I have no idea if this comment will ever be seen by anyone, however, I want to write it anyway. I first saw this video when I was a Sophomore in High School way back in 2016. Currently, I am a secondary school teacher trying to inspire students to take on and capture their slice of the world. Every now and then, something lures me back to this video. In some ways, it serves as a reality check for me and makes me critically think if I am on the right path. I just wanted to thank you for the creation of this and many of the other life advice videos on this channel. Your creations are something that have truly helped me in life and I do tend to look upon your creations a few times a year.

This is why I'm afraid to visit Australia, I'm convinced everything out there wants to kill you. Hippos with danger sword sharp teeth, kangaroos that will kick you to death, & now koala bears that will rip your face off. This is before we get into the real predators like the lions, gators, & snakes that want you for breakfast. Considering the kinds of dangers I imagine Australians surviving on a daily basis, I would never pick a fight with one. I don't care if the Australian is 5 years old.

Also there is something that originally was introduced to the world from around where you are rn which is collective karma. There are many different kinds of karma and according to those who believe in collective karma if some memebers of a group cause harm to others for no reason and the decent ones fail to stop them then collective karma will hit back at ALL of them even if some among them are innocent or kids or women or whatever. I'm sure the ones you were talking about in relations to whales were refering to that and no one can prove that karma doesn't exist so technically and ethically they're still correct to believe in it.

Objectively and subjectively speaking, I can't agree with what you said about whales and those people who are trying to shield animals from getting killed or abused to death are "psychopaths" because they're not. They put their make up on for themselves because they enjoy it! Scandinavian countries seem to be ranked first, second and third in terms of quality of life and progression and security and education and a whole bunch of other stuff for many years now. Personally, excluding countries ravaged by religion and dictatorships and communism and fascist rulers, I think the best country would be different for different people based on their personal preferences. If I could choose where to be born in this day and age though, I'd probably choose to be born in one of those scandinavian countries, mainly because it sounds like my life would have been so much easier and smoother there and they are progressive and modern and very much connected to other progressive countries and with a very efficient education system that would equip me with what I'd need if I wanted to move to anywhere else. Their passports are also pretty strong and I have so far seen no racism or prejudice against them anywhere. So, overall, an easy and comfy life with plenty of choices before me if I was born there. I both agree and disagree. Things like what parents one is born to, in which country or from what ethnicity one is born, what available resources one has, etc. are all purely luck based. Your moving to Japan and your success though is actually work-based. For example Hikikomoris from what I've seen do seem to have an element of bad luck about them since many of them seem to be from overly strict to even abusive families and many of them have had their jobs shut down so them and all those born in poor or dictatorships countries are unlucky imo because they have little to no chance of success even if they tried their hardest. Online though, there are some toxic jealous sad people who tend to be the same as cyberbullies and irl losers who do this as one way to abuse others. You can see them in games too where if anyone but themselves wins, they say "lucky" to imply that the winner or successful person hadn't worked for it or deserve it and to basically try to ruin the person's win or happiness but if it was themselves, they'd claim it was all skills and their own expertise. Another example of unlucky people (who might even be deserving good lives and be good people), there are some core things about a person's life that might take their drive complete out of them like if they have been abused as a child which explains why so many child abuse survivors still are unhappy and unsuccessful even after they move away from their abusive surroundings. So, personally I'd never think that an unhappy person is unhappy because of themselves or being lazy or anything else like that. I'd need to hear their stories first and with some individuals who are from fascist countries or born to bad families or born with health issues, I'd know that they have been through some bad luck and are at a disadvantage to others. But for those who are in free and decent countries those things you mentioned can be generally true.

I see your point. However, I also see how things became like this. Any action and especially wrongdoings have their own response and reaction and reflection. When women and women rights activists and male victims of sexual abuse and sane men (who aren't misogynistic) and feminists and children's rights activists and basically anyone who is vouching for justice and is angered by injustice see that these nasty misogynistic kinds of men and pedophiles and rapists and harassers are running around causing as much harm as they want without being stopped or given the punishment they deserve while both the victims and us who are angered by seeing the abuse, are basically wounded and traumatized and angered even more by this, oversensitivity happens and in that situation, saying anything that makes that disturbing stuff seem any less than they are can cause an oversensitive response just like pouring salt on an open wound does the same too. I see both sides and I know Matt Demon meant nothing bad by that, especially since his life's center are his daughters that he loves them to death and has always spoken against misogyny. But don't worry about it, that hasn't slowed him down and he is constantly bringing more light and awareness about how misogynistic Hollywood and many of the men with positions are and how the abuse women face needs to be stopped. At a time when rapists and misogynist harassers are being identified and there are demands being voiced to stop the abuse women (and men) face by these men, it's not the best time to be talking about the appropriate punishments yet. I don't know about the specific details of the context he said that in but I'm guessing that's probably how some rednecks in the US started insisting on being racist by responding to the "Black lives matter" with "Everyone's lives matter". See how the second saying in that specific situation goes against the first one and implies that the plight and pain the dark-skinned people in the US are facing is "less" horrible than what it is? I'm guessing this was probably similar to that one too so while I'm sure Matt Demon didn't mean anything bad by it, I do think he needed to choose the timing better. At a time when people are still angrily and with open wounds coming forth and voicing how they were sexually harassed/raped/discriminated against for being a woman/handsome/girly/feminine/etc., that's not the time to be talking about how the punishments should be proportionate to the crime. He should have waited a bit until the wave moved a bit from people coming forth and voicing their pain to the rapists and harassers being arrested and THEN when the subject of courts would come up, that would be a proper time to be discussing how punishments for those men should look like. How he said it sounds like when a house fire breaks out and while people are still trying to put it out and rescue any living beings that might be inside the house, someone back there that is watching saying something like "well this fire has caused about 200$ in damages"! Just imagine how other people who are struggling to make sure everyone will be rescued and safe would look at that one person saying that. (sorry if I didn't manage to fluently get what I mean across, my mothertongue isn't English but I'm sure you got the gist of what I mean)

Some suggestions for the safety playlist that might benefit everyone: Personal safety at home/ Personal safety online/ Personal safety in emergencies (natural disasters), Personal safety with money (financially being safe)/ Personal safety at school or university (I doubt you have much background knowledge on this topic but teachers and staff are also the people kids need to be wary of and it's important for them not to overly trust those individuals either but if you did, this topic will help your younger audiences a lot)/ Personal safety in travel/ Personal safety when moving from one country to another country.

Some other ideas for those who like me are living in unsafe countries/regions/cities/etc. Carrying a small mirror can help if the person feels like they're being followed but don't want to turn around and look, they can just use the mirror to see what's behind them. Wearing boots, especially for girls and ladies, or any other shoes that are heavy and at the same time comfortable enough to run with, can also help since that can help them kick more effectively and if the assailant is male, then the boot goes extra miles if the lady or anyone targeted kicks the assailant in his nuts with the boots. Learning to target the assailant's crutch area (if he's a male) also is something everyone needs to learn and focus more on since that WORKS and there are many ways other than kicking where that area can be targeted such as punching it if the victim has fallen on the floor and it can slow/freeze the assilant for a few secs and if packed with enough force even cause internal rupture and organ damage and bleeding for the male assailant so that's also another thing that almost always can be used if the assailant was male. If being followed, another thing that can help is going in a shop with multiple staff and let them know that you're only there for safety reasons and then asking them to call the cops. Another thing to keep the home address hidden is not to walk straight home if being followed.

I feel like most of your general Dos and Don'ts videos (those not about educating us about Japan) are made while you only have decent free and advanced countries in mind. My country doesn't count as one of them and while guns and mace and those kinda extreme stuff are banned here, anyone with a bit of wisdom here will not set foot outside without some kind of defense devices be it a manual alarm or small tearjerker hand sprays or a small knife. I ALWAYS had at least two small knives with me going and coming to and from school thanks to how unsafe the streets are. And no, deciding to move, isn't always enough for a lot of people to be able to actually move otherwise by the time I'd be starting elementary school I'd already have moved to a country with superb educational system to be able to get a decent education on my back at least. Moving to another neighborhood or even worse, to another country is nearly impossible for those of us who are unfortunate enough to be born in countries that don't have their stuff together or are dictatorships and lacking enough money or props to be able to easily get visas and leave such countries. The ones you see and hear on TH-cam are often from free and advanced and decent countries while most of this world's population are trapped in countries that are dictatorships/poor/underdeveloped/war zones/etc. Oh and the knife does work in self defense at times. Just a few years back, there was a girl who was targeted by her own vile and mentally diseased cousin and she was fast and ready and smart enough to be able to defend herself with that knife and stabbed that rapist real good and saved herself and properly defended herself.

The taxi idea is an interesting idea, although I wouldn't want a male taxi driver knowing I am vulnernable. Even the person at the end of the phone or whatever, could be a man and go and hunt me down on after his shift. I am conscious of people taking advantage of situations for their psycho sexual kicks.. However, it would be I could meet in a public place say and he or she won't know where my car is etc. and they shouldn't walk you to the car. That maybe another way round things. I have on my bicycle a loud bicycle horn and a loud bicycle bell. My friend was mugged outside a subway station and she made a lot of noise and the cowardly male ran away. She grabbed her bag back too, though that was a bit of a risk. So yes, noise is very important.

Take a dummy with you and stick it in the passenger seats, makes it look like you are not alone. I remember my car was not very reliable, and it used to break down, have punctures, get overheated, new alternator had to be replaced, so when I had a car I felt very vulnerable for all sorts of reasons, and often the rescue people were men, so as a woman that is a risk. I gave up my cars because I got fed up with my car breaking down on motorways and rural roads. I feel safer by bicycle. If things get scary, I could even leave it at the station and take the train or even go on the bike with the train. Can you do a personal safety video on personal safety and cycling, as there really isn't much on that at all.

I throughly agree with all your points. There is not many of us who think like this. People are very trusting and naive. I choose my friends wisely and none of them are into drugs, heavy alcohol drinking, have convictions, into violence. Even when I was a younger person, I avoided those people. Drinking friends are quite different to real friends who care about you.

Even being at home you can be drunk and then get attacked by someone at the house party, or you can fall down the stairs, leave the gas on... overdrinking is a health and public safety hazard. I don't get drunk and I am alert all the time.
