Why describe the warrior as plural rather than singular? Why they/them instead of her? Makes the story confusing is the narrator describing multiple characters or just a singular character? My brain is hurting.

In the beginning, there was a Bond between Human and Dragon. As the ( who I will name Dra'gaar ) Victor gets up from the pile of pots he fell into. Anger and hatred reddened his face as he prepared to back-hand smite Dre'gaar. As Victobegan his strike, Jason jumped between Victor and Dra'gaar shielding the chirping babe. As Victor drew Jason 's blood, he raged, "get out, you're fired !" At that moment, a crystal goblet falls from a table. Then another, and another, and another. Plates ladened with meals began to do likewise. The floor began to tremble. Jason knows in his Heart and Soul that Dra'gaar's Mother is coming. She is angry, and terrifyingly NEAR ! She bursts through the ornate domed crystalline ceiling. She opens her mouth breathing a FIRE that ignites Victor just before She swallow the flaming man whole ! Jason looks at Dra'gaar who looks back before the two look at Mom. Jason carefully cradles Dra'gaar and Mom gently caresses Jason in her claws before flying off. SO THE HUMAN AND DRAGON PAIR ZOOM INTO A SERIES OF FANTASTIC ADVENTURES !
