First Look: AFR's New LS3 Enforcer Cylinder Heads
Olivia Scaffidi takes a first look at the new AFR LS3 Enforcer Cylinder Heads.
AFR's 238 LS3 Enforcer Cylinder heads feature our Permanent Mold “As-Cast” Technology surfaces on the intake runners, exhaust runners and combustion chambers that allows for extremely accurate and repeatable port location/performance. The AFR 238cc LS3 Enforcer is the first Enforcer casting with 100% AFR design. With a smaller valve and port, this head outflows your OE LS3 casting by up to 20CFM at low lifts, offering greater performance potential. This budget friendly head is perfect for your OEM engine operating below 6300 RPM. They come fully assembled with the identical components found in our higher end CNC ported cylinder heads; such as PAC Racing springs, viton valve seals, machined bead valve locks (not stamped), hardened spring seats, and our one piece 8mm 21-4N/21-8N Stainless Steel valves. They are available without any parts for the DIY. Sold as a single piece, 2 are required per engine.

Applying tire shine the correct way! | Koruworks
Guy has no idea what he’s doing he just flips switches pulls levers turns knobs and nods his head like a washed up old actor 😂
Enjoy your retirement Steve, there is absolutely no one that can replace you!!
ONLY .600 LIFT😂😂 COME ON GUYS
Did the volume go ????
Have you done anything with fords Godzilla engine?
Trying to find the salad bowl episode of engine masters and I find an interview with Steve! Yes please.
What’s the flow numbers for the hemi
I’m curious to see what chart he was holding in his hands
How ya gonna get that clay out of the rings?
All wrong you have no idea how much pre load is on the lifter and if you use a real spring it will bend that pushrod checker.
Thanks for the video it really helped.
Steve and the Westech Performance Group have been a fixture in dyno testing as long as I've been alive(I'm 56), and here's to many more years of it.
"Scat" really means poop. 💩 I, personally, would have picked a different name. 😑
Their high lift numbers are not that good, can get OEM heads ported to out flow these heads by plenty for a fraction of what these AFR heads cost. Just buy the AFR Mongoose 260 heads if want a great head that out flows most everything in its class and forget offshore made Enforcers.
Not the proper way to do this, couple key steps are skipped. Whos running things these days?
3-4 numbers not bad at all. the rest isnt impressive for a 12 deg head and runner size?
So who designed the ports in these heads, curious
Need to get Chris and Tony Mamo back in there while theres still a rep to save. CS and product was so much better in every way. Period...many in the industry feel the same way
What’s the best heads for a383 with 12:5:1fome pistons
AFR the best !
Thank you for your knowledge and videos USA 🇺🇸 TRUMP 2024
Nobody can afford to buy AFR heads... PERIOD!
Their prices are comparable to other manufacturers such as Brodie, Frankenstein, TF…..if you want spectacular heads from any reputable company that stands behind their product, you have to pay from any company. Or you can buy some knockoffs from speedmaster or eBay and roll the dice on quality but then you might grenade your engine.
@@popeye089 I disagree, their average race heads might be comparable to others, but if you want their best CNC heads you're gonna pay through the roof... plenty of other top name heads that perform well for less than AFR... I run as cast Dart pro-1's on my NA 427 Camaro, It runs 9.60's @138. When I priced heads, AFR was considerably more...But nobody's telling you not to buy AFR... If you wanna spend more money on heads, have at it...
What head could. I replace the 624s on a 85 G30 Motor Home need torque
Cute for sure
Best starting point I know of is application: what rpm range am I really going to use? Brutal honesty is the rule, and observing that powerbands have tradeoffs - no such thing as dead flat VE from 3k to 8k - and your torque curve will prove it.
Please for the love of God. Don't measure push rods with a tape measure
Used these guys many times to flow heads for me, being a little guy with little to spend they had plenty of patience with my stupid projects Id bring to their flowbench.
im rebuilding a single cylinder motorbike with a couple of non-standard parts, this video included some points I hadnt considered. Cheers!
i made a set of 283 power pack heads run low 11s and 7:20 in the 8th in a s10 with 1.72-1.50 valves i spent a lot of time on those ! nobody believed they had those teeny tiny stock valves i polished them by hand ! i just ported a set of 906 big block heads for a 383 those went 6:60 in 8th 10:80 in the quarter in a 3200lb car not sure what the horsepower is but id say i probably did something right .
Isn't cfm really the important number?
I’m wondering if my 4.030 bore is a good fit for my 190cc heads-2.02/1.60 valved and 1-5/8 mid length headers to 6000 rpm?
So answer=volume
cool content but damm could we get a better mic
The BEST ARE MADE IN USA 🇺🇸 😍
OMG! I saw the thumbnail and my jaw hit the floor! Go Liv! 😎👍 You rock, girl! 🤘
I wonder if Steve was involved with the first Brownfield heads. I had some of the very first casting. When I ran them on my 287 SBC Gasser engine. The first time out, the head bolts were going down in the castings and the valve seats were going up. So I called Brownfield they wanted them back, ok, I sent them back, they welded them up and CHARGED me to fix them. When I got them back I burnell hardness tested them , they were dead soft. After proving to them how BAD they were they sent me a new set. I SOLD them and kept running my Iron turbo heads, that flowed as well as the brownfield head.
💩field..... 🤨
I had AFR 210 CNC ported on a 434 680hp large solid roller 685 278/284@50 and 383 580hp street roller 575 255@50
That head game is 👌
Alix and Dennis fanboy chiming in LOL
Stopped just after 3 min. All I heard was someone talking about themselves not a product.
AFR is probably one of the best head companies out there. I plan on using their heads on my big bock chevy build. I called to ask some question and the customer service was excellent - informative and very friendly
What a joke
On my 421 sbc I used AFR 220 heads with AFR TXR Titan intake and Holley Terminator X TBI, made 620hp at 6250 rpm and very responsive. Mainly weekend Cruising. Could not be happier. From Down Under.
This video does not even address valve train geometry. At all. The axis of the rocker needs to be 90° to the valve stem at half lift. On a pedestal rocker or shaft, that's done by shimming the rockers fulcrum height relative to the head. THEN you can select the proper length pushrod. Or you can just bolt crap together. Either way 😆.
I have had a little experience around Brownfield heads as well as Hamburg Mopar heads. And a couple of locally cast heads here in Oz. Not very watertight and inconsistent in brinnel. A bit like some China heads today! I saw VobbleVagen Scat stuff,, average. But on recomendations of others I am using their premium off the shelf crank and rods. I know there is better but my budget and power levels do not warrant spending more. I am still talking near 600 347 Ford.
Could i get a 75cc chambered combustion small block chevy cylinder head. 1.94" intake valve size/1.50" exaust valve size? Go Sam Houston.
Are these heads only for hellcats or can i put the 224 on my 392 scat.
You could but the intake manifold bolt patterns different
Best heads for the money. Have to spend thousands more to get a little more performance. They will go 4.90s with nitrous in a 2900 pound car. Cost ALOT More to go a little faster. Ask me how I know.
How do you know? 😜
@@MarkCarr331 $8000.00 dollars in some bes high ports to run 4.50s. Lots of support parts beyond that. 2000 rockers 900 55mm cam 2200 intake. Crazy. Nothing like an afr headed motor with a port matched super victor. Lol. Plus this car is lighter and is being sprayed harder.
@@fstrthnu373 thats absolutely wild. I ordered some 185 renegades for my SBF N/A build
Are they pretty sure the flotek 185 thumpers are at least as good maybe better and the promaxx are definitely just as good
I have some AFR Renegade 205’s that I just got for a SBF stroker.
Sorry I didnt hear a single word.
😂😂😂😂
Scott is the cylinder head man.i ordered the street elimanator heads thanks to scott.hes a very smart professional man.afr is lucky to have this man
If I remember correctly he worked for AFR
