I like pulling guard with a darce. It makes it really tight and hard to escape. That’s one thing I like about chokes, you can transition to different chokes and positions pretty easily

The short answer is that he is getting away with being lazy in his stance because his stand up game is so far above his opponents. Pixley was a D2 national champ in wrestling and none of his opponents are showing any real ability to handfight or threaten him on his feet. I promise you if one of his opponents started threatening him you would see Pixley's stance change quite a bit.
