Hello, well, first I would say 15-2000 dollars is a pretty good price for a 5th scale rc car, IMO. Now, if you aren't running large-scale cars already, ei: X-Maxx, K8, or something else, then batteries cost can be taken into consideration for sure. My X-Maxx XRT batteries fit, so it's no big deal for me. 🤷‍♂️ As far as handling, it handles great to me as I run heavy, large-scale cars, so my opinion may be biased. I have put the kit into 1600kv and 1275kv VXL motors. Look at the rear bell end of the motor, it had will have the motor size on it.

Hello. 5 years old is an awesome age to get them started. Your new X-Maxx should have come with a 17 tooth pinion gear, so put it in, and it will wheelie for you. Hi. These wheels are from the front of an old school Rovan Baja 5b King Motors edition. I'm not sure if you can get them with the aluminum beed lock rings, but they do sell them with plastic. The tires are Proline Trenchers. Cheers and thanks for watching. 👍🇨🇦🤠

I did the same and more to my first VXL Rustler 4x4 back in 2019. I got every upgrade Traxxas makes for them. I have over 1500 bucks Canadian into it now. Crazy eh.😂

Ok, so personally, I like the 1600kv motor because it turns more RPM on either 8S or 6S than the 1275kv motor with 20/50 gears. Now, I also run good fans, Protek or equal, and keep an eye on my temps, especially if the day is hot. 20/50 gears I wouldn't recommend in the current 2024 X-Maxx as they have changed the internal gearing. I'm currently testing and good gear combo for the newest version X-Maxx. I also have an X-Maxx with a Castle MMX8S 1650kv combo in it, and it works awesome. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. It's 40mm. A bit bigger than I usually install but I haven't been able to find many mounts that fit these size motors. This mount is for a 17 series castle motor. Hope this helps you. Cheers.

I have a video comparing the 2. Aluminum doesn't add that much weight. The Ultimate doesn't come with new gears. Only the newly released belted has new gears.

Anyone else think Traxxas just recently realized that the Xmaxx and XRT were actually competitively priced with the 8s competition and threw some worse tires on along with gears it should have had from the beginning and jacked the price up another hundred bucks? I don't think those tires cost $100 more than the regular tires. I used to be Traxxas or nothing. I still have one Xmaxx and a TRX6. Since getting the Vigilante I'm finding fewer reasons to keep the final Xmaxx around.
