Join me on my journey as we explore the fun world of getting automobiles back on the road. My main focus will be to awaken old iron that have been sleeping for far too long, as well as repairing iron that needs help. This channel was started and named by my purchasing Edd the Volvo (old family car) from my Uncle and Aunt for restoration and also named for my Swedish side of my family. I HATE Tire Service Companies - 2018 Subaru Forester Lug Studs and Nuts Replacement
มุมมอง 1.4K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Some company did my friend dirty. BAD dirty. They put tires on the Subaru after "servicing" and broke at least 5 lug studs. ALL TIRES had some form of either broken lug studs and or nuts. Also they put on mix-matched lug nuts as well. The mechanic told the customer to send it, and their service writer also told them: "Its fine don't worry about it." Unbelievable! We will right the wrong that th...

New subscribed from Somalia
Hello Somalia!!
You've helped inspire my son and I to start a project. If you have any gas tank tips, we're definitely going to need all the tips we can get. Luckily our tank is nothing like the size of the one you pulled.,
Excellent! Glad to inspire you all!
What do u do if the metal pipe from the motor is rotted
The rear one is replaceable. The front one going to the water pump I’m not sure if that’s threaded or press fit.
Thanks for this video because my sons town car has the same problem and i didn’t know where to begin. Taking it apart now
Why do you press throttle when pulling choke cable out? Thank you.
The cable is much easier to pull out when depressing the throttle. Pressing on the throttle moves all the linkages and allows the choke cable to be pulled easily.
I cannot for the life of me get the damn torsion springs to stay on the j-hook. It keeps coming undone and it's really pissing a guy off.
Took me a hot minute to get them to behave themselves
@@SwedeMachine I'm on number 6 or so of resetting everything. I'd get it done, drive down the road, and see a j-hook had come undone. I'm really considering a disc conversion.
Good job SM and good luck with getting it all done. Looking forward to seeing it roll out of your shop when finished. 🤠
Me too!!!💪🏼
Awesome
Good, solid video --lots accomplished!
Eyyy it’s my boy Robert! Thank you kindly!!
Nice job, should stop well.
That’s the name of the game! 😄
This reminds me a bit of when Josh from Snidertron3000 made a 30 min video of himself installing an ebay cold air intake, giggling and stoned out of his mind. But I reckon you're the type of guy to just be high on life. Quality content as usual!
Correct I’m just high on life! I don’t need anything stronger haha!
I put those powerstop Z36 pads on my truck in March, I had a hard time getting the caliper to slide back on with them as well. They do stop very nicely though and don't make a mess out of my wheels at all. Way better than the Centric semi metallic pads I had on previously.
Oh well that’s good to know! Bless
Why do you want brakes..... all they do is slow you down !!
Eyyy that matches your username! Love it!!!
How do you fix a brake? Well, you put some glue on it!.....Hahahahaha! Good job! Thanks for sharing! 😄
I guess we both need to help. Love it!
Good video brother! So interesting and nice to watch! Keep it going! I want to see this truck done and back to his glory! I literally love ‘em old big box pickups🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
And you will my friend!! It’ll be a lot shiner 😁👌🏼
@@SwedeMachine can't wait for it. Honest to God I'd love one of them. I think I was born in the wrong side of the world ! :))) Just in love with these things man. Well done brother. Keep it going
Did the waterpump solve the overheat issue?
Naw, the thermostat fixed it. I replaced the water pump it since I opened everything up. People may criticize me if it was good don’t fix it, but I prefer preventative maintenance. My vehicles and equipment rarely break down because I’m proactive about maintenance
@SwedeMachine same, i guess thats why my daily drivers are 25 and 35 years old. With over a quarter of a million miles on each. So, no critisizing here, just wondered. So a stuck T-stat.
@@theresahoffman8408 Yes sir it was a stuck thermostat. I know it cost money upfront, but I prefer reliability rather than risking it for the biscuit. All good here😄💪🏼👍🏼
Nice too see u again cool
Thanks John!
Great to see you again SM, and good to see things are still going as planned lol 😂😂. Keep it up mate, really enjoy your escapades. 🤠
You and a select few, and that won’t change 🤪✌🏼

Who needs Minwax to stain wood when you've got 20 year old gas! 😂 I don't have Smell-O-Vision, but i swear i could detect a whiff.. Hopefully the Ford turns out well....im sure it will, though. It has to, right??

We only have Grade A nonsense here 🤣🤪🔥💩
😁😁👍👍
Very informative. You took away some of the anxiety about doing some of the mechanical work myself. This engine is super simplistic. I was just gifted a 1050 that they say was running, but needs a new clutch. Figured it be a good project to test my skills on. Never worked on a tractor so this ought to be fun. By the way, great close up shots and lighting. It’s always nice to get a clear, well lit view.
You were gifted a 1050? FANTASIC! They are great little tractors. Very mechanical and reliable! I’ve never split one apart so do a little homework on it. But don’t be scared. Use common sense, take your time, use quality parts, and get your hands on the OEM repair manual binder. Glad to shed some light on this tractor for you!
My 1983 Ford f250 does that sometimes, but it doesn't start right away or crank over! It usually takes a second or 2 before it starts right up. Why is that? It has a new - starter -solenoid -altantor ignition switch
Ice lightning show😁👍👍
Yes!!!👏🏼
My pointy finger hurts just watching this. Came out great, looks sharp!
Better than before 😄
I can't remember the last time I saw a thunder storm like that one. Very Cool!
I think you were more upset about this than the head gasket on the Deere. Glad it all worked out and are alive to tell the tale.
I was genuinely very upset here no doubt. Head gasket was my fault. But it was not a safety issue unlike this hot mess of a disaster for real
Thanks for posting this great video for us non mechanics who don't want to pay an exorbitant price at the shops! I changed my serpentine belt and voltage regulator in the spring and I tell you it was a very crazy tight working job. You need tons of patience. I now noticed my timing belt is a bit cracked so I will change that while I change my stuck open thermostat and sensor. I may as well do the water pump too. Your lighting, audio and explanations were very clear. Im a nurse but love working on vehicles. Its my favourite hobby of many and to find a video such as yours is so helpful. Just a question, though, did you drain all the coolant or just let it drain when you took the thermostat and water pump out? Thanks again
Happy to hear my video gave you a good insight as to what you’re in for. Yes it’s crazy tight working on the beast 100%! No I did not drain the entire cooling system. I simply got a big enough catch can on the ground, then pulled the water pump and hoses off. Perhaps may be a bit more messy doing this, but I don’t feel like draining a whole radiator and engine block full of coolant down haha. That’s awesome to hear you love this as a hobby!
Of course if you can't get the tires to seat, there's always a can of hairspray and light method. I used the ratchet strap method when my boys and I changed my trailer tires.
Can't wait for the shopping cart revival! (Trailer Park Boys reference)
Ohhh I do like the Trailer Park Boys!!
I felt bad for you when you were tying to get the exhaust manifold off, there is no way it could get worse than that, right? WRONG! My heart sank for you when the new head gasket was leaking. You took it better than I would have. Glad you left the video here. That's some of the reasons I like you, you make mistakes like the rest of us, you have MANY of the same tools I do, and you keep it real. Thank you.
Absolutely. I had a few choice words when I learned I had the wrong gasket. I just had to sit there for an hour and cool off and re-research what went wrong. Most welcome sir 👍🏼
Great Job fixin the broke choke!
I had a 72 F100 and I think the only time I saw that ammeter move was when I lost my alternator belt. Thanks for posting, I learned a thing or two.
EBay
When you were wiping away the metal shards from the old bolts, I could feel the splinters from here. Good Stuff, Thanks!
Dual starter solenoids???
Yeah that was bizarre to see
by far the best video on this i’ve seen. thanks a ton!
Bless my dude✌🏼🤘🏼
Still not sure why there are 3 trans cooler lines. 1 into the normal cooler, 1 to the added cooler and then 1 out??? I've always had standard transmissions.
Usually there is only 2. But this setup has an external cooler in conjunction with the stock radiator cooler hence more lines😉
I can't imagine trying to break that inner bead without a tire machine.
The Screw Up Thingy is Screwed Up!
When you were thinking it was a 40K rig, I was going to ask if the tires were stock.
