If you can do the late night Thursdays, it's TOTALLY worth doing. I really enjoy the UWL spec / tracks / etc. Racing has made multirotor 'not boring' for me again. Whoops / UWL is relatively cheap vs the full size quads to be able to race and have your skill level being the only thing holding you back!

HDZero Freestyle VTX and the HDZero Micro V2 HD Camera.

It isn't an efficient plane. It's pretty much a 2 minute plane.

I put a stand alone OSD board in that I thought was working but apparently not. I'll have to use an old FC just for the OSD if nothing else!

Use the bottom finger holes, set the 3mm of reflex, give it a good throw and you'll be good to go!

It feels awkward in the fingerholds, especially as you throttle up. You can't get much over half throttle and still hold onto it. It 'feels better' to left hand throw from the nose but later flights proved the finger holds / paper airplane throw to work well. Mine broke a servo and I got some Turnigy servos to replace the PNP ones. I'll probably have it in the air again Sunday.

If you use the hand hold provided it's not bad 😉

I've ordered some metal gear ones to replace these, but if they don't hold up I'll cut in the 12 .4g Emax ES3352 servos.

@@shawnzfpv what do you think of the plane so far? from what I see it looks fast but is difficult to launch and has tendencies to stall.

@@REDROBRCFPV Once set up correctly it actually has very good stall characteristics, see the stall test for it here on YT, it just dips the nose pretty benignly. As a fast Delta, its stall speed is just a bit higher than most other things and needs to be kept above it to stop it falling out the sky. For launch, its definately squirrely but see Brian Phillips review of it, he seems to have got it launching not so bad and regards it as being 'easy' ...not sure I fully agree with that.. but it certainly still looks to launch a lot easier than my Strix Goblin.

@@REDROBRCFPV It launches fine if you use the hand hold provided. I crashed it again today (I think the battery came uplugged) and it lawn darted from 75' or so into a rocky desert and aised from a little roughing up of the foam and broken prop, it's fine. I gave away the ZOHD 40A ESC at the feild today but I've decided to 'do not pass go' and go straight to 6s. it'll be 1950kv and 6x4 for starters. The fatal flaw of ths model seems to be needing oodles of reflex so it'll probbly trim to just one speed. slow down, you decend. speed up, you climb. FC / INav can probably mask this but I find it annoying. Besides that it is about 4x as responsive on roll as it is on pitch so it feels very pitch numb.

@@shawnzfpv oh wow, I fly in dirt lot next to a walmart on lake pleasant parkway. Can't cross south of lake pleasant parkway or you're in luke airspace but is it a good open area. I fly there about every weekend in the mornings. Camino á Lago Marketplace, Peoria, AZ 85382

If you throw it like you are supposed to (via the bottom finger holes) it is a lot cleaner. Mine will roll left about 60 degrees and then it's good to go.

In acro it is still stabilized. It will try to hold an attitude. I don't know if you need it to me in a stabilized mode (vs MANUAL mode) but if you are in a stabilized mode you can feel the difference in the controls as it makes changes. I also like to see the PIDs on the screen so I can see what is changing. it's also nice to have on the DVR is case you forget to save the settings at the end of the session :).

Mine is tail heavy so I'd have to sort that out (proper battery would help! ) to fly it hard in competition. I think a 4s / 5s 2200 would be just about right. I'm flying with a 1500 4s all the way forward. I've flown it on 5s but it didn't seem much faster. The challenge is the smaller APC props have their 'bitey' section obscured by the spinner. The 7x6W works pretty well for 4s Though! I just picked up some 5.5x6.5E to try on 5s which are supposed to work really well.

I like it a lot! If I was to build another I might see if I can re-arrange some components to help with CG as I had to add 280g of weights + my GoPro Session on the nose to make CG. Maybe move the RX out on the wing forward of the rear bay and maybe try a lighter motor such as a 2814 (107g) vs the 2826 (171g) to help shift CG forward.

This is the Ritewing MZ-24, LD Power 2305 2600kv motor swinging a Dal 5045C Cyclone 3-blade prop. The battery is a 4s 1500 CNHL. ESC is a way over-sized Cobra Wing 60A. VTX is an Immersion Tramp, Camera is a Foxeer Micro Predator, and it's using a VAS Ion antenna. This is the out of the box settings on the Foxeer.

philaell this is Mountain View Park in Phoenix. It is a City of Phoenix designated RC park located just south of 7th Ave and Peoria.. The only downside of flying here is the park rangers don't really understand the city law and they interpret the signage to mean that you should only fly within the sidewalk borders of the park I launched from. Another park with a lot of wide open space and people flying fixed wing is Coyote Basin which is just East of the Costco at Cave Creek and the 101 freeway. This is also a park designated for R/C.

Center the aileron stick and slight forward pressure (dive input) and it will transition to a dive.

ShawnzFPV any throttle input?

Throttle is usually at idle. If any input is needed it is very little. In the video if you look close at the amp draw I add throttle at 00:45 and the plane spins faster!
