How does Siete Leguas D'Antanio XA compare to your top 5?
I’ve never had it. It’s on my list. Once I try it I’ll redo this video as it’s a couple years old. Although these are all bangers and must haves IMO.
Hi i have a recerva de la familia and my question is how i can storage vertical
I like it very much. I’m a scotch drinker and I got it for me and guests and last weekend in it up some limes and poured shots with it and they couldn’t get enough. I was drinking the repasado.
Great to hear that! Thanks for stopping by!

Good price!
Excellent review…Best tequila ever!
Thank you! Really appreciate the kind words! It's indeed a great tequila!
Love the video production skillz. The lack of burn and very vanilla forward taste seems like it would contain additives.
Thank you Steve. I totally agree with you. Sorry for the late reply, been traveling. Salud!
Great and funny review! Subscribed. I'm a whiskey nerd and tequila noob, but $450 sounds wild
@@NatsTown thank you! Many more on the way. $450 is wild indeed!
Tapatío excelencia
Another banger.
Rey sol extra añejo is my favorite , is this better than that?
Yes! It has more flavor, is a better value, and marginally beats Rey Sol for the spot as best extra anejo tequila, in my opinion. Your mileage may vary, but for transparency, Rey Sol is my #2. I love Rey Sol. You have great taste!
Siete Leguas is the original producer of Patron. Same tequila in a different bottle and Label. Patron took production to a different distilery and 7 Leguas continued producing with their same traditional method.
best of alll time
I agree!
Agreement!
This was lower than 1800 silver. I am getting into tequila sipping. I didn't know about TMM ratings. I purchased a magazine a few weeks ago at the supermarket. Basically promoting the hipster lifestyle. I bought a mini bottle at the liquor store, Patron Blanco Nom 1492. I am not an expert but I felt Patron was smooth. The 1800 didn't grab me. Thank you for your info.
You ain't lying!!!!!
@@TequilaTales Thx TT. I bought a bottle of Lunaazul y-day, it is smooth. Cheaper alternative to Patron Silver. I have a amiga in Mex City. I hope to revisit her in January. We were chatting and texting on Whatsapp re diff topics, uno of which was Tequila. She mentioned several, one of which was Dragones. I was on TMM. I saw diffuser. Not for me unless u can say otherwise. I go with Blanco and 100% Agave. Again, I'm knew to the sip.

Haven’t had the Tapatio but just picked up some Cazcanes No. 10 still strength. What’s your preference?
Tapatio 110 for the price, but its neck and neck. Im a huge fan of Cazcanes and their blancos in particular.
Tapatio is a quality tequila salud!
Amen! Salud!
You’ve convinced me. I see it priced at $120 in the north Chicago area. You said this is in your top 3 blancos. What’s your other two? Drinking Primo 1861 while watching your vid.
Salud Steve! I like Fuenteseca Cosecha 2018 and Fortaleza Still Strength Blanco. Others I love right behind them include Cazcanes and Wild Common.
Dude, you’re a boss. Funny as hell and great palate.
I appreciate that! Thanks for coming by!
Have you done any mezcal reviews? There is such a wide array of tastes that it is hard for me to compartmentalize and know which ones to try. Even on Mezcal Reviews it’s a bit confusing.
Yeah, it's more difficult and I have a collection I'd like to start reviewing, but I need to organize where to start.
Very impressive…except for 818. Might you be to blame for the Fortaleza shortage?
Yeah the 818 is trash, if you saw my video on it you'll see how I REALLY feel. But it has so much demand I had to review it.
I really appreciate you shedding light on this issue as I must have been living under a rock. I am somewhat new (3 years) to the tequila community but have fully embraced experts such as yourself as well as Tequila Matchmaker. Keep up your great insights. I credit you for my bottle of Tears. Respect!
You are very welcome. Enjoy that Tears! It's my favorite tequila!
You have the worst Spanish accent I've ever heard.😅
One cool thing I learned about Fortaleza is that if you remove the label from the bottle you’ll find the Los Abuelos logo etched out in the glass. As a way to sort of get back at the people who wouldn’t let them use the name they originally wanted. But hold on there, these days Fortaleza Blanco now goes for $80/bottle. It’s now quite difficult to find because of its high demand and the difficulty the distillery has keeping up with it. Another comparable Blanco I really enjoy that more affordable is G4. It’s flavor profile, in my opinion, is very similar to Fortaleza, and it’s additive-free.
Yeah, thats a great thing. And you aren't wrong. Its soooo hard to find right now. G4 is solid. I like their high proof blanco. Have you had that one?
@@TequilaTales not yet but I’ve heard a lot of good things. I really want to try G4 Reposado, Añejo, and maybe the Extra Añejo. Those expressions are also quite hard to find.
@@dave1986R G4 Reposado is an all time classic for me. I like all their expressions but that one is my fave. Hard to find indeed!
You have convinced me to get this…
Come back and let me know if you LOVE it.
Tequila ocho is amazing, I have to try their other expressions
Yeah, cant' go wrong with Tequila Ocho.
It was a better steal when it was under $40!
You aren't wrong!
I think the drummer for tool is a partner in this brand
Didn't know that! Thanks for sharing that awesome fact. Salud my man.
i bought 3 and i want to buy more so i can always have a sip for years when i want it!!
It's worth every penny am I right? :)
Oh, 818... Nah, I'm kidding. Got my basement bar stocked with a few bottles of Santo Fino and Tres Agaves, unfortunately not too many more zero additive options at the local liquor stores.
LOL, yeah, I shredded them in my review. 818 tequila is such crap. Cheers amigo.
It's a cocktail made from combining grapefruit-soda/lemonade/pop and gin. Needs to be absolutely ice cold (best if you put it in the freezer before drinking) and best served with the glass FULL of ice. In finland bars have 3 taps. one beer, one cider and one long drink. Finns usually call it "lonkero" which also happens to translate to "tentacle". Tastes like soda. Will get you effed up REAL quick if you don't know what you're doing 🤣
Long drink + tequila shots gets me feeling good! Thanks for stopping by.
Hey - Do you know if this "zero sugar" Long Drink has artificial sweetners in it? I've heard that Aspartame is unhealthy so I don't want any of it. Thanks
@@travelguy1564 It's sugar free, 100%.
So from what I understand and remember Dobel Diamante is a Blend of Anjeo Reposado and Blanco (unknown ratios) and the 1st too do so
That is true, but then it's FILTERED. I'm not a fan of that process at all. Thanks for stopping by.
Ain’t nothing better than Mexican food. My thoughts.
You ain't lying friend!
Why would I even consider drinking this stuff: 1) it’s made at a contract distillery (NOM 1438) that makes 197 other brands. The distillery is not open to tours, so obviously there is no transparency about how this stuff is made. 2) Not additive free. 3) marketed to a demographic that I’m not part of 4) not overly good reviews from you or others. 5) too much better juice to buy at a better price.
This is why we do the reviews! Thanks for stopping by!
@@TequilaTales there is so much wrong with this brand: production; marketing & quality, that it is not even worth trying. Thank you for the review. You’ve saved me time and expense and I appreciate that. I’m sure they’ll find success in the market that they’re catering to, but not being part of that market, I’ll avoid the brand. Just as I avoid Bud Lite.
This guy can't pronounce the words correctly
Your really talking trash to an AI bot. :)
Still giving one away? 🤣 Great review bro! I love the Los Abuelos/Fortaleza brand! Any idea on how many WB's were made each year? I do know it varies each year.
No, but I have more giveaways coming soon. It’s only a few thousand that make it to the US
If you really like this blanco then you have to try their extra anejo it is pricey but I guarantee you will not have tasted better I can't wait till I see your face when you try it.
On my list!
This holds my top spot for the number one Blanco. It is really the pinnacle of Blanco tequilas. I bought two bottles.
Its unreal, I can't argue with that!
I was wondering if you can do an updated list for 2024 if your palette has changed.
Yes, it’s in the works. Plus there’s some new ones.
Never reviewed the product promised in the title. Change the title so that it represents what the video is about!
Anything else you want me to do with AI videos? 😅
Love Tequila Ocho! the first tequila that made me realize it’s as complex as scotch
I celebrate the entire brand! They do a great job. Salud!
Makes me wonder if there is a conspiracy by the Tequila industry who use the additives to tarnish Tequila Matchmakers initiative? I love the information put out by the Tequila Matchmaker and I too learnt a lot from their web site as well as Additive Free program. Can they run this program from the USA (Outside the jurisdiction of Mexico Govt) ?
I don't know what their plan is. I think it's the fact that the vast majority are NOT additive free and some big people are against the additive free initiative.
I am a rum man and I am looking to branch out into tequila. Now in the rum world, this aging and charcoal filtering technique is EXTREMELY common, most “white” rums (outside of some rhum agricoles and jamaican rums) are aged and charcoal filtered to remove color. It is generally acknowledged that they take the lower quality aged spirits and choose those to filter. These are very good rums for me, I’m a white rum sipper, I love the charcoal filtered style. When I heard of cristalino, I was excited because I assumed that would be a good jumping off point for me into tequila. I was completely appalled to see they were MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE AÑEJOS?! For what I’m used to, the ‘aged and charcoal filtered’ styled are the least expensive in the line up by 2-300% compared the añejos. I think cristalino could be a totally legit style, but it definitely needs to be much cheaper than their añejo for me to consider it. Looking into nice blancos.
As a rum man you should check out the Tequila Ocho "Tropical" anejo release. It's aged in rum barrels. :) Let me know if you can find it - it's sorta rare. I'll do a review soon so please subscribe.
@@TequilaTales That sounds really interesting, I’ll pop by total wine this weekend to see what they have :) If you like interesting cask finishes and want to try some good rums, Don Q out of Puerto Rico has some great ones. They are committed to additive free rum and the prices are excellent for what you get. Their cognac and sherry cask finishes are very good. I may run it by them to see about a tequila cask finish when I tour their distillery this year, they love suggestions :)
@@nebblepoppishire3037 Thanks, I love Don q!
I hope they move to America and reinvent themselves….Tequila Matchmaker changed my life for the better!
TMM is a game changer, I hope they prevail as well. Salud !
Hard to impossible to find in the northern suburbs of Illinois. Went to the Kenosha Woodman's Grocery in Wisconsin, found a bottle of the Blanco. Tried it on Wednesday, like drinking heaven, best tequila I have ever tasted. A little expensive now, but worth it.
