2 Ingredient Pineapple Jam/ EASY For Beginners
This was pretty cool. My neighbor has a tree that looks birch-ish to me and it's dropping limbs into my yard. I need to trim it at the property line, but (me being me) I am trying to identify what it is to see if I can use the wood, once cut, for smoking meat. Yeah, we southern boys are a strange lot. Thanks for the terrific education, even if I still can't be sure about that tree hanging over my driveway!
@jbblackley Hopefully you find out what kind it is.
Great video, thanks for heads up on the herb mill.
@@monteashmore3730 you're welcome
Awesome looking Inchelium Red garlic bulbs! Beautiful! I am planting mine this week here in central Florida. I vernalized them for a couple of months in the fridge to hopefully guarantee stratification. Not sure if you need to in Tennessee, but did you vernalize yours?
No I didn't. We get a good amount of cold weather and never had a problem of them coming up. I hope you get a great haul.
Can you do a beginners video for the pressure canner?
when do you put the rings back on? I want to give mine as gifts.
I'm new to canning...I thought that once you remove your jars from the pot, they should be placed on a towel to avoid the hot jars cracking from a cold surface?
You can put them on a towel. I have never had a problem with any breaking . You can put the rings back on just to transport . Once you give them, they need to take off the rings.
Hi! Thanks for the video, I'm glad your ketchup turned out well 👍. I was wondering about the taste. I do everything you did but I don't put any spices or vinegar. So with the vinegar, does it have ketchup -y taste?
Ketchup from the store also had spice and vinegar in it. It does taste like Ketchup , mine is a tad sweet but it was from the tomatoes I used. Some of the varieties I grow have less acidity and more of a sweet taste.
Thank you for making your instructions simple.
You are welcome!
I'm somewhat confused on Dill when mine goes to seed I get these tiny little round green seeds on those little flower heads and they don't look anything like Dill seeds that I buy to plant. Those are flat and brown and somewhat tear shaped. What is the difference?
There are many varieties of dill. You may have a different variety than what I have. But all the seeds form on the flower heads.
@@tennesseeurbangarden9680 it is the bouquet variety but I think because I cut the flowers off when they were still green they produce these little balls instead of the seeds maybe?
Yes, they do need time to mature on the plant before cutting. Most seeds are not ready until they dry out. I cut mine once they are completely brown.
@@tennesseeurbangarden9680 that's definitely what I did wrong then I was planning to use them to make pickles so I cut them off early and then the cucumbers weren't ready Lol...but Im just eating them in salads now...Ill know better next time😁
This recipe is amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you like it!
Do you pull the flowers when they wilt? I if you pull them will they not produce seed?
You can pull the wilted flower off and it will still produce seeds. I do it all the time. 🙂
Do you have a list what will grow together? Pairing the vegetables
I don't have a written list but I did a video about companion planting.
A song about land and I'm going to plant something in the back in Middle Tennessee. I'm a beginner but I like to know what two things I could plant? So right now it's September
You can plant garlic right now and greens (spinach, lettuce, kale).
Thank u
What kind of tree is it? What is the name of it?

Sorry you feel that way about learning!
My grandmother had such a green thumb, I would have loved to take up an interest in gardening when she shared that with me. I was in sugar and Disney channel world. Herbs haven’t been super easy for me to start, but my green onion looks pretty okay.
Herbs are some of the biggest struggles... they are drama queens.
@@tennesseeurbangarden9680 I’d love some mint, cilantro, and rosemary on my patio, but if they’re temperamental I don’t have the energy to nurse them.
This video was very helpful! Hopefully my harvest will be good. Thanks for the information on how to harvest them.
You're welcome!
Thank You!❤
Welcome
Question, so when opening and after use just put lid back on and no ring then?
You still use the ring once you open it. You just don't store your jam with the bands on.
@@tennesseeurbangarden9680 Thank you!!!!
Woah hooold up. I was super excited to find someone in my state to follow and kind of grow along with, found you, been binging your videos only to find out you're in the same city as me too?!
WHAT!!!
I didn’t even know they sell seeds wat else do they sell is there a garden aisle
They usually have a small aisle during the summer with garden supplies.
My partner is russian, so of course Dill has become a staple in our home. I've grown to love the stuf too That and sour cream, lol! Dill and cream cheese or dill in scramble eggs is spectacular. Thank you for this very informative video❤
Yes, dill is amazing! I'll have to try it in scrambled eggs, sounds delicious.
@@tennesseeurbangarden9680 it isss!❤️
I got a bunch of yellow wax peppers
I think there are still some varieties that are messed up even now. I planted jalapeno peppers and they were a different type of pepper.
You made a very educational video. Thank you for your patience Your jam is Beautiful If your jars don't seal Don't put them in the refrigerator and use them first. I always put a place mat under the hot jars just in case the counter is cold so they won't break.
How.much heat did you give them in the winter?
I keep my greenhouse heater at 36°. So it won't go lower than that.
My Ruby Red Grapefruit ...4 trees . 7 yrs old survived inside a storage shed at 28 F . The outside temps.were 15 F this last winter. Amazing. I took them outside when ever it warmed up.
I'm sure my greenhouse got lower than 36° because sometimes it struggled to keep up. I'm positive it got in the 20's also. Did you have any fruit on the trees during the winter?
Three trees.have about 20 grapefruit each. Some are 1.5 inches across. I wish I could send a picture. I do not know how to show you..
This video was excellent . Thank you for explaining slowly and clearly. Your Awsome
You're very welcome!
Awesome video, thank you!
My pleasure!
One day the squash is not quite ready. You go out to check on it the next day and over night it grew into a humongous vegetable! Mother nature is incredible!
I made this today, it was amazing. So yummy. Thanks for the video.
Glad you liked it!! It's one of our favorites.
Add 1 top butter to the mixture & NO FOAM.
Yes, you can do that. But I explained in the video that my nephew is allergic to butter , so I don't use it in any of my jams.
Looks DELICIOUS, that's the way my Mom make her biscuits 😋; light and airy
Looks so good I want one!!! Thank you.
It's delicious!
THANK YOU!! 🍑
You're welcome!!
Video too too long! 🙁
Sorry but it's necessary to teach others how to do it, which makes the video longer.
This is basically the way Brenda Gantt does hers. She keeps flour in a bowl... she puts the crisco in...pours the buttermilk in then works it into the dough. She uses a cast iron like that...bakes at 500°. This is good... people need to learn to cook again...spend family time together again...
A lot of old timers only use cast iron and Buttermilk, it's how they were taught and then taught the younger generations. I agree, more people need to learn these skills.
Waw those are some monsters great harvest 👍 🏴
Thanks 👍
Thanks for sharing
Welcome!
Awesome video! Just bought a plant from Lowe’s. I’m totally collecting the seeds for next year. Thanks for detailed info. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
I keep skins on.
Some people do keep the skins on, but most take them off because the skins might have bacteria in them, which can cause spoilage faster.
❤❤❤❤❤
Love the garden content! Us TH-cam gardeners have to stick together. Rock and roll!!
Thanks for the reminder to cut my suckers. It's been so hot & humid here I can only work about an hour or so in the early mornings. Since we haven't had rain here, I usually spend that time watering, yes only at the root's areas. I have basil and marigolds planted in with my tomatoes.
I have split my watering schedule up this year also, it's just too hot. And take breaks with water on hand. You take care in this heat.
Add dill and chili pepper flakes to chicken noodle soup and thank me later!
Sounds yummy 😋
I have to hide my canning pot from my husband. He thinks he use what ever pot he sees to cook in. 😂🤣🤣🤣
😂
Such a beautiful garden, love the zinnias, as they are one of my favorite flowers to plant. You have good advice, and obviously have been doing this for quite some time. Thank you for such detailed information on how to dry, and process the deal as well as the deal seeds for next season.
Thank you for your kind words.
I think they are called "fire flies"
Fire flies and lightning bugs are the same thing
I have heard them called both, depending on where you are at. But where I live, they are lightning bugs. 🙂
I didn’t see you rinse buds . I’m thinking you should … does that affect jelly ?
Why would it? It was put in boiling hot water. Anything on the buds would have been neutralized immediately. I have no pets or anything else to roam my yard. These buds opened that morning.
