. its about 4000 ft above sea level. One of these weekends I am going to try it.

Yeah it is warm out here right now. Ash has lost 6 pounds since September. He has 2 more pounds to go. He is like a crack head when it comes to food, have to watch him like a hawk. He is very sneaky

Its a small SONY HD Handy cam. I have a Flip phone. Phone takes terrible pics and not sure if it does video.

I get walked on a lot though. have to try and squeeze between the big boys.
