What you're calling City Hall in 1987 was the Marshfield Clinic building. In 1989 it became Marshfield City Hall, Wood Co. Government Offices, and various businesses. It's not the City Hall anymore either. City Hall moved to a previous bank building West of Central Ave.

I was 18 years old in the summer of 1987. We cruised up and down central all night long every weekend. When you needed a break from the cruising you would hang out in the business parking lots located along central ave. the beginning of the end came in the early 1990's when a kid with a truck full of people in his truck bed pulled out too fast while sitting at Washington Square. A 15 year old girl fell off the back of the truck and hit her head on the pavement. Unfortunately she passed away from her injuries. It wasn't long after that incident that businesses stopped allowing loitering in their parking lots and eventually police banned cruising altogether.
